Chapter 770: 769 Let Mo Xiuchen Help
Gu Kai agreed with his point of view, but, think of Ranran tearing up and saying she wanted to co back, his heart tightened.
The sudden ringing of his phone interrupted what he wanted to say. Gu Kai took out his phone and saw the incoming call. A curve of joy tugged at the corner of his mouth. He pressed the answer key and started, gentle and full of warmth, “Ranran.”
“Bro, where are you guys?”
Over the phone, Wen Ran’s voice ca through clear and crisp, tinged with faint sounds of commotion.
Gu Kai replied with a chuckle, “Ah Jin, Ah Feng, and I are at Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion. Ranran, have you finished your movie?”
Glancing at his watch, it was nearly ten o’clock. His phone ringing most likely ant they had finished a movie.
As expected, Wen Ran happily replied over the phone, “Bro, we’ve just co out of the theater. We’ll head over to Yi Pin Xuan to find you guys, which floor are you on?”
Gu Kai glanced at Wen Jin next to him, his smile deepening. He told Wen Ran their location and urged them to drive carefully and not rush on the way over.
Twenty minutes later, Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao arrived at the Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion. As soon as they entered and saw Wen Jin waiting in the first floor lobby she asked cheerfully, “Bro, are you waiting for us here?”
Wen Jin nodded, Mo Yu’s eyes brimming with a touch of indulgent humor, “Yes, I stepped out to get so fresh air and decided to wait for you.”
“Brother Wen, you’ve ‘decided’ all the way to the first floor.” Bai Xiaoxiao’s jesting remark elicited a chuckle from Wen Jin, who asked, “What movie did you guys watch? Ranran didn’t fall asleep, did she?”
Wen Ran falling asleep during a movie was commonplace.
“Bro, we watched a horror film, so scary it could scare one to death. How could I dare sleep?” Wen Ran said, her lips ford into a pout of discontentnt while Bai Xiaoxiao added, “Brother Wen, you’ve genuinely wronged Ranran this ti. Not only didn’t she sleep, but she also ca up with a brilliant plan to get back at Cheng Jia.”
The three chatted as they ascended the stairs.
Hearing Bai Xiaoxiao’s words, Wen Jin stopped in his tracks, raised an eyebrow, sound of interest raising slightly; his handso face wore a slight smile as he asked, “What kind of plan has Ranran thought up?”
Thinking of her idea, Wen Ran broke into a grin, her eyes twinkling brightly, “Bro, I plan to dress up as a ghost to scare Cheng Jia. I’ve already asked Qing Feng and Qing Yang to prepare everything. We ca to you guys to watch the drama unfold tonight.”
“Dress up as a ghost to scare Cheng Jia?” Wen Jin repeated, then broke into a low chuckle.
“Bro, how about my plan? Just not sure if Cheng Jia is afraid of ghosts.”
Wen Ran’s eyes glistening, she looked at Wen Jin, originally she wanted to slap her several tis, but Xiaoxiao had already done so. They couldn’t slap her every ti, it will not be fresh at all.
Wen Jin pondered for a mont, sowhat uncertainly, “She should be afraid”.
“Yes, and Xiaoxiao and I think so, even if she’s not afraid, it doesn’t matter, if this thod doesn’t work, I’ll think of others anyway.”
A wicked light flashed at the bottom of Wen Ran’s eyes, she wouldn’t let Cheng Jia get away with it.
When they entered the private room, Luo Haofeng and Gu Kai, who were sitting at the table, both stood up.
Gu Kai looked warmly towards Wen Ran, while Luo Haofeng’s gaze couldn’t help but stray towards Bai Xiaoxiao.
The two had broken up a few days ago and hadn’t had any contact since, let alone seen each other. Tonight was their first eting after breaking up.
When their eyes t, both of them experienced a slight change in mood.
A complex emotion flashed in Luo Haofeng’s eyes. Bai Xiaoxiao quickly averted her gaze, sat down at the table with Wen Ran, and simply greeted them.
