Chapter 850: 849 is less handso than
The atmosphere changed with Mo Xiuchen’s seemingly playful yet deeply affectionate confession.
Wen Ran’s smile froze on her face, and she stared at him in stunned silence.
Even though she knew his feelings, hearing him say it out loud still made her heart bubble with joy, as a thing called happiness instantly filled her chest.
“Co on, don’t get emotional, eat first.”
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes deepened as he picked up so food and placed it in the bowl in front of her.
He knew that Ranran was moved by his words. He couldn’t rember how they used to interact, but going forward, he had decided to treat her with his whole heart, to make her happy and joyful.
...
He intended to make up for the ti he owed her.
From now on, he would ensure that his Ranran would never be sad or cry again. Thinking this, a layer of warmth and affection rippled through his deep gaze.
After dinner, Mo Xiuchen took on the task of washing the dishes willingly: “Ranran, go watch TV in the living room, I’ll join you after I wash the dishes.”
“Okay!”
Wen Ran saw his voice was deep and llow but carried an assertiveness that wouldn’t take no for an answer; her heart ward, and she laughed, agreeing, “Okay, just make sure you wash them clean.”
“Don’t worry, I guarantee they’ll be cleaner than when they were new,” Mo Xiuchen said teasingly.
Mo Xiuchen carried the dishes into the kitchen, while Wen Ran sat on the sofa in the living room, flicking through channels with the remote, one after another, until she was attracted by a handso actor and began watching a youth idol drama.
“Ranran, do you like this kind of TV show?”
Mo Xiuchen finished cleaning up and sat down on the sofa in front of her, naturally stretching an arm around her shoulder and drawing her close into his embrace.
Feeling the person in his arms stiffen slightly, a slight curve appeared at the corner of his mouth as he turned his eyes to her, gazing at her tenderly.
Wen Ran’s heartbeat sped up, completely beyond her own control.
She felt annoyed; it seed that whenever this man ca close to her, her heartbeat would lose its rhythm.
She instinctively lowered her eyelids to avoid his deep gaze, “It’s not that interesting, just killing so ti.”
The smile on Mo Xiuchen’s lips grew a bit richer as he took the remote from her hand, lightly pressed it, and turned off the TV.
“Mo Xiuchen, why did you turn it off?”
“I’m tired, let’s go upstairs to rest,” he said matter-of-factly, tossing the remote onto the coffee table and pulling her up from the sofa.
Wen Ran froze and frowned, “Mo Xiuchen, going to bed right after eating can cause indigestion.”
“Then let’s go to the rooftop to see the stars.” Mo Xiuchen simply didn’t want Wen Ran to watch the TV; he had seen a good-looking man in it, who was only slightly more handso in appearance but couldn’t compare to him.
He didn’t want Ranran’s aesthetic to be lowered by that pretty boy, “Ranran, if you want to look at handso guys, just look at in the future. You don’t need to waste your ti on n who are inferior to .”
Wen Ran’s mouth twitched, amused, “So you’re saying if I et a man more handso than you, I can look at him, right?”
“A man more handso than … it seems there isn’t one in this world,” Mo Xiuchen said narcissistically, leading her away from the sofa.
Wen Ran was tickled by his vanity, yet Mo Xiuchen remained calm and composed as if what he said were perfectly normal. Seeing her laugh, he frowned dissatisfiedly, “Ranran, do you think I’m exaggerating?”
“No, not at all.” Wen Ran barely held back the urge to burst into laughter, her eyes warmly fixed on Mo Xiuchen’s handso and flawless features, thinking that perhaps his words weren’t that exaggerated after all.
He was just a bit self-absorbed.
At least in her eyes, her Mo Xiuchen was the handsost, most impeccable man in the world.
Of course, that’s not to say other people aren’t good, but she loved this man and felt that everything about him was great and unparalleled.
Seeing her gaze fixed on him, Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved up in a pleased arc. Once they were on the rooftop, Wen Ran slipped out of his grasp and walked to the white marble balustrade, leaning on it and looking up at the bright moon in the night sky.
“Mo Xiuchen, the breeze up here is cool, and the air is filled with the fragrance of flowers…”
Wen Ran’s soft, happy voice dissipated in the wind as soon as she spoke; Mo Xiuchen humd in response, walked behind her, stretched his arms, and encircled her in his embrace.
Wen Ran’s body trembled slightly, but she didn’t struggle.
Mo Xiuchen didn’t speak either, just tenderly held her like that, his chest against her back, his chin lightly resting on her shoulder. She watched the stars, and he watched her with gentle eyes.
For a long ti, no one spoke.
The atmosphere was warm and serene, with a hint of happiness lingering in the air; even the breeze whispering in their ears was tender, like a lover’s caress gently sweeping over the heart, stirring ripples.
“Ranran, are you tired?”
After who knows how long, Mo Xiuchen’s hoarse voice erged from his thin lips, his warm breath penetrating Wen Ran’s ear, making her heart flutter, and her face instinctively turned aside, “Mo Xiuchen, don’t…”
“Ranran, don’t be afraid, I won’t hurt you.”
Mo Xiuchen smiled faintly, “Ranran, I won’t take advantage of you before my mory returns, unless, you’re willing.”
