Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband Chapter 191: Don’t You Know Who Is Janice Gladwell?
Janice Gladwell stood there, motionless, even as the door closed behind Benjamin Taylor.
Her mind was a little confused, and the words that Benjamin had just said kept echoing in her ears.
"Have you ever thought that he may no longer care about you?"
No, no, he wouldn’t.
"But why didn’t he co to find ?"
"Maybe they have not found yet?"
That’s right, it must be too difficult to find where she was being locked up, and he had not found her yet.
Yes, that must be it.
Early the next morning, Alia Allson ca out of her father’s hospital room and gave Rob Hanson a call. Strangely, Alia could not get through to him, puzzled, she asked Christopher Bateman.
"Chris, why can’t I get in touch with Rob? Did you send him out for an errand or a job?"
In his room, Christopher Bateman, who was resting with his eyes closed, was stunned when he heard this. "I haven’t seen Rob for quite a few days. Is he not in the company?"
Alia tidied up the things on the table as she said, "Maybe he’s busy. Call the company and ask them. I have sothing to talk to him about."
Christopher paused for a mont before calling him.
"Mr. Bateman."
It was Cecilia Oden who answered the phone.
Christopher asked, "Where’s Rob?"
On the other side of the phone, Cecilia looked at Sophie Valen who was sitting opposite her. After receiving Sophie’s instructions, she said.
"Rob is on a business trip."
"Business trip?"
Christopher frowned. He did not rember that he had arranged for Rob to go on a business trip, but since his secretary had said so, he did not doubt it and hung up the phone.
"Sophie, I’ve done exactly what you told to do."
After hanging up the phone, Cecilia looked at Sophie and said.
Sophie picked up the coffee cup by her side and took a sip before saying, "Don’t worry, I won’t skimp on your rewards."
When Cecilia heard this, a happy smile tugged at the corner of her mouth, but she asked, "By the way, where did Rob go?"
Her words made Sophie’s face turn cold. "Don’t poke your nose into what you shouldn’t know."
"Oh." Cecilia stamred.
Sophie, on the other hand, was no longer in the mood to stay. With an unfriendly expression, she stood up. "If you want to eat anything else, order it yourself and put it on my tab."
Her voice was no longer as gentle as before. Instead, it was full of arrogance. After saying that, she turned around and walked towards the door with a stone face. Cecilia glanced at her back, wondering why she was so full of herself.
Back at the hospital, Christopher hung up the phone and said to Alia, "Rob is on a business trip."
"No wonder." Alia frowned, but she thought of sothing else. "Oh yes, and Janice. Logically speaking, she should be done with providing assistance to the police right? We haven’t seen her co to the hospital the last couple of days."
Alia complained as she wondered what was going on. Christopher, however, furrowed his brows.
"You just said Janice? Who is that?"
Alia was drinking water next to the water dispenser, when she heard this. Her hand shook violently, and the water spilled onto her. She moved away and looked at Christopher, in shock.
"Son, what’s wrong?"
Christopher was at a loss faced with his mother’s astonishnt.
Alia seed to have just discovered sothing. She put the cup aside, walked forward and said.
"Son, do you know who is Janice?" She wanted a confirmation.
Christopher Bateman shook his head.
Bang! Alia Allson’s mind felt as though it had been struck by lightning.
What exactly was going on?
Christopher actually said that he did not know who is Janice. She was his WIFE!
...
Alia Allson widened her eyes in shock, but she suddenly had another thought. She turned around and left the room in a panic. Christopher Bateman, however, stared at Alia’s hurried figure and frowned in confusion.
"What’s the matter?"
Why was it strange that he did not know who was Janice?
In the doctor’s office.
Alia rushed to look for Christopher’s attending doctor and explained what had happened. After knowing that he had amnesia, she was completely stunned.
Why did no one tell her that her son had lost his mory?
Then what about Janice?
Alia ca out of the doctor’s office. Everything was so surreal.
How could such a thing happen?
While she was wondering about this, she ran into Nathan Bateman, who was walking along the corridor. Their eyes t and both stopped walking at the sa ti. Staring at Nathan in front of her, Alia thought of what the doctor had just said. She stepped forward and asked angrily.
"Did you already know that our son has lost his mory?"
Nathan was not surprised by her question at all. In fact, he did not intend to hide it from her, so he nodded.
"Why didn’t you tell earlier?" She said with anger.
Nathan was calm. "So what if I were to tell you? You and I are not doctors."
"Nathan Bateman, you are still as selfish as ever. Don’t think that you can control your son just because he doesn’t rember anything. With here, you can forget about it."
Alia Allson roared.
Nathan frowned. "He’s my son, Wanda. Why do you always think I’m so an?"
"It’s not what I think. It is the truth. It’s simply that you’re that sort of a person. Let tell you this, don’t even think about it."