“Ah Jin, did you ask the waiter to serve the dishes?”
Luo Haofeng questioned, looking towards Wen Jin. The latter lightly nodded, “The dishes will be served soon.”
After Gu Kai took Wen Ran’s phone, he ordered so more dishes they all loved. They had gone to the movie after eating dinner, so they weren’t very hungry now.
Once the dishes were served, they started eating whilst chatting. It was Wen Jin who suggested, “Ranran, since you want to scare Cheng Jia, why not get Mo Xiuchen involved?”
“Get Xiuchen to participate?”
Wen Ran blinked in confusion. Xiuchen was in D Country; how could he participate?
Most importantly, if Xiuchen participated, wouldn’t Cheng Jia learn that she was still in touch with Xiuchen?
Earlier, when Gu Kai heard about her plan to scare Cheng Jia, he didn’t object. Instead, he asked her if she needed any help.
Now, seeing her looking puzzled, he smiled and explained, “Ranran, I think what Ah Jin ans is to have Xiuchen call Cheng Jia. She doesn’t know that you’re in contact with Xiuchen, she’ll never guess that you’re the one who scared her.”
“Ha ha, I think this idea is good. Ranran, you call Xiuchen and see if he’s willing to help.”
“Xiuchen will definitely be willing. From his tone when he ntioned Cheng Jia the other day, he should dislike her.”
One phrase from Gu Kai and one from Luo Haofeng. Amusent curled at the corners of Wen Jin’s mouth as he looked at Wen Ran, waiting for her decision.
Wen Ran was slightly moved.
But she was also hesitant. That night in D Country, after she denied Mo Xiuchen’s probing ssage, he clearly didn’t believe her, hence his parting ssage of ‘sorry’.
“Ranran, just make the call. Don’t tell Mo Xiuchen you’re Wen Ran, right?”
Bai Xiaoxiao looked forward to it all. If they managed to scare Cheng Jia tonight with Mo Xiuchen’s participation, she would be excited just thinking about it.
Seeing everybody’s eyes trained on her, Wen Ran hesitated for a few seconds, then pulled up a smile, and said breezily, “Alright, I’ll text Xiuchen now for help, let’s see if he agrees.”
“Ranran, ssage him quickly.”
Bai Xiaoxiao was eager to know whether Xiuchen would agree, and looked forward to the fact that even in his amnesic state, Xiuchen would still help them prank Cheng Jia, his so-called fiancée.
Wen Ran lightly pursed her lips, ignored her rapidly beating heart, and took out her phone to compose a ssage.
Bai Xiaoxiao stretched her neck, her beautiful eyes wide open, staring intently at Wen Ran’s phone screen.
The other three n raised their high-stemd glasses, clinked them together and downed the remaining drink.
Once Wen Ran had composed her ssage and checked it over, confirming there were no issues, she hit send.
In D Country, Mo Xiuchen had just signed a contract and was leaving a company when he received the ssage.
Secretary Wu was behind him, reporting on the afternoon’s schedule.
“President, the banquet tonight…”
Her voice paused because of the tone of Mo Xiuchen’s incoming ssage, she assud it was a phone call coming in for Mo Xiuchen.
Mo Xiuchen heard the sound of a ssage, his eyes flicked, a wave of inexplicable joy swelled in his heart, and without hesitation, he took out his phone to read the ssage.
Secretary Wu stood by, curiously watching him.
Seeing the content of the ssage, a trace of surprise flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes. He was curious, what sort of help did Ranran need from him?
The ssage read, “Can you do a favor?”
Despite her denial that she was Wen Ran that night, Mo Xiuchen had determined in his heart that she must be related to him.
He had visited their hotel yesterday only to find that she had already checked out.
A warm smile tugged at the corner of his thin lips as he quickly typed out a few characters, “Ranran, what sort of help do you need?”
