For a mont, through the phone, Mo Jingteng’s voice was not heard, only coughing sounds penetrated Mo Xiuchen’s ear.

Mo Xiuchen stood up, returned to his desk, took a sip of water from the cup on the desk, put down the cup, and dialed the intercom.

Mo Zixuan’s voice ca through, and Mo Xiuchen responded calmly, “I’ve already told him, tonight’s dinner will be attended by you. Don’t worry about whether it will be successful or not, just show up to deal with it.”
“Why don’t you go yourself?”
Mo Zixuan protested discontentedly, how could he make decisions without his agreent.
Mo Xiuchen curled his lips, recalling how Mo Jingteng had been agitated into a fit of coughing by him, his mood suddenly improved, and his tone even carried a hint of amusent, “I have a wife now, it’s not good for to deceive people any longer. You’re still single, so if you fancy Li Yunchang’s daughter, it’s a good match. If not, don’t stress yourself.”
“Mo Xiuchen, are you dumping the girls you don’t want on soone else?” Mo Zixuan was sowhat annoyed. He had a wife, yet he wanted him to go on this ‘blind date’.
Mo Xiuchen’s brows furrowed, his tone calm a second ago, turned slightly stern, “Mo Zixuan, don’t address by my full na anymore. Regardless, I am your brother, and considering your lifelong matters is quite normal.”
Mo Zixuan paused, then said mockingly, “When have you ever treated like a brother? Don’t use that status to pressure .”
“So, are you going tonight or not?”
“I’ll go, but with conditions.”
Mo Xiuchen scoffed dismissively, “What conditions?”

In the afternoon, Wen Ran brought so fruit to Li Qian’s house.
When she arrived, Sister Li’s baby had just fallen asleep, and Chen Bin was in the kitchen making soup for Li Qian, who was tired of lying in bed and was moving around the living room.
Entering the living room, Wen Ran placed the fruit on the coffee table, then carefully observed Li Qian and noticed she had gained weight since before the baby’s birth, a smile flickered in her eyes as she teased, “Sister Li, Big Brother Chen must be cooking delicious food for you every day, you’ve grown fuller.”
Although Li Qian had gained weight during pregnancy, it was because of the baby, and she hadn’t gotten fat herself.
Now postpartum, she had visibly grown fuller; it seed Chen Bin took good care of her.
Li Qian laughed playfully, “Fuller? Just say I got fat.”
“Haha, Ranran is right, it’s ‘fuller’, what fat? You are still far from being fat.” Chen Bin ca out of the kitchen and joined in, his comnt prompted an instant complaint from Li Qian, “It’s all your fault, making eat so much each day, that’s why I’ve gained so much weight. Once the confinent is over, I definitely need to lose weight.”
“Alright, I’ll help you with your diet then.”
After finishing, he turned to Wen Ran, “Ranran, keep Qianqian company for a while. I’m heading out to buy so groceries, we’ll have dinner here tonight.”
“Okay.”
Wen Ran looked at Li Qian and agreed with a smile.
After Chen Bin left, Li Qian pulled Wen Ran to sit on the sofa and asked with concern, “Ranran, I heard you’ve been with Mo Xiuchen these past few days, have you finally figured it out?”
Wen Ran’s eyes twinkled, but instead of answering, she asked, “Sister Li, who told you that?”
“Xiaoxiao did. She called , saying you and Mo Xiuchen went to the countryside, and she herself was on a business trip in City C and hasn’t co back yet.”
Li Qian looked at Wen Ran with a smile, “Ranran, are you together with Mo Xiuchen now?”
“Sort of,” Wen Ran said, her face breaking into a faint smile. She had already agreed with Mo Xiuchen to move back in with him. Given their current relationship, Mo Xiuchen would certainly not let her live alone; he would move back in as well.
Hearing Wen Ran’s words, Li Qian’s smile beca even brighter, “Ranran, that’s right. You and Mo Xiuchen have been through so much, don’t let anyone or anything separate you again. You must be happy together, and hurry to have a baby.”
At the ntion of a baby, a glimr of anticipation flashed in Wen Ran’s eyes.
Would their baby resemble Mo Xiuchen more, or her? As she was thinking, her cell phone rang.
Wen Ran took out her phone, and upon seeing the caller ID, a smile imdiately tinted her clear, vast eyes. She pressed the answer button, her voice softly spilling from her lips, “Hello!”
“Ranran, are you at the office?”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice ca through clear and gentle, with a captivatingly velvety texture, touching Wen Ran’s ears and heart, stirring a sweet tenderness within her.
Just hearing his voice made her incredibly happy.
Next to her, Li Qian got up and quietly left the sofa to check on the baby in the bedroom, not wanting to disturb Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen’s conversation.
Wen Ran’s gaze settled on Li Qian’s retreating figure, a tender smile playing on her lips, “I just got to Sister Li’s house. Big Brother Chen has gone to buy groceries, and they are keeping here for dinner.”
“Ranran, I’ll co to pick you up later,” Mo Xiuchen laughed lightly on the other end of the phone, his voice growing even gentler.
He didn’t want Ranran eating dinner at Li Qian’s house. Ranran was his.
“No need, you’ve been on a business trip for several days and have spent a few days playing with , you must have a lot of work to catch up on. Attend to your tasks; I drove myself here, I can drive ho tonight.”
Wen Ran quickly intervened, not wanting to interfere with his work.
It was one thing for her to have an irregular work schedule, since she had no real career ambitions and harbored the grand dream of being idle. But she couldn’t drag Mo Xiuchen down with her, no matter what, he was now the president of MS Group and carried significant responsibilities on his shoulders.
“You’re driving by yourself? I’m not comfortable with that. I’d rather pick you up after work, just give the address, and I’ll cook dinner for you tonight.”
He knew that Li Qian’s husband was a chef with great culinary skills. Even so, he didn’t want Ranran to eat dinner there. He wanted to spend every second with Ranran; anyone who competed for Ranran’s ti was unwelco to him.
Wen Ran felt both touched and amused inside. Mo Xiuchen’s words sounded domineering, yet there was an inexplicable childlike stubbornness about them, as if he had to reclaim his beloved toy that was taken away.
“Ranran, is that okay?”
After being assertive, he switched to a questioning tone.
Wen Ran no longer had the strength to resist, she sighed softly and tenderly said, “Okay, I’ll wait for you to pick up.”
Mo Xiuchen was the man she loved most; how could she refuse his kindness, let him be disappointed, or bear to see him dine alone? Alright, just this once, she would choose love over friendship. Staying would only make her a third wheel anyway; better to accompany her beloved Mo Xiuchen.
