Throughout the night, Janice couldn’t sleep.
The next day, she went to the TV station with bags under her eyes.
"Janice."
As soon as Janice entered the TV station, Lucy caught up with her.
"Morning."
"Morning." Lucy stared at her eyes and asked, "It seems that you didn’t sleep well last night."
Janice felt a little embarrassed. If she said that she couldn’t sleep because of a kiss, Lucy might laugh at her.
When they arrived at the office, they sat down at their desks.
"Janice, do you think Director Taylor has a girlfriend?" Lucy suddenly asked. Janice wondered, "How would I know if Benjamin had a girlfriend?" She shook her head and said, "I don’t know."
"Do you know if he had a girlfriend before?"
Hearing Lucy’s question, Janice asked confusedly, "Why do you ask?"
Lucy said shyly, "I just want to know what kind of girl he likes."
Janice frowned. She might know what kind of girls Benjamin used to like, but she didn’t know him now.
After all, people change.
If he hadn’t changed, then how would that explain what he did three years ago? Thinking of this, Janice said, "If you want to know, you can ask him."
Lucy glared at her. "How can I be so straightforward? Forget it, I still have a draft to write."
After finishing her words, Lucy went back to her seat and began to work.
However, Janice’s good mood was destroyed.
When she was about to get off work in the afternoon, Christopher called her and told that he would et her at the door after work.
However, when she packed up her things and was about to leave, she was stopped by Chief Gray.
"Janice, you have to participate in the promotional cocktail party tonight."
Janice confusedly asked, "Chief, are you mistaken? How could it be ? Isn’t it Linda Zimrs’?"
Chief Gray said with an unnatural expression, "She has other things to do. You have to replace her."
"But..."
Janice was about to refuse.
Chief Gray interrupted, "It is a very important party, and concerns the business of our TV station in the next quarter. You have to make a good impression."
Finishing his words, Chief Gray left directly, leaving Janice depressedly standing there.
"Are you kidding ? Tell where I could get an evening dress. I can’t just go in a professional dress."
As Janice was glumly mulling over this, Benjamin ca over.
As soon as Janice saw him, she imdiately turned to leave.
"Janice."
He stopped her.
Janice unwillingly stopped. "Director Taylor, what’s the matter?"
Benjamin walked over and handed her a paper bag. "Here you are."
"What?" Janice confusedly asked.
Benjamin answered, "The dress for the party. I’ll wait for you in the car."
Then he placed the paper bag in her arms and turned to leave.
Janice speechlessly held the paper bag. After she put on the dress, she felt even more depressed.
Was this dress specially prepared for her?
Why did it fit her so well?
At this ti, her phone suddenly rang. She imdiately answered it.
It was from Christopher.
Then Janice rembered that she had made an appointnt with Christopher. What should she do?
She forgot to tell him.
Thinking of this, she quickly said, "I’m sorry, Christopher. I have a sudden interview and can’t go back with you. You go back first."
...
Before Christopher could reply, the phone was hung up. He frowned and was about to drive the car. The phone rang again. It was Daniel.
"Chris, I have a promotional cocktail party here tonight. Do you want to co over?"
Christopher glanced at the ti. It was still early.
He didn’t know when Janice would finish her work, so he replied, "I’ll be right there."
In the TV station, Janice put away the phone and walked out.
Since she seldom wore this kind of dress, she felt quite awkward. As soon as she ca out of the building, she saw Benjamin standing at the door and waiting for her.
She paused for a while and stepped forward. "Director Taylor, can we leave now?" She said in a businesslike tone.
Benjamin turned around and looked at her. Such a light blue inclined-shoulder dress made her look elegant and refined.
Benjamin’s face lit up with surprise. It was just the image he had envisioned. When he saw this dress last night in the store, he knew it was perfect for Janice, so he bought it.
However, he was still taken aback by her appearance.
Janice felt uncomfortable under his gaze. She couldn’t help reminding him, "Director, shall we leave now?"
Then Benjamin returned to his senses, and said, "Let’s go."
The two walked out of the building.
Benjamin stopped in front of a black Porsche Cayenne and opened the door for her.
Janice had intended to drive her own car, but she realized that she might drink at the party.
It was better to take this offer of a lift instead.
Benjamin got in the car and then drove out.
Along the way, the two remained silent.
Occasionally, Benjamin took a glance at Janice while she kept looking out of the window and seed to have no intention of speaking.
After a while, he asked, "Do you want to listen to so music?"
Janice answered, "Whatever."
Then Benjamin turned on the music. It was a very soothing piano songâ€Â"Marriage D’Amour.
Janice rembered the first ti she heard this song. It was in the music classroom.
At that ti, she was stunned by the beautiful notes coming out of the classroom.
And the person who was playing the piano walked straight into her heart.
Since then, she had had a huge crush on that person, and that person was Benjamin Taylor.
Now she was hearing it in his presence again.
"Janice, do you still rember this song?" Benjamin asked.
Janice collected her thoughts, lowered her eyes, and said blandly, "I don’t rember."
To be exact, she didn’t want to rember. Benjamin frowned. "Janice, in fact, I..." "Director Taylor, can you turn off the music?"
Janice interrupted him. She really didn’t want to recall those past events.
Benjamin paused for a while and finally turned off the music.
The car was quiet again. After that, the two did not speak. Finally, the car stopped at the door of the banquet venue.
Janice unfastened the seat belt and got out of the car, without waiting for Benjamin.
Benjamin caught up with her and grabbed her arm. "Janice, you are my partner tonight."
He stretched out his arm and asked her to hold him.
Janice hesitated for a mont before putting her arm around him.
