Chapter 981: 980 front page headline Chapter 981: 980 front page headline “No, if we can make it a day earlier, then we’ll make it a day earlier.”
Mo Xiuchen’s gaze drifted towards the doorway, and though separated by the door panel, he seed to be able to see the person sleeping on the big bed, conjuring her peaceful and lovely sleeping face in his mind.
The arc of his lips unconsciously grew wider, and tendrils of warmth started to fill his eyes.
When he had married Ranran in the beginning, he didn’t even give her a wedding, he gave her nothing. He didn’t love her then, so he didn’t feel he was making her suffer.
But now, no matter how much he gave, it never seed enough. He wished he could present the entire world to her.
He didn’t know how other n treated their wives, but for Ranran, he wouldn’t hesitate to give his all because he loved her.
“Then, Young Master Mo, to what date do you wish to move it forward? The nearest auspicious day is the sixteenth of the twelfth lunar month.”
“The sixteenth of the twelfth lunar month… that’s in ten days, enough ti.”
Mo Xiuchen savored the date he had ntioned, his mind racing as he considered whether to set the date to that day. After a brief contemplation, he decided on the date.
After giving Qing Feng a few more instructions to ensure everything was arranged properly, Mo Xiuchen then ended the call. Right before hanging up, Qing Feng asked, “Young Master Mo, are you really not going to tell anyone?”
Qing Feng felt it was enough to keep Ranran in the dark by himself, and there was no need to keep it from others.
Mo Xiuchen smiled and said, “Mhm, no need to tell anyone in advance.” If Ranran herself didn’t know about it, and soone else did, what if soone accidentally let it slip? Then the surprise would be ruined.
After finishing the call with Qing Feng, Mo Xiuchen made two more phone calls to inquire about the specific dates for the wedding dress and the diamond ring to be delivered. By the ti he hung up, it was already half-past midnight.
After pondering for a mont, Mo Xiuchen then dialed Secretary Lin’s number.
In the dead of night, with most already asleep, Secretary Lin’s voice ca through groggily. Mo Xiuchen’s brow furrowed in displeasure at Secretary Lin’s sleepy voice, his voice slightly deepening, “Secretary Lin…”

In the early morning, Wen Ran woke up to the kisses of Mo Xiuchen.
As she opened her eyes, she was t with his chiseled, enchanting face, his eyes brimming with deep affection and love.
“Ranran, good morning.”
His tender kiss landed on her forehead, and Wen Ran’s sleepiness quickly faded, her cheeks blooming with a bright smile, “How long have you been awake?”
“Just woke up.”
Mo Xiuchen laughed softly as he kissed her brow, her eyes.
“You said you wanted a baby, let’s practice first.”
Wen Ran, jarred by his ntion of wanting a baby, had not a mont to ponder before both of their phones rang at the sa ti.
The lodious ringtone seed urgent and piercing in the early morning, and Mo Xiuchen glanced toward the bedside table with a slight frown, “Mo Xiuchen, answer the phone.”
Reluctantly, Mo Xiuchen sat up, grabbed both of their phones, and took a glance at Ranran’s, which displayed Bai Yiyi’s na. His eyes narrowed, rembering Bai Yiyi was Fu Jingyi’s daughter.
When did she beco so close to Ranran to disturb her early in the morning like this? It couldn’t be from a person with good intentions.
“Mo Xiuchen, hand my phone.” Wen Ran noticed him frowning at her phone and with a chuckle, she turned her head to see, and realizing who the caller was, she playfully stretched out her hand.
With both phones still ringing, Mo Xiuchen passed Wen Ran hers, then he himself stepped out of bed and into the adjacent study to answer his call.
“Hello, Yiyi.”
Wen Ran straightened up the pajamas Mo Xiuchen had disheveled, pressed the answer button, and chid in with a cheerful voice.
Contrasting with her cheerful tone, Bai Yiyi’s voice carried a hint of worry, “Ranran, have you seen today’s newspaper?”
“Newspaper? No, I’ve just woken up, still in bed, what’s happened?”
Wen Ran was sowhat surprised, sensing from Bai Yiyi’s tone that sothing was amiss.
“Mhm, today’s newspaper, on the very front page, there’s a report about you and a man nad Qin Mu.” Bai Yiyi’s words entered her ears and Wen Ran’s eyes widened in shock.
She threw off the covers and got out of bed, “I know, I’ll go have a look and we’ll talk.”
“Okay.”
Bai Yiyi didn’t say much else and ended the call.
Just as Wen Ran hung up, Mo Xiuchen ca out of the study, his sharp facial features carrying a touch of seriousness, suggesting the call he had just received wasn’t a pleasant one.
Their gazes t, and they simultaneously spoke, “Ranran.” “Mo Xiuchen.”
Mo Xiuchen took a few steps to her, his eyes sweeping over her face before asking gently, “Ranran, did Bai Yiyi call you to say that you and Ah Mu are on the front page today?”
Wen Ran’s expression shifted slightly, and even without knowing the full story, she nodded and said, “Yes, Mo Xiuchen, I…”
“Don’t worry, you go and find sothing to wear in the dressing room, I’ll make a call to arrange things first.”
Mo Xiuchen raised his hand to brush a stray lock of hair from Wen Ran’s forehead, gently embraced her, then let go, directing her to get dressed in the dressing room.
Wen Ran went to the dressing room to find clothes, her mood affected by Bai Yiyi’s call, taking twice as long as usual.
By the ti she erged from the dressing room, Mo Xiuchen had finished his call. His eyes fell upon her with a gentle curve of his lips, “Ranran, didn’t you find any clothes for ?”
Wen Ran blinked blankly, “I’m sorry, I forgot.”
“No worries, I can find clothes myself, but you need to accompany .” Mo Xiuchen smiled as he walked toward her and led her into the dressing room.
After freshening up, the couple held hands as they walked downstairs.
Today’s newspapers were already laid out on the living room coffee table. Little Liu stood by the couch, about to say sothing, but Mo Xiuchen gestured for him to leave, and he turned and departed.
Mo Xiuchen sat down on the sofa with Wen Ran, his long arm around her slim waist, drawing her into his embrace. He picked up the newspaper for them to look at together, “Ranran, no matter what’s written in the paper, don’t be upset.”
Before looking at the newspaper, Mo Xiuchen provided reassurance to Wen Ran.
The first thing Wen Ran saw was a photo on the newspaper. A flicker of shock traversed her eyes as she paused on the photo for two seconds, instinctively looking up at Mo Xiuchen and instinctively began explaining, “Mo Xiuchen, this photo was from the day Qin Mu and I were dining at Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion, and a waiter bumped into with soup. Qin Mu just abruptly pulled away in a hurry.”
