He called her, only to find that her phone had been turned off.

Christopher frowned, feeling a little uneasy.

"It’s so late, and I can’t get through. Did sothing happen?" Thinking of this, he called Rob.

He had told Rob to send soone to follow her..

Not long after, Rob sent him a location.

Christopher frowned as he stared at the location Rob had sent him. Wasn’t that the headquarters of Delta Industry?

What was Janice doing there?

He took his car key and went out.

At this ti, in front of the headquarters of Delta Industry, Janice and the caraman were sitting on the ground. Each of them was eating a piece of bread with relish.

"Janice, we shouldn’t continue staying here. No one cares about us since they’re off work."

The caraman coaxed.

However, Janice looked up at the floor where the lights were still on and said, "I have checked, the general manager of Delta Industry has a habit of staying in the company till eight o’clock every day. There are still five minutes before eight. I believe he will co out soon."

Hearing her words, the caraman stopped asking.

Sure enough, it didn’t take long for the lights in the building to go out.

Janice quickly patted the caraman and said, "He’s coming down."

As she spoke, she clapped her hands and stood up.

Hearing this, the caraman quickly stuffed the bread that had not been finished into his mouth and stood up.

Janice and the caraman squatted on the edge of the flower bed. When the door of the building opened, they rushed forward.

"Excuse , Mr. Norman, what’s your response to the accident of workers falling off the Delta Building construction site?"

The man probably did not expect that there would be reporters. As he dodged, several bodyguards imdiately rushed forward to stop them.

Janice could only try her best to ask her questions. However, it was at this mont that a few n dressed like laborers suddenly appeared from nowhere and rushed

over with their weapons.

There was a physical conflict between the two sides, and the scene fell into chaos.

Janice was caught in the middle of the two groups. Before she could dodge, she was pushed to the ground.

She was about to get up when she felt a pain in her hand. Soone stepped on her.

When the man finally moved his foot away, her hand was already numb from the pain.

Moreover, she found that her foot was sprained and she couldn’t stand up. She could only watch the two groups of people fighting more and more ferociously, but she couldn’t do anything.

Soone called the police and soon, a siren sounded. A large group of uniford policen quickly controlled the two groups of people fighting.

The caraman followed to take footage.

Janice was lying on the ground in so much pain that she was about to burst into tears. Just as she was feeling helpless, a bright car light shone on her, and then a black Rolls-Royce stopped.

The door opened and Christopher got out of the car. Seeing Janice sitting on the ground, he rushed to her and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Janice was stunned when she saw Christopher. She endured the pain and asked instead, "Why are you here?"

Christopher didn’t answer. His gaze fell on the back of her red and swollen hand, as well as the ankle that she was covering with her other hand. They were all red and swollen.

His eyes darkened. He reached out and picked her up from the ground and walked toward the car.

They arrived at the hospital without saying a word. Christopher carried her into the ergency room.

The doctor bandaged the wound and prescribed so dicine to relieve the swelling.

After everything was finished, Christopher carried her back to the car. It was already past nine pm.

...

Janice sat in the passenger seat and glanced at Christopher, who was driving. Then she rembered to ask, "By the way, how did you know I was there?"

Christopher would never tell her that he had sent soone to follow her. He glanced at Janice and said, "I was just passing by."

"Oh."

Janice didn’t doubt him, she was thinking that after the conflict tonight, the situation might have changed for the worse. Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but worry. She didn’t notice Christopher’s sullen face.

When they got ho, Christopher cooked a simple dinner for her.

However, Janice had no appetite. She was still thinking about the interview.

She thought that she must write the draft out tonight and publish it imdiately. Otherwise, once the public got hold of it, it would be very unfavorable to the workers.

Thinking of this, she put down the tableware and said, "I’m full."

As she spoke, she stood up.

"Wait."

Christopher spoke.

Janice was just about to hop on one foot into the study when she heard Christopher.

She had no choice but to stop and turn around to look at him in confusion.

Christopher’s face darkened further. He stood up and walked up to her. He pressed her against the chair and asked, "Where are you going?"

Janice said, "I’m going to write a news draft."

Christopher frowned. "You dare to try."

His voice was full of warning.

Janice, however, was taken aback. "Christopher, today’s matter is really urgent. I have to get the draft out and send it out overnight."

Christopher ignored her words and said, "I don’t care how urgent the matter is. I only know that your hand is injured and you need to rest."

