This was exactly what she wanted.
She said, "In that case, I’ll go first."
Just as she turned around, she saw Christopher and Jas.
"Hey, brother, Chris! Jas!" Sophie greeted them as usual.
Christopher didn’t speak, and his eyes fell on Janice.
Janice stared at Sophie in surprise. "What did you just call him?"
Sophie said, "Brother."
"You’re siblings?" Janice was in disbelief.
Sophie nodded. "You know my brother?"
Janice looked at Christopher, curiously waiting for him to introduce her.
Jas, who was standing by the side, was sweating. He thought to himself,
Just as Jas was nervous, Christopher looked at Janice and said, "Are you done eating? Let’s go ho."
Janice was still waiting for Christopher introducing her to Sophie. Upon hearing his words, she was a little surprised, and then she said, "Yes, I have, but..."
"Let’s go ho."
As he spoke, he reached out to grab her arm and was about to leave.
Janice took a few seconds to return her senses and then she responded, "Wait, my bag is still there."
As she spoke, she shook off his hand and returned to get her bag. Then she said to Yvonne, "I’m sorry. I may have to go. Jas said that he will pay the bill, so you can eat at your leisure."
Yvonne nodded. "Go ahead."
Only then did Janice leave with her bag. When she passed by Sophie, she nodded awkwardly.
Sophie stared at her departing figure with an extrely embarrassed look.
She had thought that Chris would at least introduce her, but she didn’t expect that he didn’t say anything at all.
Sophie felt extrely uncomfortable, so she left angrily.
After Janice left, Yvonne also had no appetite. She put down the cutlery, looked at Jas who was standing by the side, and sneered, "It seems that there is sothing happened between Christopher and that girl."
Jas answered, "Don’t ask . I don’t know anything."
He turned his head away.
Yvonne grimaced and said, "Forget about it!"
She picked up her bag and walked toward the stairs.
Jas caught up with her. "Wait for ."
Janice followed Christopher out of the shop in a confused state.
In the car, Janice fastened her seatbelt and complained, "Why are you leaving in such a hurry?"
Christopher glanced at her and said, "Nino should be hungry."
Janice was speechless.
She rembered that Sophie had called him brother just now and couldn’t help asking, "Is... is Sophie really your sister?"
Christopher frowned and said, "Kind of."
He drove the car out.
"What do you an by kind of?"
Janice was a bit speechless.
Christopher stared at her in resignation. "She is my father’s adopted daughter."
Janice was surprised by this answer.
She said, "Then why did you ignore her just now?"
...
She thought, "Although she was not his biological sister, he should at least say hello to her."
Christopher did not answer her question. He only asked, "How did you get to know her?"
Janice answered honestly, "I t her when I brought Nino to the hospital. She’s her veterinarian."
Christopher frowned. He actually forgot that Sophie studied veterinary dicine before.
He said, "Stay away from her."
Janice curiously asked, "Why?"
Christopher replied, "Just make sure that you do."
Janice looked at the side of his face and thought for a mont.
Then she seed to understand. "I see. Did she steal a lot of paternal love from you when you were growing up, and that’s why you don’t like her, right?"
Christopher did not say a word.
Since he didn’t reply, Janice just assud that she was right.
Thinking of this, she could understand Christopher’s mood and empathize with him.
After a while, she said, "Hubby, don’t worry. I will love you dearly in the future and make up for the love you lost since you were a child."
Christopher pulled a wry face when he heard what she said.
He shook his head in resignation.
After returning to the villa, Christopher went to make a phone call, and Janice carried Nino out of the kennel.
"Well, Chris has said that he cos back so early because he is worried that you would feel hungry. Please, eat your fill."
She poured out the dog food and put Nino down. Before she left, she thought of sothing. Thus, she stopped and looked at Nino, who was eating food.
The more Janice thought about it, the stranger she found the whole situation.
She thought that if she had the chance to et her again, she would surely get to the bottom of this.
