Chapter 773: 772 Late Night Pretending to be a Ghost
Secretary Wu was taken aback at first, watching Mo Xiuchen get into the car, then the driver closed the car door before she reacted.
The CEO said, he’s returning to the country?
Back in the car, she asked with concern, “CEO, why are you suddenly returning to the country? Is sothing the matter?”
“Yes, there’s sothing.”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice was very light, his gaze swept over her, and then he pulled out his phone to check a ssage.
Seeing that Mo Xiuchen didn’t want to elaborate, Secretary Wu didn’t dare to press further, hesitated for two seconds before finally responding, “Okay, I’ll book the flight in a while.”
Mo Xiuchen grunted in satisfaction at her reply. At least she didn’t act like Cheng Jia who, when he ntioned returning to the country, always found reasons to try and stop him.

Wen Jin, Luo Haofeng, and Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t go ho, but went to the Gu Family’s house, which was relatively closer to where Cheng Jia lived.
Bai Xiaoxiao was doing Wen Ran’s makeup upstairs. Wen Jin and the others were drinking tea and chatting in the downstairs living room, waiting for them.
In the bedroom upstairs, Bai Xiaoxiao, looking at Wen Ran in the mirror, felt a chill down her spine, “Ranran, you might as well play a female ghost, I guarantee that with this appearance, you will scare a lot of people to death.”
Bai Xiaoxiao fixed Wen Ran’s hair in front of her face, covering half of her face, and revealing the other half which was deadly scary. The clear and bright eyes of Wen Ran were transford by Bai Xiaoxiao into bloody eyes.
Wen Ran took a look at herself in the mirror then suddenly looked up at Bai Xiaoxiao, stretched out her hand and mimicked the creepy voice, “Xiaoxiao, give back my life.”
“Ah!”
Bai Xiaoxiao scread in fright and ran away. Wen Ran laughed out loud, got up and chased after her, shouting all the while, “Xiaoxiao, wait for .”
“Damn Ranran, don’t shout like that again, do you want to kill ?”
Bai Xiaoxiao ran and cursed, afraid that Wen Ran’s appearance and makeup would literally scare people to death if they were to go outside now.
Wen Ran didn’t manage to catch Bai Xiaoxiao and was left panting. She stopped in front of the sofa and gasped, “Xiaoxiao, co over here. I won’t chase you anymore.”
“Ranran, try your hardest to scare Cheng Jia to death later.”
Bai Xiaoxiao also felt tired from the run, leisurely walked to her and said with a grin.
Wen Ran gave her a glare, “It’s enough to scare her half to death. What if I literally scared her to death? Then I’d have to pay for her life. To risk my own life for Cheng Jia is not worth it at all.”
Upon hearing this, Bai Xiaoxiao agreed, “Right, in that case, don’t scare her to death. Just make her faint, and then turn her into a ghost.”
“Hmm, that’s a great idea.”
Wen Ran pictured that scene in her mind and smiled pleasantly.
When they ca downstairs, they startled the n in the sitting room. Wen Jin imdiately stood up from the couch in shock, Gu Kai shivered involuntarily, and Luo Haofeng stared in amazent.
“How is it, do Ranran and I look like ghosts, are we scary?”
It turned out that not only Wen Ran, but Bai Xiaoxiao also had put on ghost makeup. They were both in long gowns, Bai Xiaoxiao’s was red and Wen Ran’s was white. The two extre colours coupled with their makeup made them look like vengeful ghosts.
To make it more realistic, they both draped their hair over their faces, resulting in a gloomy and eerie atmosphere.
“Be careful when you walk downstairs, let your eyes show a bit, take care not to trip.”
Wen Jin looked at their hair-covered faces, his handso eyebrow furrowed slightly in concern. He was worried that their vision might be obstructed by the hair and they might trip, thus he couldn’t help but warn.
Gu Kai sighed, “I’m glad I’m not scared of ghosts. If I were a little faint-hearted, I’d be scared to death by you two.”
Wen Ran gave a light laugh, walked to the couch and swept her hair back. Revealing the bloody eye, her face in clear view caused the three grown n to scream in unison.
“Hahaha, are you guys scared too?”
Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao laughed rrily.
“Who wouldn’t be scared by you guys looking like this? Thank God I don’t have to see you every day, otherwise, no matter how brave I am, I’d turn into a scaredy-cat.” Luo Haofeng, who didn’t enjoy watching horror films, was certainly not used to their ghostly appearances.
Wen Jin checked the ti and said gently, “It’s about ti, let’s go.”
“I’m going to call Qing Feng and Qing Yang first, to see if they’re ready.” Gu Kai took out his phone and dialed Qing Feng’s number. Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao exchanged glances and hiding their faces with their hair again.
“Ranran, Xiaoxiao, Haofeng, let’s get in the car first.” Wen Jin looked at Gu Kai who was on the phone and said gently.
The distance from Gu’s house to where Cheng Jia lived was not far. Especially at this late hour, the roads were free of traffic. In less than fifteen minutes, the car stopped outside the housing complex where Cheng Jia lived.
Qing Feng and Qing Yang were already waiting at the entrance of the complex. Here, everything was already arranged.
They entered the complex, took the elevator to the floor where Cheng Jia lived. This new ho was where Cheng Jia had just moved in not long ago. There were very few residents in this complex, Cheng Jia lived on this floor alone, which was quite unlucky for her. However, it did make it easier for Wen Ran and her team to execute their plan.
“Ranran, you should call or send a ssage to Mo Xiuchen.”
After everything was ready, Gu Kai reminded Wen Ran kindly. Wen Ran glanced at Cheng Jia’s door, nodded slightly, took out her phone, and sent a ssage to Mo Xiuchen.
“You can make the call now.”
Far across the Pacific Ocean, Mo Xiuchen was waiting for Wen Ran’s ssage.
Upon receiving her ssage, a smile spread across Mo Xiuchen’s lips as he typed, “Okay!” and sent it to her before dialing Cheng Jia’s number.
In preparation for the operation, Wen Ran set her phone to silent mode. Less than half a minute after she sent the ssage, a reply ca. Seeing that the word ‘ok’ had arrived, she smiled softly, her mood instantly lifted.
anwhile, inside the room, a sleeping Cheng Jia was rudely awakened by her phone ringing.
She opened her sleepy eyes and picked up the phone placed on her bedside table.
When she saw the caller ID, her sleepiness and frustration from being woken up vanished instantly, and she promptly sat upright on the bed.
Rubbing her eyes forcefully to make sure she was not seeing things, she swiftly answered the call.
