"What are you doing?"

Holding onto the steering wheel, Janice replied, "I’m going to the airport to pick soone up."

"Pick soone up? Why are you doing this kind of work?"

Christopher frowned.

Janice said, "I made Lucy give this task. I don’t know why, but the TV station suddenly has no work for ."

Janice felt a little depressed.

Only then did Christopher rember sothing. He seed to have told Rob before that Janice has to be free on Wednesdays.

It was probably because of his suggestion that Janice had nothing else to do.

He had forgotten all about it because Old Mr. Allson had been admitted to the hospital.

When he thought of that, he hurriedly glanced at the calendar.

Sure enough, he had to make preparations.

With these thoughts, he hung up the phone and called Rob.

"Have you prepared what I asked you to?"

Rob nodded, "They are ready."

Christopher nodded.

"The plan will go on as planned."

"Yes."

Just as Christopher put the phone aside, it rang again. He picked it up. "Son, what are you doing?"

The voice on the other end of the line startled Christopher.

"Mom? Where are you?"

He subconsciously glanced at the phone.

"I’m already at the airport."

The voice of his mother, Alia Allson, ca from the other end of the line. Christopher frowned. "Don’t go anywhere else. I’ll pick you up right away."

He took his car keys and was about to get up when Alia said, "No need, I will just take a cab. You have to keep my return a secret."

Christopher said helplessly, "Got it."

After the call ended, he couldn’t help frowning. His unreliable mother hadn’t changed even after so many years.

He shook his head helplessly and put his phone aside to continue working.

In front of the airport of Tomaville.

Alidia stood in front of the airport and glanced at everything she was familiar with. Complicated emotions rose within her.

Back then, she had left with injuries. Who would have thought that when she returned a few years later, this place would still be the sa? It really hadn’t changed at all.

She sighed and put on her sunglasses before continuing forward. However, she suddenly realized that she was lost.

That was odd, had she rembered wrongly?

Why couldn’t she find the taxi stand? Alia took off her sunglasses. Just as she was looking around, a white Maserati stopped in front of her. The door opened and a woman in a light blue dress got out of the car.

Alia paused before pulling her luggage with her and approaching the woman.

"Excuse , where is the taxi stand?" She asked.

Soone asked Janice for directions as soon as she got out of the car. She looked around before pointing at a passage by the side and said, "Follow that passage and go straight ahead. The taxi stand is over there. However, you can call a taxi on the app in advance. You can go there when the car is reaching. Otherwise, the sun is too hot and you might get burnt easily."

Hearing her detailed explanation, Alia gratefully replied, "Thank you."

"You’re welco."

Janice continued forward.

Alia smiled as she watched the woman walk away. She said to herself, "That girl is truly pleasing to the eye. It’s a pity that my son already has a wife."

Alia sighed with regret and pulled her luggage towards the taxi stand.

When Janice entered the airport, she quickly found the person she was supposed to pick up.

It was a foreign correspondent, Jas.

She drove Jas from the airport. On the way, she saw soone asking for help from a distance.

A woman stood by the roadside with a black suitcase in her hand, waving to the cars coming and going.

...

However, it seed that no car was willing to stop.

Janice explained the situation to Jas, who was sitting in the back seat. Then, she parked the car on the side of the road.

She opened the door and got out of the car, only to find that it was the lady who had asked for directions at the airport.

"It’s you."

Alia was also stunned when she saw Janice coming out of the car. She then asked, "Can you give a ride? The taxi broke down."

Janice glanced at the taxi that was parked on the side and said, "Alright, get in."

After saying that, she reached out to take the luggage from Alia and put it in the trunk.

The two of them got in the car one after the other. Since Jas was in the back seat, Alia sat in the passenger seat.

She fastened her seatbelt and said gratefully, "Thank you."

"You’re welco."

Janice drove the car away.

On the way, Alia gazed at the scenery outside the window and couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.

"Tomaville has changed a lot in recent years."

Janice nodded. "It seems you haven’t returned for several years."

Alia smiled. "Indeed, it’s been several years."

Janice said, "No wonder. Tomaville has been developing quite well these past few years. Welco back."

She smiled at Alia.

Alia smiled too. "Thank you."

The car continued to move forward.

Alia suddenly asked in surprise, "Are you a reporter?"

Janice was stunned when she heard that. Then, she realized that Alia had seen her reporter’s license on the dashboard, so she nodded.

Alia replied, "What a coincidence, my daughter-in-law is also a reporter." "Is that so? What a coincidence," Janice said.

Alia replied, "Yes, but I haven’t t my daughter-in-law yet."

Her words reminded Janice of her mother-in-law, whom she had never t before.

However, Janice still smiled and said, "I believe that your daughter-in-law will be very happy to see you."

