"Rock-paper-scissors!"
Janice didn’t win him anymore.
"I’m not playing anymore," said she with a little anger.
Christopher stared at her face and leaned over, asking, "Are you angry?"
"No," Janice said stubbornly.
Christopher had already noticed that she was angry, but she refused to admit it. He chuckled, "No? Your lips are pouting."
"No, I am not." Janice stood up and continued, "OK, ti’s over. You should go to the exhibition."
She was about to walk out.
Christopher followed her and asked, "What about you?"
"Why should I go back there? I don’t understand your business matters," said she gloomily.
Christopher frowned. "Then... as a reporter, shouldn’t you be more dedicated?"
Janice then rembered that she had to stay and tily report the closing ceremony of the exhibition.
Then she said, "Well, I’ll co with you."
As she spoke, she swaggered out.
Christopher stared at her and shook his head in resignation. However, when he recalled the question she had just asked, his eyes suddenly narrowed coldly.
The two ca back to the exhibition center.
However, this ti, she chose to be a qualified reporter. Instead of sitting with Christopher, she stayed in the area of reporters.
She picked up the cara and focused on her work.
And the seats in the exhibition center were already full.
The trade fair was about to begin.
All the businessn was looking forward to it.
Of course, Christopher was among them. Although his company didn’t completely belong to this industry, he was also determined to win the project.
At this ti, Jas, who was sitting next to him, ca over and said, "Chris, look, your father is over there."
Christopher looked over and saw Nathan sitting several seats away. Sophie sat on the left of him and Benjamin on the right. At this ti, he seed to be talking about sothing with Benjamin.
Christopher frowned.
In fact, he didn’t feel strange that his father would co here.
However, when Christopher thought of Jas, who was still sitting next to him and had a fiery temper, he did not say anything and withdrew his gaze.
Seeing that he did not say anything, Jas did not continue to ask.
At this ti, Nathan was talking about work with Benjamin.
Sophie sat there and heard them more or less. After the two of them finished chatting, she asked in a low voice, "Day, are you really going to do this?" She looked a little worried.
Nathan seed to see her worry and said, "Don’t worry, Dad knows what I am doing."
Then Sophie did not continue to ask. She subconsciously glanced at Christopher. She knew that she could not stop her father’s decision. Moreover, even if she had the ability to stop it, she would not. For her, no matter what the result was, it was good. Therefore she wouldn’t do anything that would hurt her benefit.
Moreover, she also wanted to see if Christopher would compromise in the end.
Thinking of this, her eyes beca fierce.
Christopher did not know what Nathan was thinking about.
When the fair started, he only stared at the stage. When he felt bored, he would look back at Janice who sat in the press box.
...
Unfortunately, every ti he looked at Janice, she was always diligently working.
Christopher stared at her devoted look, and his eyes gradually filled with appreciation.
Although this was not the first ti he had seen her working, he was still infected by her earnestness.
Sure enough, as she said, she seed to be more suitable for the job of a reporter. She was so charming when she worked seriously, and thus he only had eyes for her among so many reporters.
Gradually, Christopher was entranced by the scene. It was not until he t Janice’s eyes that he ca back to his senses and smiled at her.
However, Janice looked away proudly.
Christopher chuckled and looked away.
The interaction between the two was noticed by Sophie. She gritted her teeth and clenched her hands, which were on her legs, into fists.
Nathan noticed that sothing was wrong with her. Frowning, he asked, "What’s wrong?"
Only then did she hurriedly retract her gaze and shake her head with a smile. "Nothing."
When Nathan looked away, she regained her grim look.
The trade fair went very smoothly, but the results were unexpected. Nathan had beco the winner of the entire trade fair. What was more interesting was that several of his projects were robbed from his son.
Christopher didn’t care.
Anyway, he’d co here today for Janice. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to give them to Bateman Group.
At the end of the eting, Christopher got up and was about to go to the press box to look for Janice, but when he turned his head, he saw his father walking out in high spirits. Benjamin was chatting with him. They looked very congenial.
Christopher sneered, "My father has always been congenial to everyone, except for . I have been used to it."
