It was Benjamin Taylor. She had asked Benjamin to help her pass the ssage to Nathan Bateman.

Janice Gladwell knew that he was calling back to let her know the response from Nathan, so she picked up the call.

"Janice, have you thought through this carefully?" Benjamin said.

Janice nodded. "I have."

Benjamin paused for a mont then said, "Since you’ve made up your mind, co out. I’m at the gate of the hospital."

Janice Gladwell was surprised. As she walked out of the hospital, she saw Benjamin’s car parked at the gate. She walked over and he rolled down the window. "Get in the car."

Janice opened the door of the passenger seat and got in. She asked him curiously, "How did you know that I’m here?"

Benjamin drove the car out and replied matter-of-factly, "I called Yvonne." Janice was quiet after this.

Benjamin glanced at her and said, "You don’t have to see Nathan Bateman. If you want to know where Christopher has been transferred to, I can find soone to check it out."

"I know, but even if you do, can you guarantee that I can see him?" She looked at him.

Benjamin was silent.

Janice continued, "So, in the end, it’s still Nathan Bateman whom I have to get pass."

This matter was entirely under Nathan’s control, so she could only choose this path.

Benjamin knew that with Nathan’s ans, since he had switched Christopher to another place, he must be in total control. He did not say anything more and just drove to the

Once they reached their destination, he turned to Janice, "He’s inside. Go on."

Nodding her head, Janice unfastened her seatbelt and walked out of the car with no hesitation. Benjamin stared at her back then shut his eyes in annoyance.

Janice walked into the cafe and saw Denise Kelshore waiting for her at the door.

"Follow ."

Denise Kelshore void of any expression.

Janice followed her upstairs to a very quiet corner where Nathan was sited.

Nathan was fiddling with the paper cup in front of him as he sipped from another coffee mug. Janice rooted on the spot for a second, briefly hesitated before walking up.

"Take a seat."

Nathan opened his mouth, but his eyes never left the paper cup in front of him. Janice sat down across him. Nathan had also gotten a cappuccino for her. He motioned to her that the cappuccino in front of her was hers to have.

Janice did not touch it. Instead, she went straight to the point. "Where is Chris?"

Nathan acted as if he did not hear her question. He calmly picked up his mug, took another sip, put it down, and said.

"You don’t have to know that."

He did not look at her. It was his way to show contempt towards her. Janice knew that she had never received the slightest bit of respect ever from Nathan.

She did not beat around the bush and said, "I’m legally his wife."

"So what?" Nathan jabbed.

Janice gritted her teeth.

"I have the right to see him."

"So, you’re here to talk to about legal rights today?" Nathan raised his eyebrows.

Janice clenched her fists. "That’s right."

...

Nathan saw her nervousness and smirked.

"If that’s the case, you can leave now. You do not have any authority over ."

Nathan continued to drink his coffee, treating her as if nonexistent. Janice knew that she was being chased away, but she didn’t move.

She had not reached her goal, so how could she be willing to leave just like that? She looked at Nathan and said riskily, "I can promise you anything except leaving him."

When Nathan heard her words, he thought she was a joke.

"But I don’t need it. You are of no value to ."

You are of no value to ...

This was undoubtedly the most devastating thing to hear.

Janice lowered her gaze. She knew that she was insignificant, and she did not even have the slightest bargaining chip.

But to hear the words coming out of Nathan’s mouth, her world instantly collapsed on her.

She was upset with herself for being worthless. If she still had so sort of value to Nathan, she might be able to use that to see Chris.

But, she had nothing.

She sat there, her heart so heavy that it felt like a mountain pressing onto her, making it hard for her to breathe.

She could no longer sit still. She slowly stood up and was about to leave. "What? You’re giving up just like that?" Nathan’s voice ca from behind.

Janice stopped and turned around. She looked at Nathan with a puzzled look. What did he an?

Nathan took another sip of coffee then put down his mug.

"I can let you see Chris, but you need to promise one thing."

Hope was instantly ignited in Janice’s eyes when she heard this.

"What is it?"

Nathan did not speak. He just took out a docunt and threw it on the table.

"What is this?" Janice was confused.

Nathan said, "Look at it and you’ll know."

Janice’s gaze fell on the docunt. She paused for a mont before reaching out for the papers. She was flabbergasted by what she was reading.

