Chapter 658: Do you miss 657 tis?
Mo Xiuchen’s apartnt is close to the Haochen Company.
Gu Kai has been staying here for the last couple of days. However, after receiving Wen Jin’s call that Wen Ran had rushed to the airport, Gu Kai packed up his stuff, not wanting Ranran to know that he was in City C.
Mo Xiuchen opened the door and led Wen Ran in by the hand.
“Xiuchen, don’t you have a housekeeper?”
Upon entering, Wen Ran took a tour of his apartnt first. The decor was exquisite, exactly to his taste.
“Ranran, co here and have so water first.”
After pouring the water, Mo Xiuchen stood in front of the sofa, calling out to Wen Ran who was walking through the rooms.
Wen Ran giggled, walked to the sofa, took a sip of the warm water he handed her, held the cup, and looked up at him: “If not for the phone call with my brother, I might have found so clues.”
“Haha, you keep searching then.”
Mo Xiuchen burst into laughter, his eyebrows relaxed and his mood pleasant.
Wen Ran glared at him and drank her water, and when she finished, Mo Xiuchen took the cup, placed it on the coffee table, and pulled her back into his embrace, his eyes filled with warmth as he gazed at her.
“Ranran, did you miss ?”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice was deep and magnetic, alluring to the heart. Especially for Wen Ran who loved him deeply, the rhythm of her heartbeat spiraled out of control when she heard those words.
Soft tenderness visibly gathered in her clear eyes, her porcelain-white face flushed subtly due to his breath, and her entire self, carried an indescribable adorable charm.
Mo Xiuchen couldn’t help but slant his head, and as she opened her mouth to reply, his cool lips t her soft ones.
Their four lips touched delicately.
A shiver ran through Wen Ran’s body and her heart fluttered as if an electrifying sensation had rushed right into her core. Reflexively, before her conscious mind could send the command, her arms instinctively wrapped around Mo Xiuchen, expressing the intensity of her longing through a passionate response.
Mo Xiuchen ended the kiss quickly, before it could escalate into sothing uncontrollable.
“Ranran, I will prepare so food for you.”
After his burning desires had sowhat subsided, Mo Xiuchen, in a slightly husky voice, cupped her flushed cheek.
She gently agreed, “Let help you.”
Inside the kitchen, Wen Ran washed the vegetables, while Mo Xiuchen sliced them. Once that was done, she stood by, watching him cook.
“Ranran, could you get a glass of water?”
Just when Wen Ran was engrossed watching him, Mo Xiuchen’s cooking movents abruptly stopped and he told Wen Ran to get him water without turning his head.
Perplexed, Wen Ran glanced at his hand holding the wooden spatula and smiled, “Alright, I’ll get you so water.”
She turned and left the kitchen, heading to the living room to fetch water.
Mo Xiuchen’s handso figure appeared a bit stiff from the back, his right hand with the wooden spatula resting on the marble counter, while his left hand covered his forehead. His handso face bore a slight pallor.
Once the painful sensation subsided, he resud cooking the food in the pan.
In the living room, Wen Ran took her ti to pour the water. A glance from the corner of her eye took in his slightly rigid figure in the kitchen. She couldn’t see his expression, just his hand resting at the edge of the counter holding the wooden spatula.
She pressed her lips tightly together, watching as his figure began to relax, his hand leaving the counter and the spatula stirring in the pan again. It was then that she went back into the kitchen with the water cup, a gentle smile spread across her face, “Xiuchen, here’s your water.”
Mo Xiuchen turned around, his smile hiding his pallor and adding a dignified elegance, “Thank you, Ranran.”
“Rest for a while, I’ll do the cooking from here.”
Wen Ran handed him the water cup, and without further ado, took the wooden spatula from his hand. Caught off-guard, Mo Xiuchen allowed Wen Ran to assu control of the cooking after just enduring a bout of a headache.
“Ranran, it’s alright, you don’t have to…”
“Just drink your water, leave the rest to .”
Giving him a wave, Wen Ran’s beautiful face filled with a bright smile, showing no sign of disarray.
A helpless smile crossed Mo Xiuchen’s face, “Alright then, I will go stand aside.”
“You don’t need to, you can stay in the other room. I get nervous when you watch.” Wen Ran teasingly stuck out her tongue at him in a playfully adorable gesture. Mo Xiuchen couldn’t hold back his laughter and obediently left the kitchen to wait in the living room.
Their lunch didn’t require too many dishes, just three main courses and a soup, which took less than an hour to prepare.
Wen Ran didn’t allow Mo Xiuchen to help with plating the dishes either. As he sat at the dining table watching her serve him, he wore a gentle and happy smile, “Ranran, you are the best wife in the whole world.”
Wen Ran gave a soft laugh, “If you’re praising so much, I should also return the favor.”
Mo Xiuchen chuckled while pulling out a chair for her. His face radiating a warm and refined smile, but his reply lacked any modesty, “So go ahead, I’m all ears.”
Wen Ran’s eyes glinted with mischief, as she sat on the chair next to him and said in a serious tone, “Xiuchen, you have good taste.”
“Haha, well said, my taste is indeed good. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have recognized that you would be the best wife in the world back when you were just a few years old, after tirelessly searching for you all these years.
“Ah, it’s not easy being the best though.”
Wen Ran sighed, serving food onto his plate. Mo Xiuchen laughed and thanked her while serving food onto her plate as well.
“Ranran, how many days are you planning on staying in City C on this business trip?”
While placing a piece of at in Wen Ran’s bowl, Mo Xiuchen casually asked the question.
Wen Ran blinked and replied softly, “It’s not a big deal, I’ll stay just for the night and return to G City tomorrow morning.”
She took a bite of her chopsticks, giggling, “If you can’t bear to part with , I can take a couple of days off and stay here with you for a little while longer.”
Upon hearing her words, Mo Xiuchen’s eyes sparkled for a mont, but then rembered his own situation and a hint of regret seeped into his smile, “Ranran, I would love nothing more than to keep you with here and not let you return to G City. But I’m afraid that’s not possible currently.”
“Why not, you’ve only been in City C for two days, surely you haven’t found a new sweetheart?”
Wen Ran pouted as she withdrew the chopsticks from her mouth, giving Mo Xiuchen a feigned look of displeasure.
Mo Xiuchen chuckled, “Not just for two days, but even for two years or two lifetis, I wouldn’t find anyone better than you. I have a business trip tomorrow. I am glad that you ca to City C today; otherwise, I would have missed the chance to see you.”
“Oh, where are you headed?”
Wen Ran’s displeasure faded away. She lowered her head and took a bite of her food, then looked up at Mo Xiuchen again.
“I’m off abroad on a business trip. Do you rember when I ntioned Qin Sen and Liao Dongxing?”
Mo Xiuchen set his chopsticks down and took a sip from the soup in front of him. He hadn’t had much of an appetite these past two days.
Wen Ran nodded, “Of course, you’re not going to D Country to the vineyard that Qin Sen’s wife owns, are you? By the way, I t Mo Zixuan yesterday evening. He ntioned that there’s a powerful backer behind Fu Jingyi, which should be Qin Sen and Liao Dongxing we suspected.”
Mo Xiuchen held the soup spoon, stirring the soup in the bowl absentmindedly, and softly replied, “Yes, I am heading to D Country. There’s a chance Fu Jingyi might be hiding there.”
