Knowing Maxwell Peary didn’t take her seriously, he felt greatly relieved.
He had a thousand and one ways to kill her.
Nia Mitchell stepped forward and looked at Mr. Hampton.
"I was only defending myself. How could I have acted if she hadn’t been so oppressive?"
Nia defended herself; she rembered that Mr. Hampton was a reasonable man.
"If you don’t believe , you can ask your chauffeur. He witnessed the entire incident."
Nia pointed a finger. The driver, standing to one side and trying hard to be invisible, abruptly looked up.
Seeing everyone’s gaze turn to him, he was stamring, about to tell the truth, when Mr. Hampton abruptly interrupted him.
"Nia Mitchell! Stop making excuses for yourself. If you want to settle this privately, that’s also an option."
Mr. Hampton took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to her with a sneer.
"You can negotiate with my Lawyer."
Mr. Hampton wore an expression that brooked no discussion. Regardless of what Mrs. Hampton felt, he wouldn’t let Nia off lightly.
Nia clutched the business card, her heart sinking. If the only witness, the driver, wasn’t on her side, she would be utterly done for.
"I have done nothing wrong. I will pay for the dical expenses, and I’m sorry for the harm I have caused her, but I will not apologize."
Hearing this, Hendry Hampton imdiately rushed over.
"Do you have the guts to say that, Nia? Huh? You truly have no goddamn conscience! Think about how I treated you in the past, and now you’re this ungrateful!"
Nia sneered. Ungrateful?
How laughable! The thief crying thief!
"Hendry, aren’t you afraid of biting your tongue saying that? You’re the one who dumped and left humiliated. Yet, you twist things to make it sound as if I’m the one who wronged you."
Was there any person more shaless than him?
"It was clearly you who flirted around; otherwise, how could you have hooked up with Maxwell Peary?"
Hendry was resentful about this. If Nia were poor, destitute, and humble now, perhaps he would feel so remorse.
But after he dumped her, she had appeared before him, arm in arm with another man.
It had choked him, as if he were the one who had been abandoned.
Proud as he was, how could he tolerate this?

Every ti she thought about this, Hendry was like a thorn in her throat: impossible to swallow, impossible to remove.
"No, you would have been released the following day."
All they wanted was for her not to appear at the engagent ceremony. He hadn’t stopped loving her; it was just that... it was because... he had no choice but to marry Beatrice Swan, for his own sake and for the Company. He would take care of Nia; he would marry her in the future.
Nia laughed loudly. Released the following day?
HAHAHA!
"Hendry, I realize how lucky I am not to have gone down that miserable Path you laid out for ."
As she finished speaking and was about to leave, the mobile phone she was tightly clutching in her hand suddenly rang.
She jumped and, upon seeing it was Maxwell Peary, quickly answered.
"What’s wrong, Mrs. Peary? Did your shopping not go well? To think you’d rember to call at a ti like this."
Maxwell’s lips curled as he strode out of the Conference Room, rushing into the elevator towards his Office Room.
Nia bit her lip. Sohow, upon hearing Maxwell’s voice, she felt all her grievances about to overwhelm her, almost impossible to hold back any longer.