However, she saw Sophie in the cafe the next day.
The cause was that the program team had found a woman nad Cecilia according to that email, and that girl introduced the protagonist of the story to the program team.
Therefore, Director Caleb took her to see the protagonist early in the morning.
Unexpectedly, she found out at the scene that the protagonist was actually Sophie Valen.
When Janice saw her, she was stunned.
"Sophie?"
"Janice?"
The two of them seed to be equally shocked. But the difference was that Janice’s reaction was genuine, whereas Sophie’s was feigned. However, her disguise was very good, and Janice was none the wiser.
Director Caleb stared at their reactions. "You know each other."
"We’ve t a few tis before," Janice replied.
"That’s good. Things will be easy since you know each other. How about this, Janice, you chat with Ms. Valen here. I have sothing to do at TV station so I’ll be back at first."
Since Director Caleb had said so, Janice could only agree.
However, she felt sorry for Christopher. After all, he had told her to stay away from Sophie yesterday.
However, she thought that since this was not a private visit, but for work, he could understand.
Thinking of this, Janice said with relief, "Sophie, I didn’t expect that it was you."
...
Janice was srized by Sophie’s story.
Sohow, she suddenly felt a little uncomfortable.
But she couldn’t figure out what exactly was wrong.
She said, "No matter what decision you make, we will respect it."
After all, everyone had his or her own choice and she had no right to interfere.
At the end, Sophie suddenly asked, "Well, you and Chris..."
Janice felt a little embarrassed. She didn’t want to tell her relationship with Christopher to Sophie.
Although Sophie was not his biological sister, she still wanted Christopher to introduce her to his family in person.
However, when she recalled Nathan’s attitude towards her, she felt that it was probably impossible.
So, she said in a self-deprecating way, "It seems that you should call sister-in-law, but I think Janice is better."
Sophie secretly sneered, but she quickly concealed it. "I also think it’s better to call you Janice. Well, I have sothing here that I need you to pass to Chris."
As she spoke, she took out an invoice from her bag and handed it over.
Janice took it and glanced at the contents. She confusedly asked, "What is this?"
Sophie said, "This is the invoice. Two days ago, I brought a gift from Switzerland for Chris. I was afraid that he wouldn’t like it, so I specially asked for this invoice. If he doesn’t like it, he can freely exchange it with it."
Only then did Janice realize that the expensive tie bar was given by Sophie.
She suddenly felt a little jealous.
At night, when Janice returned ho, she handed the invoice to Christopher.
Christopher took it and had a look. Then he asked, "What is this?"
"Can’t you see? Invoice," said Janice grumpily.
Christopher stared at her, puzzled. "Why are you giving this?"
Janice looked at her fingernail and said, "Sophie gave it to ."
Hearing this, Christopher’s face suddenly darkened.
"Didn’t I tell you not to et her?"
Janice felt a little guilty now. "I didn’t et with her on purpose. I just happened to run into her. She asked to pass it to you and told you that you could switch the gift out if you didn’t like it."
With a cold face, Christopher threw it aside.
Janice bit her lip when she saw his angry expression. "Why didn’t you tell it was from Sophie?"
"Is it important?" Christopher frowned.
Janice said, "Of course. From now on, you are not allowed to accept gifts from other won."
"Not even from your sister," Janice added in her heart.
Upon hearing this, Christopher who was angry just now, seed to understand sothing. He stepped forward and asked, "Are you jealous?"
"I am not. Don’t think too much," Janice said as she turned her head.
Christopher chuckled, "Okay, okay, okay. From now on, I only accept gifts from my wife."
Janice’s expression softened, but she still snorted, "However, I can’t afford to give you sothing so expensive."
Christopher chuckled, "I don’t like that kind of thing. I only like this one and this one."
He took out a pink shirt and flower-colored tie from the wardrobe.
Janice recognized the pink shirt. She had bought it for him when they just got
married, but that tie...
