"Why are you in such a hurry again? Since when am I raising a dog in my Waiting Room specifically to chase you away?"
Maxwell Peary, noticing his wife frozen on the spot, imdiately walked over.
Nia Mitchell hadn’t expected him to have a guest in his Office Room, so she sheepishly scratched her head.
"Um... hello."
She couldn’t ignore Yancy Hastings’s gaze and awkwardly greeted him.
He had helped her at the Hospital last ti, and it seed she hadn’t yet had a chance to thank him.
"Thanks for your help last ti."
Nia Mitchell was completely ignoring Maxwell Peary, who had already walked up to her, and was still fixated on Yancy Hastings sitting over there.
As for this, the two n had completely different thoughts.
Yancy Hastings’s brain felt like it had been bombed, constantly replaying what Maxwell Peary had just said.
Whaaaat, was that really his buddy Maxwell Peary, the one he’d known since childhood? His appearance might be the sa, but had his core been swapped out?
Maxwell Peary, on the other hand, was full of displeasure. He’d been there for quite a while, and Rabina Mitchell hadn’t even glanced at him.
He was angry. Rabina Mitchell’s gaze should be on him.

Nia Mitchell looked at Yancy Hastings in confusion. Why wasn’t he responding to her?
And what’s with that look? It seed like he wasn’t looking at her, but... CEO Peary.
Nia Mitchell frowned, finally shifted her gaze, and turned to look at Maxwell Peary, who was constantly radiating a cold aura.
"Hehe, what’s up with you?"
His face was dark and his features were tense, making it seem as if she had done sothing wrong.
Nia Mitchell couldn’t help but reach out with her little paw and poke his cheek, laughing rrily.
"Stop it."
Maxwell Peary brushed away her little paw that was poking around, looking displeased.
Nia Mitchell obediently stood there, stifling her urge to laugh.
"Co here."
Maxwell Peary reached out and took Nia Mitchell by the hand, leading her to the sofa.
"I never got around to properly introducing you last ti. This is Yancy Hastings, a buddy I’ve grown up with."
Maxwell Peary introduced Yancy Hastings to Nia Mitchell, then turned to look at Yancy Hastings.
"And this is my wife, Nia Mitchell, legally."
Yancy Hastings nodded at Maxwell Peary’s emphasis, but Nia Mitchell clearly sensed his displeasure.
This Yancy Hastings seed to dislike her. She didn’t know why; perhaps it was just a gut feeling.
Indeed, Yancy Hastings was displeased. Maxwell Peary’s emphasis was nothing more than a clear statent that this was a done deal, and Yancy couldn’t change it.
It was just a notification that he had to accept.
"I’ll wait until I have kids of my own before I notify you," Yancy Hastings said resentfully, looking dejectedly at the couple standing nearby.
"I don’t mind."
Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow. Even if Yancy didn’t notify him until after his child was already in school, it wouldn’t bother Maxwell.
Yancy Hastings never in a million years thought that his words would actually co true in the future. When he eventually had a child of his own, Maxwell Peary was only inford then.
Of course, these were all developnts for later.
"You two must still have business to attend to. I need to get to work."
Nia Mitchell hastily asked to leave, otherwise she would be late again.
Maxwell Peary nodded, patting her little head.
"Go out that way."
He had so understanding of the people outside in the Secretary Departnt. About two-thirds of them should have arrived by now. If she were to leave from here, they would probably resent him imnsely.
"Okay."
Nia Mitchell obediently let Maxwell Peary lead her, and the two of them headed towards the hidden elevator.