Alia nodded.

"By the way, I haven’t asked where you are going yet."

Alia thought for a mont and said, "Send to Tomaville Hospital."

Janice nodded and asked, "You won’t mind if I send this foreign friend of mine to a hotel first, would you?"

"Of course." Alia shrugged.

Janice sent Jas to the hotel before sending Alia to the hospital.

She parked the car, opened the trunk, and took out Alia’s luggage.

"It probably won’t be convenient for you to carry your luggage around like this."

Alia said, "It’s okay. Anyway, my son will pick up later."

Janice didn’t say anything else and just waved at Alia.

"Then... I’m leaving now. Goodbye."

"Goodbye." Alia waved at her. When the car drove away, she rembered that she had forgotten to ask Janice for her phone number. She wanted to thank her in the future.

Just as she was feeling regretful, a black rolls royce stopped in front of her. The door opened and a familiar figure got out of the car.

It was her son, Christopher.

When Alia saw her son, she reached out and gave him a big hug.

"Son."

Christopher let go of her.

"How long have you been waiting?"

Alia replied, "I just arrived."

Christopher didn’t say anything. He glanced at the luggage beside her and said, "I’ll take the luggage into the car first and then take you inside to see Grandpa."

Alia nodded.

After Christopher had put away his luggage, the two of them entered the hospital one after the other.

Unfortunately, Old Mr. Allson had just fallen asleep when they walked into the ward.

Upon seeing this, Alia instructed in a low voice, "Let’s not bother your grandfather. Let’s wait outside for a while."

Christopher nodded and the two of them crept out of the ward.

They found a bench in a small park outside the hospital and sat down.

...

Alia carefully looked at her son. After not seeing him for more than half a year, he seed to have changed. As for what had changed, she couldn’t say. In short, he gave off a different feeling.

Alia felt that this was inconceivable. After all, no one knew her son better than her. Did he mature because of his marriage?

Finding this likely, Alia inquired, "Where is my daughter-in-law?"

Hearing his mother’s question, Christopher paused and said, "She has to work."

Alia nodded.

"I heard from your grandfather that she is a reporter."

Christopher nodded.

Alia said, "I encountered so trouble at the airport just now and a helpful reporter helped out."

"Is that so?"

Alia smiled and said, "So, I am very fated with reporters. I can’t wait to see this daughter-in-law of mine. How about it? When will you bring her to see ?"

Alia looked at Christopher.

Christopher was stunned by his mother’s eager gaze. He said, "Don’t worry, you’ll see her soon."

"How soon is soon?" Alia asked.

Christopher couldn’t help but frown. "Is there a need to rush?"

He felt rather helpless when he saw Alia’s eager gaze, "I’ll call her now. Is that okay?"

Only then did Alia look away in satisfaction.

Christopher called Janice.

In the TV station.

After Janice returned to the station, she once again had nothing to do.

Her colleagues around her were busy, and in contrast, she had nothing to do. Finally, she couldn’t help but walk up to Lucy and ask, "Is there really nothing I can help with?"

Lucy shook her head apologetically. However, she seed to have thought of sothing and said, "You’ve realized that ever since we returned, our news departnt has changed. In the past, we were responsible for our own resources, but now, it’s suddenly the director who gives out all the assignnts."

Only after hearing Lucy’s words did Janice notice this issue. "Now that you ntion it, that does seem to be the case."

"Why don’t you go ask the director?" Lucy suggested.

However, Janice sighed, "I did, and the director told that he gave the resources to others since I applied for a long leave."

Hearing her words, Lucy was at a loss. "Then you can continue with your vacation. Anyway, you don’t lack money."

Janice replied, "That’s true, but I am really bored."

She asked for leave in order to take care of Old Mr. Allson, but he didn’t let her go to the hospital and she couldn’t possibly stay at ho all day.

But she also had nothing to do when she ca to work.

When she thought of that, Janice sighed. She picked up her phone and made to leave.

Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a call from Christopher. She picked it up.

"Let’s have lunch together at noon," Christopher said.

Janice glanced at the ti. There was still half an hour left. She nodded. "Okay."

"Why are you sound so listless?" Christopher asked.

"Nah!" Janice imdiately pulled herself together.

"That’s good. I’ll send you the address later."

"Okay."

After hanging up, Christopher looked at Alia and asked, "Are you satisfied now?"

Alia smiled dotingly in response.

Just then, two nurses walked past them.

"The old man in the VIP ward has a bad temper. I hear him losing his temper every ti I walk by."

"That’s right. I heard that he was a rich man when he was young."

"No wonder."

The conversation between the two grew softer as they walked away.

However, Christopher and Alia exchanged glances. Then, the two of them stood up at the sa ti and walked towards the ward.
