Janice was embarrassed. She wouldn’t tell Christopher what had happened today so she replied, "It’s nothing, my stomach just feels a little uncomfortable. Um... I won’t be eating dinner tonight. I’ll take so antacid instead."

After that, she got up and went over to get the first aid kit.

Christopher stared at her as she left. He frowned, then he got up and handed her a glass of water.

"Drink so water."

Janice took the glass of water and took the dicine. Then, she suddenly recalled sothing and asked, "Hubby, do you have any photos from when you were younger?"

Christopher asked, "When I was younger? How young?"

Janice thought for a mont. "When you were about eighteen or nineteen?"

Christopher frowned. "Why?"

Of course, Janice wouldn’t tell Christopher about the photo she saw in the office. She blinked and continued, "Nothing, I just wanted to admire your handso face when you were young."

"When I was young?" Christopher narrowed his eyes and asked, "Am I very old now?"

Janice realized that she had misspoken and imdiately replied, "Of course not, I’m just curious if you’ve changed."

Christopher stared at her. After a pause, he said, "Wait a minute. I’ll go and look for it."

He got up and went upstairs.

It wasn’t until his figure had disappeared that Janice let out a sigh of relief.

She did not know why she was feeling guilty. She just wanted to confirm if the man in the picture was him. She didn’t have to beat around the bush.

She sighed and shook her head before returning to the sofa to lie down.

Maybe it was the effect of the antacid. She felt much better now.

She picked up the remote control and turned on the TV. It was the new food show that she had recently fild.

She hadn’t watched the show at all since the recording ended. She thought it was a good opportunity to binge watch it since she had ti to kill.

With that thought in mind, she sat up cross-legged on the sofa and watched carefully.

After a while, Christopher ca downstairs with a photo.

Seeing this, Janice imdiately sat up. "You found it?"

Christopher nodded. He walked to the sofa and sat down beside her.

"Quick, let have a look."

Janice raised her hand hurriedly, attempting to take the photo from him.

Christopher stared at her anxious expression and hid the photo away from her.

Janice was about to snatch the picture before she realized that Christopher had hidden it behind him again. "What’s wrong?"

Christopher stared at her intently. Monts later, he said, "To be fair, let’s exchange it with your photo of you when you were that age."

"Ah?" Janice was taken aback. She muttered in her heart, "No! I was grubby and thin when I was young and I wasn’t pretty at all. I wouldn’t want you to see it."

She replied, "I don’t have any pictures with now!" "Then I’ll wait for you to show before I show you mine." Christopher put the photo away. Janice pouted.

"You anie! Do you think that I can’t find it if you don’t show it to ? I’ll ask your grandpa for it tomorrow. He must have a lot of your pictures."

She got up and was about to leave before Christopher held her arm and said, "Okay, I’ll show you."

After saying that, he handed the photo to Janice.

"That’s more like it." Janice smiled.

She took the photo and held it in her hand, only to find that it was a passport photo.

It seed that the page was torn off from the passport.

But he looked so ravishing and youthful!

How handso!

Janice sighed when she recalled her own passport photo. It was so ugly!

That was the difference between her passport photo and his passport photo.

...

Janice held the photo and stared at it intently, admiring his beauty before she rembered her intention. "Let keep this."

Christopher stared at her. "Didn’t you say that you just wanted to take a look? Why do you want to keep it? What do you want to do to ?"

Janice felt guilty when he gazed at her. "I... what could I do with it?" "That’s hard to say. Maybe... you’ll peek at it when you miss ." He suddenly approached Janice sheepishly.

Janice felt guilty since she was caught red-handed. Indeed, that was her motive. But, how could she admit it? She imdiately pushed him away. "Stop it. I’ll keep it so I can count the pimples on your face. Look at the number of pimples on your face."

Christopher’s face darkened instantly. "No way!"

He was about to reach out and grab the picture from Janice.

"Yes, you have pimples!" Janice replied guiltily.

"Return the photo to ."

Christopher frowned.

"No!" Janice refused.

Then, she hid the photo behind her and ran to the study room.

The door was locked when Christopher caught up with her. He was denied entry to the room. He couldn’t help but chuckle when he thought of Janice’s childish behavior. Then he turned to leave.

Janice leaned against the door. It wasn’t until she heard the footsteps fade into a distance that she let out a sigh of relief.

"I really acted like a child just now." She thought.

She unlocked the door, turned around, and walked to the table. Then she opened her briefcase, took out the photo she brought back from the TV station, and compared them carefully.

She noticed that there was no need for the comparison. With a single glance, it was obvious that Christopher was the man in the photo.