Alia walked past him and went in the other direction. She imdiately called the police. As expected, she got the answer as soon as she asked.
The police did not summon Janice Gladwell over to assist in the investigation, so this was all a lie made up by them.
Then where was Janice?
Knowing that sothing was wrong, Alia walked towards the ward in a rush.
Back in his room, Christopher stared at the ceiling with his eyes wide open. He thought of the na "Janice". The na he had heard quite a few tis in the last few hours. Who was she? Why did this na sound so familiar? But he just could not rember such a person.
Who exactly is she?
Why was his mother’s reaction so strange just now?
While he was wondering, the door opened from the outside. He turned to look and saw that it was his father, Nathan Bateman, so he simply closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. What’s more, he was still a patient, so Nathan would not argue with him.
He didn’t want to see his father.
Nathan walked over and glanced at his closed eyes. He knew that Christopher was pretending to be asleep. He was accustod to his son’s temper.
Nathan asked, "Have you felt better recently?"
Christopher did not open his eyes. He just snorted as a response.
Nathan did not force Christopher to talk to him and only said, "Have a good rest. I’ll find soone to keep an eye on things at the company."
Christopher did not say a word and just lay there quietly.
Nathan wanted to say sothing more, but when he saw that his son did not want to talk to him, he shut his mouth and was about to turn around to leave, when the door opened from the outside again.
"Nathan Bateman, get the hell out of here!!!!!!"
Alia Allson shouted nacingly.
Nathan glanced at Alia’s red face and figured out what was going on. He turned around, glanced at Christopher behind him, who seed unaffected. He then turned around and walked towards Alia.
...
The two of them walked out of the room and when the door closed, Alia Allson asked.
"Tell , where is Janice?"
Nathan Bateman did not look at her with a guilty conscience. "How would I know where she went?"
Alia knew Nathan well enough. As soon as he lied, he would not dare to look directly into her eyes. She exposed him rcilessly and said, "Nathan Bateman, don’t pretend with . Hurry up and release Janice Gladwell!"
She questioned him relentlessly, but Nathan just frowned.
"Wanda, don’t you think that that woman is only a burden to Chris?"
"I don’t think so." Alia said, "I only know that she is the woman that your son tried to protect with his life."
Her eyes were very determined. However, Nathan looked away.
"That’s just your illusion. Anyway, I won’t tell you."
"You..."
"Miss Wanda, the old man vomited blood again."
At this mont, Nanny Daisy appeared.
Alia could not be bothered to argue with Nathan when she heard this, and she hurriedly walked towards Old Mr. Allson’s ward.
Seeing this, Nathan hurriedly followed her.
However, after the two of them left in a rush, Christopher, who had been standing behind the door, opened the door and walked out. Covering his painful wound, he stood at the door and watched the two walked away along the corridor, with a slight frown.
The woman he protected with his life?
Why did he have no impression of it at all?
At this mont, his curiosity was piqued.
Back in the villa on the outskirts.
As soon as breakfast was served on the table, Janice Gladwell rushed into the bathroom with her hand over her mouth. She did not know why she felt nauseous whenever she saw greasy food. However, when she reached the bathroom, she had nothing to throw up. She just felt nauseated. She leaned against the sink and retched for a while, but there was nothing. When she looked up and saw herself in
the mirror, she could not help feeling depressed.
She missed Christopher. She missed him so much.
She wanted to see him. She desperately wanted to see him.
After Benjamin Taylor had left last night, she did not sleep all night but tossed and turned in bed until dawn. She did not know what was wrong with her but she actually took his provocative words seriously. She knew it was not right.
He pampered her so much that he even used his life to protect her.
But what about her?
When he needed her the most, she could not take care of him by his side. She was a disappointnt to him.
She suddenly made a decision.
She could not wait any longer. She had to see Christopher.
But how could she get out of here?
Since the last ti she had failed to escape with Lucy White, the skylight on the roof had been sealed. She had no way to escape now. She felt helpless and anxious.
"What should I do?" She thought.
In her panic, she thought of Benjamin.
Yes, he had said that he could take her out.
However, she could not agree to his condition.
She would never give Christopher up.
Janice gave up on that idea. She had to find another way to get out of here.
Her stomach suddenly growled. Only then did she tidy herself up and walked out of the bathroom. She did not like the breakfast, but in order to keep physical strength, she forced herself to eat.
When she got bored, she watched the programs on the TV. She switched to the news channel of Tomaville TV Station.
Just then, the Thirty Minutes News was broadcasting. When she saw the familiar faces of her colleagues on the screen, she suddenly felt nostalgic.
The cara turned, and suddenly, Christopher Bateman’s face appeared on the screen.
She was instantly dumbfounded.
