Chapter 848: 847 Don’t despise
After the kiss ended, Wen Ran completely relaxed into Mo Xiuchen’s embrace.
Her face was burning hot, her gaze hazy, and her legs even more so weak and feeble. Perhaps it had been too long since they had been this close; her heart felt as if it could burst out of her chest at any mont.
Mo Xiuchen’s large hand was around her waist, the flas dancing in his deep, intense eyes. Yet fearing that he might frighten her, he resisted the urge to continue and asked huskily, “Ranran, could you tell about this place?”
He felt a sense of familiarity here, yet it was indistinct in his mind; he could not rember why it was familiar or what it ant to him.
Wen Ran cald herself before lifting her eyes to et his deep and fiery gaze, causing her heart to tremble fiercely again.
A faint smile blood across her beautiful eyes, then she looked around the spacious courtyard, finally resting her gaze on a cherry tree. In her mind, she saw an image of Mo Xiuchen standing in the cherry tree smiling down at her.
...
Her heart suddenly ward.
Pointing at the tree, she said tenderly, “Mo Xiuchen, when the cherries were ripe, you were in the tree, picking them for to eat.”
A look of confusion appeared on Mo Xiuchen’s handso face. He furrowed his brows, trying to rember sothing, but Wen Ran’s gentle voice stopped him, “Mo Xiuchen, don’t rush to rember the past. Let introduce you first, and don’t force yourself to rember, okay?”
She was afraid that the more he tried to rember and couldn’t, the more anxious he would beco.
Mo Xiuchen looked into her caring eyes and couldn’t help but smile warmly, agreeing, “Alright, I won’t hurry. After all, we have a lifeti ahead of us. Ranran, if I can never recall those past mories, then I will just rember every day starting from now. You won’t scorn , will you?”
For so reason, his deliberately softened plea, “you won’t scorn ,” deeply touched Wen Ran’s heart. She feigned annoyance and glared at him, saying sowhat irritably, “You are the handso, noble, wise, and decisive President Mo. Who would dare scorn you? If you don’t scorn , I should be extrely grateful.”
“Haha, Ranran, you don’t need to be so grateful. Even if I forget myself, I can still rember you. In this lifeti, I can’t escape from the palm of your hand.”
Mo Xiuchen’s teasing dispelled the sourness in Wen Ran’s heart. She couldn’t help but smile and fiercely glanced at him, grabbing his large hand, “Let’s take a walk around the courtyard. There are fruit trees planted in the back too, I’ll show you.”
“Great!”
Mo Xiuchen smiled gently and charmingly, his eyes filled with adoration. He let her lead him by the hand, listening to her soft, tender voice, “Mo Xiuchen, the first ti you brought here, it was just as the cherries were ripening. That was also when you were sick.”
Hearing the suppressed sadness in Wen Ran’s voice, Mo Xiuchen’s heart tightened, and he subconsciously tightened his grip on her soft hand. They stopped in front of a marble table under the cherry tree. Wen Ran pointed at the several cherry trees and said, “That afternoon, you were responsible for picking cherries up in the tree, and I was in charge of eating them. We stayed here overnight, and the next day, we picked a lot of cherries to give away.”
“Oh, let show you a photo.”
Wen Ran said, reaching for her phone.
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes deepened as he watched her take out her phone, find the photo, then she turned her body, flipping through the album to show him, “Mo Xiuchen, look, this is you picking cherries that I took. Aren’t you handso?”
“Hmm.”
Excitent flickered through Mo Xiuchen’s eyes as he looked at the photos on Wen Ran’s phone. Yes, that was him.
There he was in the cherry tree, bending over to hand her cherries, reaching for cherries on the branches, and smiling gently at her…
Each photo was a testant to their happiness, and as he looked at those pictures, a complex emotion that was hard to articulate surfaced in his heart. His other long arm was tightly wrapped around Wen Ran’s waist, “Ranran.”
Wen Ran’s body stiffened slightly. She discerned the complexity in his tone and sensed his mood. Turning her head, her eyes t his with a tender gaze, “Mo Xiuchen, do you rember? You once told that when you returned, you’d plant many fruit trees for . In the future, every year when the fruits ripen, you’d accompany here to pick them. And when we grew old, we would still live here…”
In his absence, each ti she recalled those words, her heart ached unbearably.
It wasn’t just a day-by-day countdown, each day filled with tornt, but every minute and every second was agonizing. The pain of missing him, mingled with panic, was sothing others could not understand.
“Ranran, I’m sorry.”
The tender adoration in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes was replaced by profound guilt and heartache. He knew that while he was away in D Country, spending days with Cheng Jia, his Ranran had been suffering imnsely, overwheld with sorrow.
She must have been sad and desolate.
She not only dared not contact him but even when she connected to his phone, she couldn’t admit it.
Recalling her words on the phone, “You’ve dialed the wrong number,” his heart felt as if it was being severely clenched by an invisible hand, the pain sharp, and the hand around her waist suddenly tightened.
Unbeknownst to her, a layer of moisture had appeared in Wen Ran’s eyes. Her already clear eyes, soaked in mist, beca even more crystal-clear, like top-grade pearls.
She blinked, forcibly suppressing the overwhelming sadness rising like a tide in her heart, and a tender smile appeared on her lips as she softly said, “Mo Xiuchen, don’t apologize. It wasn’t your fault.”
Even if he really ended up with Cheng Jia, even if he treated her as a stranger for his whole life, she wouldn’t bla him, not ever.
He was her Mo Xiuchen, the man she loved. As long as he was well, she was willing to keep this love in her heart forever, just as she had said, cherishing her love and mories of him till the end of her days.
“Mo Xiuchen, this villa was your grandparents’ house. You told once that you had a happy childhood here.”
Wen Ran pursed her lips and then grinned radiantly, continuing her explanation.
“Is that so? This was my grandparents’ house?”
He led Wen Ran around to the back of the villa and then circled back from the right side, his heart still only vaguely familiar, unable to rember any specific fragnts.
Wen Ran said with a smile, “Mo Xiuchen, because of ti constraints back then, you didn’t get to tell the fun things about your childhood. Whenever you rember, make sure to tell everything.”
She wanted to know all about him, share his joys, and partake in his sorrows.
Mo Xiuchen nodded with a smile, tenderly promising, “Of course, Ranran. As soon as I recall my past, I will tell you right away.”
“It’s settled then.” Wen Ran’s smile was imnsely joyful, her eyes sparkling like stars, bright and enticing. Her voice was cheerful, a pleasant sound to the ears, “Just don’t rush, I will always be here waiting for you to rember.”
“Ranran, thank you.”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice was deep and gentle, his heart, full of profound emotion.
