Phoebe Walker truly wanted everyone to see that Nia Mitchell was pulling strings.
Even if she were to leave, she wouldn’t let Mitchell work here comfortably.
"It’s not that I don’t trust you; it’s that your answer lacks any sincerity."
Walker laughed at her, curious to see what Mitchell would do next.
Nia Mitchell slowly walked back to her seat and calmly sat down.
"Phoebe Walker, what connections did you use to get in here?"
Mitchell stared into Walker’s eyes. Only those who use connections to get ahead would suspect others of doing the sa.
If Walker dominates the Secretary Departnt, she must have powerful backing. So, she probably didn’t get here through legitimate ans in the first place.
"I imagine when you arrive at the Finance Departnt, people will surely wonder how a secretary like you suddenly got promoted to a Director role. Did you use backdoor connections? Then they’ll keep guessing who your connection is."
Compared to a humble secretary like herself, the chances were even higher that Walker would be the one under suspicion.
However, upon hearing Mitchell’s words, Walker just laughed.
"Nia, you are really naive. I am a Harvard graduate. I have received the highest-level education. I am qualified for this job."
Only those without qualifications are prone to suspicion.
"Are you? But you don’t have any experience."
Mitchell had always been in School, but she knew that companies valued experience when hiring talent.
Besides, Walker was appointed directly as a Director.
She might get pulled down pretty soon.
"Phoebe Walker, aren’t you here to hand over your job? It’s almost ti to clock out, and you haven’t even packed up yet."
Shirley Grant suddenly interrupted, looking sowhat displeased at Walker.
Walker ground her teeth in anger. She hadn’t expected Grant to dominate the Secretary Departnt after she left.
"Shirley Grant, didn’t you get to where you are now because of Alan Morgan?" Walker challenged. This accusation ca even though Morgan himself had recently made Grant a public embarrassnt.
"Phoebe Walker, in your mind, is everyone’s success the result of a complex web of relationships? Are people only able to rise through their connections?"
Grant scoffed. Only Walker could harbor such ludicrous thoughts.
"I don’t know about others, but I know you, Shirley Grant. Are you willing to swear to the heavens that you didn’t get into MC Group because of Alan Morgan?"
Walker glared ferociously, gritted her teeth, and suddenly raised her voice so high it almost hurt others’ eardrums.
Her voice, akin to the squawk of a duck whose neck was being trampled, made everyone’s stomach churn and their bodies recoil in discomfort.
Grant was silent for a mont, then she suddenly laughed.
"This is hardly a secret in MC Group anymore. Do you think you can threaten with this? I can tell everyone here, quite frankly, that yes, I initially seduced Alan Morgan, slept with him, and that’s how I got into MC Group."
Grant suddenly revealed a massive secret. The entire Secretary Departnt first fell into an eerie calm, followed by a sudden uproar.
Everyone started whispering and discussing in small groups. They hadn’t expected Grant to reveal this huge secret at this ti.
Wouldn’t any normal person do their best to hide such things? Why would Grant reveal it today? Was it because Walker had pushed her too far?
At that very mont, a figure stood outside the Grand Gate of the Secretary Departnt.