"Divorce Agreent?"

She looked at Nathan in alarm.

Nathan nodded.

"Yes, as long as you sign your na on it, I will let you see my son."

He threw a pen on the table, but because he had exerted too much strength, the pen bounced off the table and fell to the ground, landing right next to her feet.

Staring at the pen, Janice tightly clenched the agreent in her hand and gritted her teeth to suppress the rage in her heart.

"I won’t sign it."

She placed the agreent down on the table.

"This is your only chance to see him. Are you sure you want to give him up?" Nathan raised an eyebrow.

"I won’t sign it."

Nathan sneered, "Then you’ll never see him again in your life."

"Nathan Bateman, you are so despicable!"

Janice finally could not take it anymore. She took out her phone and pressed play.

In an instant, all of the words that Nathan had just said monts ago, were played over the phone’s speaker.

"I have recorded our conversation. You are also a reputable entrepreneur. If people were to find out that you bullied a frail woman in such a despicable way, what would they think of you?"

She had wanted to avoid this confrontation but Nathan had pushed her to the brink.

Nathan was exceptionally calm. In fact, after hearing her threats, he even chuckled.

...

"What are you laughing about?"

Janice Gladwell was taken aback by his reaction.

Nathan Bateman looked at her. "You can give it a try. I think the eyes of the people are bright. As a father, I am just getting rid of a shaless woman for my son."

Nathan was not threatened at all.

Janice was incensed by the word ’shaless’. "How am I shaless? I have a clean conscience and background."

"Clean?" Nathan let out a laugh, then threw another contract on the table. "Look at this before you talk about innocence with ."

Another unexpected move. Janice reached out for the contract. However, after reading it, she was baffled.

"What is this?"

Nathan was delighted to give an explanation.

"Your father has already accepted the Batemans’s divorce and living expenses, which is not a small amount of money. All we need now is for you to sign the divorce agreent to complete the process. If I make this arrangent public, do you think you’ll still be innocent and clean from dirt?"

Janice stared at the agreents in disbelief.

She flipped through the papers again. This ti, she noticed that the paynt was six million dollars in total, and her father’s signature was on the agreent.

So he was paid the six million dollars?

Janice froze on the spot.

How could her father accept the money from the Batemans? This was no different from using her as a trading commodity. As if she was an item for sale.

"I won’t sign it. I don’t want this money."

She started to panic and the confidence in her eyes was gone.

Nathan, however, mocked, "Do you really think that a marriage is just a matter for only two people? Since your last na is Gladwell and so you are implicated in your father’s actions. You have the responsibility too."

"I don’t care what you say. I won’t sign it."

Janice shook her head.

Seeing how stubborn she was, Nathan frowned and said, "It’s not up to you whether you will or will not sign it. I’ll give you three days. After three days, either you choose to have your family’s assets frozen or take this money and go far away."

As soon as he finished speaking, Nathan stood up and walked out of the

As soon as he left, Benjamin Taylor ca in. He was a little worried, so he ca in to look for her, but he did not expect that as soon as he arrived, Nathan had left. He saw Janice was just standing there. As if she was in another space, her soul suck from her body. Her eyes were dull, and she did not react when he walked close.

"Janice?"

Benjamin called out softly. Seeing that she did not respond, his eyes subconsciously fell on the papers on the table. Since the agreents were flipped open, he could see the contents at a glance.

He was shocked.

"This is..."

Janice did not wait for him to finish his question, and had turned around to leave like a gust of wind. Benjamin felt that sothing was wrong. He hurriedly picked up the papers and caught up with Janice.

But by the ti he was out of the café, it was too late. Janice had already left in a cab. He quickly got into his car and followed her. Sensing sothing strange about the route that they were taking, he gave a call to Yvonne White.

Not long after, the cab stopped in front the Gladwell Group. After paying the bill, Janice opened the car door and got out.

The Gladwell Group building and compound had changed totally. The building was refurbished and looked extrely modern while the compound was adorned with lush greeneries and beautiful flowered shrubs. The entrance had also been renovated with new modern gates.

Janice walked in nonchalantly. Along the way to the main office, she saw balloons and ribbons as well as congratulatory flower hampers and baskets.

Obviously, there was a celebratory party going on.
