Chapter 793: Wen Ran has betrayed you.
Mo Xiuchen wasn’t lying in this case.
He did indeed stumble upon the newspaper by chance, perhaps even, the heavens were helping him.
The fact that last year’s paper would miraculously appear only now, and in the cab he was riding, was so unbelievable that no one would buy it if he told them.
Of course, such a dramatic coincidence was no coincidence at all. Most of the coincidences in this world were artfully arranged by soone, including this newspaper.

Mo Xiuchen acted as though he didn’t notice Mo Jingteng’s skepticism, lazily leaning against the couch in a state of indifferent coolness, without showing any signs of pretense.
Mo Jingteng carefully ford his words and after a while, he explained, “Xiuchen, the scandal Cheng Jia had with Little Liu last year was actually because Little Liu took advantage of her. Her feelings for you have always remained the sa from start to finish. You later agreed to be engaged to her, indicating that you didn’t mind what had happened. The only problem was, you had an accident in surgery and lost your mory.”
Mo Jingteng was gambling.
He was betting that Mo Xiuchen knew as much as he had just ntioned.
“Why did Wen Ran and I divorce?”
Instead of revealing whether or not he believed Mo Jingteng’s words, after a mont of silence, Mo Xiuchen simply asked a question.
Mo Jingteng’s face altered slightly. A hint of rage surfaced on his weather-beaten face and he replied curtly, “Xiuchen, your divorce with Wen Ran certainly wasn’t without a reason, but because Wen Ran wronged you.”
“What did she do to wrong ?”
Mo Xiuchen’s brows furrowed, his body leaning slightly forward on the couch, his cold gaze fixed on Mo Jingteng.
Mo Jingteng, feigning indignation on his behalf, said, “She was having an affair with Qin Mu, so you divorced her. In a fit of anger, you then got engaged to Cheng Jia. Not many people know about this. Compared to Wen Ran, Cheng Jia was always loyal to you.”
“However, if you don’t fancy her, I won’t force you. After all, considering Cheng Jia’s background and past, she isn’t worthy of you. I’ve decided to throw a banquet next week to celebrate your recovery. We’ll invite so of G City’s young and distinguished won. I’m sure there will be soone better.”
Mo Jingteng didn’t dare to push Mo Xiuchen to accept Cheng Jia, nor did he want him to turn back to Wen Ran. Therefore, while he had yet not sought Wen Ran, and had yet to rember his past, Mo Jingteng planned to introduce him to another woman as soon as possible.
If he got another woman, naturally, he wouldn’t go looking for Wen Ran again.
But as he finished speaking, he felt the atmosphere change slightly.
Mo Xiuchen’s already cold deanor turned icy cold. His narrow eyes concealed a chill, framing him in an aura of anger.
“Dad, are you saying Wen Ran betrayed ?”
“Yes. I didn’t want to tell you this. Wen Ran, that frivolous woman… you were so good to her, but she betrayed you, and hurt your heart. Xiuchen, you must not forgive her if you see her,” Mo Jingteng angrily declared.
With Mo Xiuchen having lost his mory, and Wen Ran having vowed not to tell him about their past, it’s likely that even if Mo Xiuchen asks Wen Ran, she wouldn’t dare tell him anything. Mo Xiuchen would then inevitably believe that it was Wen Ran who had betrayed him since she wouldn’t reveal their past.
Thinking this, a cold smile spread across Mo Jingteng’s face. Mo Xiuchen had repeatedly gone against him for Wen Ran’s sake in the past. Now that he had lost his mory, he wouldn’t allow Mo Xiuchen to reconnect with Wen Ran again.
“I understand,” Xiuchen’s voice was tinged with frost. Mo Jingteng, seeing that he seed to believe, softened his righteous anger a bit and comforted him, “Xiuchen, your mory loss might be a good thing. Now you don’t have to grieve over Wen Ran anymore. You can focus all your energy on the company and we will find a woman befitting of our Mo family.”
“Mm.”
Mo Xiuchen responded lightly, indicating his agreent with Mo Jingteng’s words.
Mo Jingteng’s mood significantly improved. He finished the water in his glass, stood up, and said with a smile, “Xiuchen, you should rest for a bit, I’ll head ho so you can get so work done.”
“Dad, I want to participate in tomorrow’s bid personally.”
“Good. Our biggest rival this ti is Haochen, but don’t worry, we, the MS Group, will undoubtedly win the bid.”
A hint of cold, smug triumph glead in Mo Jingteng’s eyes, revealing his well-laid plan for defeating Haochen the next day.
“Mm, I’m curious to see Haochen’s capabilities. Secretary Wu can handle things temporarily on D Country’s end. I’ll stay here and make sure to acquire Haochen,” Mo Xiuchen said, exuding the sa confidence and determination that delighted Mo Jingteng even further.
After showering Mo Xiuchen with praises, Mo Jingteng left him in the office and headed ho reassured.
As he reached the ground floor, he ran into Mo Zixuan, who was coming to work.
Mo Zixuan greeted him respectfully as usual, not expressing any resentnt for Mo Jingteng’s previous abandonnt.
“Zixuan, your brother’s back. He’s in the office right now. If he asks you anything, be careful with your words,” Mo Jingteng whispered, lowering his voice, “Your brother has forgotten about Ran Wen now. If you still have feelings for her, you can pursue her freely. I won’t oppose you two being together anymore.”
Upon hearing Mo Jingteng say that Wen Ran was a flirtatious woman, if Mo Xiuchen sees Mo Zixuan entangled with her later, he would surely hate her much more.
Mo Zixuan looked down, his voice steady, “Dad, I don’t have such feelings for Wen Ran anymore.”
Mo Jingteng froze when he heard this, staring at Mo Zixuan’s calm eyes. He frowned, then encouraged, “Zixuan, didn’t you like Wen Ran quite a lot? Is it because you almost killed her last ti? You really don’t need to worry about this. You’re my son, Mo Jingteng’s son. You liking Wen Ran is her blessing. Just go ahead and pursue her, I’ll make sure she agrees to marry you.”
In order to make Mo Xiuchen his puppet for life, he simply could not let Wen Ran co back to him.
And right now, Mo Zixuan was the best candidate.
Mo Zixuan looked puzzled, “Dad, didn’t you dislike Wen Ran? Why do you want to let her into our Mo family now?”
Mo Jingteng scoffed, “I can’t let her bewitch your brother again. Zixuan, if you genuinely don’t like her, I will have no option but to… make her vanish from this world.”
Mo Zixuan’s face paled instantly at his words. Seeing his reaction, Mo Jingteng patted his shoulder, “Zixuan, I knew it. You still haven’t let go of Wen Ran.”