However, Janice quickly said, "It doesn’t hurt anymore after I applied the dicine."

As she spoke, she raised her injured left hand high.

Christopher stared at her and didn’t say anything. His expression was very cold.

It was only then that Janice seed to realize sothing. She asked tentatively, "Christopher, are you angry?"

Christopher glanced at her grumpily. "What do you think?"

Janice blinked her eyes. He was really angry.

She said, "I’m really fine. Just let write, or I’ll miss the best opportunity." She bit her lips and said in a light tone.

Christopher ignored her. Instead, he picked her up and walked towards the bedroom. "OK Christopher, OK?"

He put Janice on the sofa, looked into her big expectant eyes, and sighed resignedly. "Wait."

Then he turned around and went out.

It didn’t take long for him to co back with a laptop in his hand.

Janice blinked and was about to reach out to take it when she was firmly held back by Christopher. He didn’t an to give it to her.

Janice was surprised. Just as she was about to say sothing, Christopher sat beside her with the laptop.

He turned on the computer and said while fiddling with it, "Tell , I’ll type."

Janice was surprised. She didn’t expect Christopher to suggest typing for her.

My hand is injured. I would be typing very slowly.

If Christopher were to help, he might be able to do it faster.> The thought ward her heart.

She nodded. "Thank you, Christopher."

After that, she read out her idea while he typed.

Just like that, they worked together for an hour, and a news article was born.

In the end, under Janice’s instruction, he successfully sent it off along with the video.

After Christopher did everything according to Janice’s request, he turned around and found that Janice had fallen asleep on his shoulder.

...

He stared at Janice sleeping on his shoulder. He frowned deeply and then gently put down the computer, picked her up, and walked toward the bed.

The next day, it was already past 10 o’clock when Janice woke up. She thought of her work and quickly sat up. However, her sudden action caused pain to shoot through her hand and foot.

Janice couldn’t help but gasp.

At this mont, Christopher ca in and found that she had already sat up. He walked over with a cold face. "Why didn’t you call ?"

Janice was stunned when she saw Christopher. "Didn’t you go to work?"

Christopher helped her sit up and complained, "With you like this, how can I go to work at ease?"

Janice said apologetically, "It’s okay. It’s just a little pain."

"A little?" Christopher scolded her. "I don’t know who it was that cried out in pain last night."

Janice was a little embarrassed.

Did she?

"Oh, by the way, did you send the draft last night?"

She thought of this.

Christopher confird, "It was sent out."

"Then give the computer. Let have a look."

Janice said worriedly.

Christopher couldn’t do anything but turned on the computer and handed it over.

Janice clicked on the web page and looked at it. She was relieved when she saw the article, but she was a little worried about the public opinion on the Internet.

She said, "I’m going to the TV station."

Just as she was about to get out of bed, Christopher stopped her.

"You can’t go anywhere today."

Janice asked, "Why?"

Christopher said, "No reason. In short, I’ve already asked for leave from the TV station. You should stay at ho to recuperate today."

Janice didn’t insist anymore when she heard that Christopher had applied leave for her. Instead, she just stared at the computer worriedly.

Seeing that she was looking at the computer, Christopher frowned and reached for it.

"To recover, is to lie down obediently. I’ll confiscate the computer now."

"But I haven’t finished my interview yet..."

Christopher said, "This is it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Christopher took the computer away.

Janice was helpless and could only lie in bed. However, she would not stop just like this.

Thinking of this, she took out her mobile phone and was about to call Lucy. But in an instant, her mobile phone was taken away by Christopher.

"What are you doing?" Christopher asked.

Janice was taken aback. "Christopher, I have a job. It’s really urgent."

However, Christopher stared at her with a frown. "Janice, you can’t ddle in the affairs of Delta."

Janice did not agree. "I know. It’s not easy, but I have made it my business."

Her tone was very firm. This was the professional ethics that reporters should have.

Christopher shook his head helplessly at her insistence. She didn’t know how much

was involved in this matter. Moreover, there was still...

"If you must investigate, leave it to . I will handle everything, but the premise is that you must ensure that you can’t intervene in this matter."

Christopher said seriously.

However, Janice did not want Christopher to get involved in this matter. She knew that he might have a way, but she was a reporter and this was her own business.

She was about to speak.

Christopher interrupted, "If you really care about the family mbers of the dead workers, just listen to ."

Christopher’s words left Janice silent.

Indeed, she wanted to report the truth in order to seek justice and compensation for those families.