He retracted his gaze and walked towards Janice.
At the press box, Janice was checking the pictures she had just taken while Christopher walked over.
"How is it? Can we leave now?"
Janice saw him and nodded. "Let’s go."
She slung her bag over her shoulder.
The two walked towards the exit, but were stopped by Denise as soon as they reached the door.
"Chairman is waiting for you," she said to Christopher.
Christopher frowned. "What’s the matter?"
"The chairman asked to invite you over. He didn’t say anything."
Hearing this, Christopher said to Janice, "Co with ."
"Wait, the chairman wants you to go alone," said Denise.
Without waiting for Christopher to reply, Janice said, "You can go by yourself. I still have work to do."
She didn’t seem to lie. Christopher paused and nodded. "Then rember not to run around when you are done. Wait for ."
"OK." Janice nodded and watched him leave. It was not until he entered the conference room that she left.
"Have you expected that there is a bigger challenge?" Denise asked.
Janice stopped and looked back at her. She knew Denise was mocking her but she didn’t mind.
"It seems that you know about it. However, I like to challenge myself."
...
Denise sneered, "Hopefully you can hold on. Don’t let the day co when you lose even more miserably than I did."
With that, she walked past her.
Janice frowned as she watched her leave.
When Christopher walked in, he saw Nathan and Benjamin sitting in their seats. The two heard the noise and looked up.
Compared to the disregard in Nathan’s eyes, Benjamin’s gaze was slightly strange.
Christopher ignored his gaze and walked over.
"You were looking for ?" Christopher said to Nathan.
Nathan pointed to the seat next to Benjamin and said, "Sit down."
However, Christopher did not follow his instructions. Instead, he deliberately went around to the furthest seat and sat down, saying, "If you have anything to say, just say it. I’m in a hurry."
He looked impatient.
Nathan didn’t pay much attention to his words. He just said, "I’ve heard that you have robbed several projects from Benjamin."
Christopher couldn’t help curling his lips sarcastically.
He sneered, "How can that be called ’rob’? Aren’t we just competing with strength?"
As he spoke, he glanced at Benjamin with a hint of sarcasm in his eyes.
Nathan didn’t care about his words and said, "Why don’t I exchange the projects I robbed from you today for those projects?"
"Exchange?" Christopher frowned.
Nathan said, "I appreciate Benjamin very much. He was such an energetic young man. I want to cooperate with him to develop those projects."
Christopher found it ridiculous.
"Since you think so, why don’t you cooperate with the ones you just got?"
"This is between and Benjamin," said Nathan.
"Since it’s between you and him, why did you call over?"
As Christopher spoke, he took out a cigarette and lit it. As soon as he smoked, the whole room was filled with smoke.
Nathan had never gotten used to the sll of cigarettes, so he imdiately coughed.
However, Christopher did not care at all and continued to smoke.
At this ti, Benjamin hurriedly handed Nathan a glass of water. "Are you all right?"
"I’m fine." Nathan waved his hand, and his face was slightly pale.
Benjamin then said to Christopher, "Smoking is not allowed in the room."
Christopher disdainfully said, "Really? The rules are set for you who abide by the rules. However, I don’t like to follow the rules."
As he spoke, he deliberately exhaled a mouthful of smoke in Benjamin’s direction.
Behind the smoke, Benjamin’s face changed, and there were traces of forbearance in his eyes.
Christopher looked into his eyes and didn’t care at all.
Later, Nathan could catch his breath. When he saw the two of them staring at each other, he said to Christopher, "What I told you just now was serious."
"I’m serious too. I can’t give up what I’ve got."
After saying that, he stood up and walked towards the door without waiting for Nathan’s response.
As soon as he walked out, he bumped into Sophie, who was about to co in.
"Chris." Sophie smiled to him.
Christopher didn’t even want to look at her. When he was about to ignore her, he rembered sothing and said, "You seem to have forgotten my warning."
Sophie was obviously stunned when she heard this, but she quickly pretended as if she didn’t understand and said, "Chris, what are you talking about?"
