Chapter 632: 631 I don’t want a salary, I just want you
Mo Xiuchen looked towards the door with his deep, dark eyes. The door was sound-proof. Even if Wen Ran was awake outside, if he kept his voice down in the study, she wouldn’t hear anything.
His voice sounded a bit lost, which was unusual for him. “Dad, I don’t feel any discomfort. I just made a little mistake last night. I don’t know if that counts as unusual.”
Mo Xiuchen sowhat believed what Fu Jingyi had told him on the phone last ti, but he was also sowhat skeptical.
“What mistake?”
Gu Yan was very tense.
Because he was worried. Mo Xiuchen was willing to trade his own health for Ranran’s. Such love was rare in this world.
Despite having lived for so many years, he had co across few n like Mo Xiuchen who would lay down their lives for the one they loved. But his daughter Ranran had found such a man.
He didn’t know whether to feel proud or heartbroken.
“It wasn’t anything serious. I just suddenly misrembered sothing that had happened a short while ago. Dad, don’t worry; I don’t think there is a problem.”
Mo Xiuchen’s tone was very calm, and carried a kind of reassurance. Gu Yan, separated by the Pacific Ocean and unable to see Mo Xiuchen’s expression, was still anxious.
In fact, he felt it was very serious.
“Xiuchen, take your dication and don’t be careless. If you feel any discomfort or notice anything abnormal, call imdiately or tell Ah Kai.”
Gu Yan sternly advised over the phone.
“Dad, I know.” Mo Xiuchen didn’t want him to worry too much, he responded with a gentle smile. Gu Yan then told him about their recent failed experints, and how another animal had been sacrificed for them.
For Brown and Joseph, these failures only fueled their interest and determination. If the patient wasn’t his own kin, Gu Yan might feel the sa.
But worry made him more anxious.
“Dad, don’t worry, my body has always been in good shape. I won’t have any problems in the short term.”
Mo Xiuchen comforted Gu Yan.

The next day, Wen Ran really went to work at Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory. On the way there, Mo Xiuchen jokingly said, “Ranran, from now on, I will be your full-ti driver, picking you up from work too.”
Wen Ran cleared her throat intentionally and asked with an air of majesty, “Little Mo, what kind of salary would you like? Just let know.”
Mo Xiuchen’s hand on the steering wheel paused, an unusual expression flickered across his handso face, she was trying to take advantage of him.
However, he quickly returned to normal, turned his gaze to her and said aningfully, “Miss Wen, I don’t need a salary, I only need you.”
Wen Ran gave him a reproachful look and said in annoyance, “You are quite bold. No driver would dare to ask for this.”
“Haha, of course others wouldn’t dare, but I do.”
Mo Xiuchen laughed heartily. Wen Ran had intended to tease him a bit, but ended up being teased by him instead. Seeing his handso laughter, so charming and enchanting, she was montarily enchanted.
She forgot to respond as she watched him.
The luxury Aston pulled up at the factory gate, and Mo Xiuchen dutifully alighted and opened the door for Wen Ran.
When Wen Ran got out of the car, she saw that Mo Xiuchen had no intention of stepping away. His towering fra stood in front of the car door. His body was so close to the car door that he grabbed her wrist in front of the bustling factory gate, bent his head, kissed her forehead, and then stepped back, “Ranran, I’ll co pick you up at noon.”
Wen Ran’s face turned red. She didn’t dare to look at Mo Xiuchen again and quickly walked into the factory.
Wen Jin had ntioned casually that Wen Ran could co back to help. She didn’t expect that Mo Xiuchen would actually agree to let her work. He couldn’t possibly let her get tired.
However, Wen Jin was very happy to have Ranran back at work. At least, he could now see her whenever he wanted.
Mo Xiuchen really did take her to work and pick her up from work every day. Normally, she didn’t know what he was doing. Wen Ran never heard him say he was bored, nor did she ever see him busy. But he seed to enjoy and appreciate this leisurely life.
Every night, Mo Xiuchen watched TV with Wen Ran. Before ten o’clock, he would always urge her to take a bath, drink so milk, and then go to sleep.
It seed as if life had returned to its previous state, peaceful and happy.
“Ranran, I forgot to tell you, I had Little Liu put the things you sent back in storage.”
That night, after Mo Xiuchen took a shower, Wen Ran was lying in bed texting on her phone. Mo Xiuchen sat down beside her on the bed, extended his arm, and drew her into his embrace.
Wen Ran was sowhat surprised at his words. She suddenly rembered that she had sent back so skincare products express mail when she was in A City. But she had completely forgotten about it with the past few days of work.
“If you hadn’t ntioned it, I would have completely forgotten.”
She pressed the send button, her clear eyes looking at Mo Xiuchen’s flawless and exquisite face.
Mo Xiuchen lightly twirled a strand of her hair around his fingers, releasing it and twirling it again. As he played with it, he said, “You were so excited about going back to work at the factory that you almost forgot about your husband, let alone so useless skincare products. It’s normal to forget.”
His voice was filled with amusent.
However, Wen Ran seed to detect a hint of jealousy in his words. With a flicker of her crystal-clear eyes and a deep stare into his profound gaze, she said with a teasing smile, “Xiuchen, are you jealous?”
“Yes, I am jealous.”
Mo Xiuchen willingly admitted it.
He looked at Wen Ran frankly without hiding anything. Seeing her smile, he couldn’t help but curve the edges of his lips upward, “Ranran, I’m starting to regret agreeing to let you go back to work. Look, ever since you went back, I seem to have beco less important.”
“Who says you’re not important? You’re my full-ti driver, and I need you to pick up every day. You’re very important.”
Wen Ran put down her phone, her fair and delicate fingers touching his handso face. She had only been back at work for three days, but it felt like it had been a long ti since she and Mo Xiuchen had spent ti together.
It seed that she had beco used to the around-the-clock companionship over the past weeks, always being able to see him whenever she lifted her head or opened her eyes. She wasn’t used to this new lifestyle yet.
Mo Xiuchen was amused by her words.
His laughter was deep and exceptionally magnetic. Wen Ran pouted her lips in discontent, “Xiuchen, don’t you believe what I say?”
Mo Xiuchen leaned over, his thin lips resting on her forehead, he said softly, “Ranran, of course I believe you. It’s just that I’ve beco accustod to being with you twenty-four hours a day, and I’m not used to the sudden change.”