"It really is him." She thought.

But, didn’t he hate Sophie very much?

He even forbade her from interacting with her.

It didn’t seem to be the case in the photo. The two of them looked very close in it. At

least, there were no signs of hatred or disgust in Christopher in that photo.

Janice was deep in thought. She still didn’t understand what was going on between them.

"Maybe Christopher didn’t hate Sophie after all?"

But why did he look so annoyed with Sophie that day?

The more Janice thought about it, the stranger she felt.

"Also, why was this photo on my desk? Who placed it there?"

She had to get to the bottom of this.

She kept both photos in her briefcase again and planned to ask around at work tomorrow.

She accidentally touched the ledger beside the table. After a pause, she picked it up and flipped through it casually.

She was reminded of her current financial predicant.

It was not that she couldn’t afford to pay for her als and daily expenses now. She had a credit card and had so money. It wouldn’t be an issue to pay for her daily expenses.

The key thing was, she had to pay back what she had borrowed.

Her salary was not enough to repay Yvonne, not to ntion all her expenses.

Nevertheless, she had to spend on food and other expenses. At worst, she could eat like a pauper and spend less.

With that thought in mind, she hurriedly took the ledger and decided to plan her future expenses.

"What are you writing?"

Just as Janice was writing, a voice could be heard. There was a waft of fragrance in the air, it was the pleasant sll of shower gel and shampoo. She quickly closed the ledger after sensing that Christopher was there.

"It’s nothing. Showered?"

Christopher was drying his wet hair. He glanced at the ledger that she had just put away in a hurry. If he rembered correctly, it was the ledger she used to record her expenses.

...

However, when Christopher rembered that Janice always had a habit of tracking her expenses, he didn’t pay much attention to it. Instead, he asked, "Is your stomach feeling better?"

Janice replied, "Yeah, much better."

"That’s good. It’s getting late. Go to bed early."

Janice thought of her budget planning and replied, "You go to sleep first. I still have unfinished work to do."

Christopher frowned. He was afraid that she would work late, so he reminded her. "Do you think it’s really good to work late on such a beautiful night?" He suddenly leaned close to her aningfully.

Caught by surprise, Janice was instantly overwheld by his charming good looks, but she swiftly recovered. "I... I really have a lot to do."

Christopher didn’t know what else to do, so he simply said, "How long will you be busy for? I’ll wait for you here."

He moved a chair to sit beside her.

Janice, on the other hand, felt a little guilty. How was she supposed to plan things out if he was around?

She said, "Hubby, you go up first. If you stay here, I won’t be able to concentrate." She tugged on his arm flirtatiously.

Christopher felt a little powerless to resist her rare coquettish behavior, so in the end, he compromised.

"Then I’ll go up first. If you are not up before 10 o’clock, I’ll co and bring you up in person."

"I promise." Janice nodded.

After watching him leave, she let out a sigh of relief and continued to write in her ledger.

The next day, Janice went to the office to find Director Caleb as soon as she arrived at the TV station.

"Janice, I was just going to find you. This is a part of the draft I’ve sorted out. Take it and have a look first."

Before she could ask anything, Director Caleb handed over the draft.

Janice accepted the draft but rembered the photo and asked, "By the way, Director Caleb, did you put a photo on my desk yesterday?"

"Photo? What photo?" Director Caleb was confused.

Janice paused for a mont before taking out the photo and handing it over. "This one."

Director Caleb a look and shook his head. "It wasn’t . However, I believe that’s Miss Valen on it. Might be part of the materials for our program."

"Materials?"

Janice’s heart jolted as she shook her head. "How is that possible? How can this be our material?"

Director Caleb said, "What’s impossible about that? Look, the two people in the photo seem to be a perfect match, sothing like childhood sweethearts? Believe , I’ve been a director for so long that I can tell what’s going on with just a glance."

As soon as Director Caleb finished speaking, he was called away by a staff mber.

Janice stood there in a daze.

Impossible. This was absolutely impossible.

How could the childhood sweetheart in Sophie’s story be Christopher?

He clearly hated Sophie Valen so much.

How could he be her childhood sweetheart?

This was absolutely impossible.

Her face turned cold as she thought of the draft that Director Caleb had just given her, if it was really Christopher, there must be sothing she could tell from it.

At this thought, she hurriedly returned to her seat and began to flip through the draft.

She found that almost every experience listed, from childhood to adulthood, was very detailed.

However, she had never participated in their growing up, so it was impossible for her to tell whether these had anything to do with Christopher.

But if that wasn’t the case, then what about that photo?

"Janice?"

While she was deep in thought, soone patted her on the shoulder.
