Chapter 624: 623 In your eyes, am I so unbearable?
The corridor outside of the private dining room was relatively dim.
When there was no one around, it was pretty tranquil, with only Bai Xiaoxiao’s voice echoing in the air. There’s a small flower bed around the corner, and during this blooming season, the air filled with a faint scent of flowers.
At hearing sothing from Mother Bai at the other end of the phone, Bai Xiaoxiao’s face turned pale then angry as she spoke, “Mom,
Luo Haofeng is not like what you said. Just because of Xiao Yuting, can you stop thinking that all n in the world are no good?”
Wen Ran’s brows wrinkled slightly, and she quietly took out her phone to kill ti.
“I did promise you I wouldn’t have anything to do with him. But mom, feelings are not sothing that I can control just by saying so. What am I supposed to do when I can’t control my own heart and actually like him?”
Bai Xiaoxiao’s voice gradually beca louder, breaking from its initial subdued tone.
“Don’t worry, I am not that careless. I have things to deal with. Let’s talk when I co ho in a couple of days.”
Not wanting to hear her mother continue, Bai Xiaoxiao quickly hung up the phone using an excuse. She took a deep breath, didn’t speak, and dialed another number.
From the angry look on the beautiful face of Bai Xiaoxiao, Wen Ran could roughly guess who she was calling. Despite being far away in A City and having only recently begun a relationship with Luo Haofeng, her mother had learned about it imdiately.
Obviously, soone had told her mother.
And this person, besides Xiao Yuting who was on a business trip with her and staying in the sa hotel, she could not think of anyone else.
Xiao Yuting had seen Bai Xiaoxiao eating late-night snacks with Luo Haofeng. He had also seen Luo Haofeng deliver Bai Xiaoxiao to her hotel room and kiss her forehead.
The call was quickly answered, and on the other end, Xiao Yuting’s voice ca excitedly: “Hello, Xiaoxiao, what’s up?”
“Xiao Yuting, did you call my mom?”
Bai Xiaoxiao asked angrily. On the other end of the phone, Xiao Yuting seed to be taken aback for a mont, then asked in a concerned tone: “Xiaoxiao, what happened? Did your aunt scold you over the phone?”
“Xiao Yuting, even if you don’t admit, I know it was you.” Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t have the patience to continue talking to Xiao Yuting, and asked angrily: “Xiao Yuting, what are you up to? Are you trying to get back at because of your issue with Linda last ti?”
“Xiaoxiao, am I such a terrible person in your eyes?”
On the other side of the phone, Xiao Yuting asked with a hint of bitterness. He knew all about the embarrassnt Linda caused him when she t with his parents last ti, which was all Luo Haofeng’s doing. However, his actions were not about revenge…
Bai Xiaoxiao sneered: “What kind of person you are has nothing to do with . Xiao Yuting, I just want to tell you that who I am with has nothing to do with you.”
“Xiaoxiao, let’s go to the restroom.”
Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao hang up the phone, Wen Ran softly spoke.
Bai Xiaoxiao nodded and they went into the restroom, where Wen Ran spoke with a smile:
“Xiaoxiao, don’t get mad at Aunt Qiao. She is just worried about you. Luo Haofeng used to have a terrible reputation. When you are with him for a while longer, Aunt Qiao will start to accept him.”
Bai Xiaoxiao, however, was visibly upset. She looked at herself in the mirror and said bitterly: “Ranran, I can’t understand my mom’s thinking. She is being too stubborn.”
Wen Ran’s dark eyes blinked in confusion; “What did Aunt Qiao say?”
“She told to break up with Luo Haofeng imdiately, to return to G City imdiately, and ntioned that my dad has invited a lot of young talents for my dad’s birthday. That, she said, would be a great opportunity for to et new people. Isn’t she going too far?! ”
As Bai Xiaoxiao finished speaking, her chest moved up and down due to annoyance.
Wen Ran was slightly surprised. Aunt Qiao was not usually an unreasonable mother. When Bai Xiaoxiao was determined to pursue Xiao Yuting, she had only advised her to let go a few tis and never quite like she was now.
Perhaps Aunt Qiao felt guilty for previously indulging Xiaoxiao too much, causing her to get hurt and feel upset for a long ti over Xiao Yuting, that was the reason why she was insisting so much this ti.
Luo Haofeng was not the type of man who gave others a sense of safety at first sight. With his alluring face, flirtatious deanor and often nonchalant attitude, he would not seem like a man of good character.
“Xiaoxiao, where is your Uncle Bai? Why don’t you ask him to persuade your mother?”
Wen Ran was thinking up strategies to help Bai Xiaoxiao. Anyhow, she didn’t want Bai Xiaoxiao and her mother to have an argunt over Luo Haofeng, which would only make her relationship with Luo Haofeng more difficult.
Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyes brightened, and a smile appeared on her face, “Ranran, I forgot about it if you didn’t ntion it. I was totally made a fool by my mom. As soon as I return to the hotel, I will call my dad. I ask him to persuade my mom. I really don’t understand why she dislikes Luo Haofeng so much.”
Seeing her smile, Wen Ran also grinned and said, “Your mind has been totally overtaken by love. But your relationship with Luo Haofeng is indeed developing rapidly. As a reward, shouldn’t you tell how far you two have progressed?”
As Wen Ran asked this question, there was a playful gleam in her eyes.
Bai Xiaoxiao grumbled at her, “Once we’ve hit a horun, I will absolutely report to you.”
“Pfft, then I will look forward to it.”
Wen Ran went into a cubicle, and Bai Xiaoxiao also went into another cubicle, laughing.

The bedroom was softly lit and dim in the deep night.
On the spacious and comfortable bed, Wen Ran was sleeping on her side, her face peaceful. A few ters away on the leather sofa, Mo Xiuchen was focused, his slim and pale fingers hopping over the keyboard. The quiet tapping sound made a rhythmic echo in the room, like a pleasing lody.
Every night, he only got off the bed and started to work on his laptop after Wen Ran fell asleep.
His cell phone rang. He put away his laptop and picked up the phone. After pressing the answer button, he gently said ‘hello’.
“Mo Xiuchen, where are you now?”
Through the phone ca a deep, aged voice. Perhaps due to the phone call, it was three parts familiar and seven parts foreign. The man, who shared a blood relationship with him, was more of a stranger than a known figure to him.
A touch of coldness clouded his face. Mo Xiuchen leaned back onto the sofa, his voice distant and aloof, “What’s the matter?”
Since he left MS Group, he had felt that he had no connection with Mo Jingteng.
“Mo Xiuchen, when will you be back?”
There was a pause on Mo Jingteng’s end of the phone. He may have been dissatisfied with Mo Xiuchen’s tone and attitude or was considering how to continue the conversation.
In the end, he did not directly state the purpose of his call, but instead asked him indirectly when he would be back, hiding the fact that he already knew he was in A City.
“I don’t know.”
Mo Xiuchen replied without hesitation. To Mo Jingteng, this was undoubtedly a sign of his indifference and perfunctory attitude. But unlike his treatnt towards Mo Zixuan, Mo Jingteng couldn’t lose his temper at him.
