Nia Mitchell popped a small strawberry into Maxwell Peary’s mouth, watching him intently for his reaction.
After finishing it, Maxwell Peary reached out and patted her on the head.
"Indeed, it’s delicious."
Upon hearing these words, Nia Mitchell’s eyes crinkled with delight as she quickly reached for another to hand to him.
Maxwell Peary played along, opening his mouth and enjoying being fed by Nia Mitchell.
Butler Frederick Goldsmith, having just delivered Maxwell Peary’s briefcase to the study, returned to witness this scene.
My goodness, what on earth happened here? Frederick Goldsmith thought. I was only gone for a short while. Did I miss sothing major? Why was soone who clearly never eats strawberries now opening his mouth, waiting to be fed? I must be seeing things; Maxwell Peary still hates strawberries. I saw it wrong. I washed and placed the strawberries in the Living Room specifically for Nia Mitchell. Although I wasn’t sure if Nia Mitchell liked them, many girls do. I just casually left them in the Living Room. If Nia Mitchell didn’t eat them, I would get a different fruit next ti. But why is Young Master Peary eating them?
"Are they especially sweet?" Nia Mitchell gazed expectantly at Maxwell Peary. As she spoke, she picked up another strawberry and popped it into her own mouth.
"Yes," Maxwell Peary affird, nodding.
Turning his head, he saw the butler standing there. Recalling Nia Mitchell’s earlier words, Maxwell Peary said, "We’re having fried dumplings for dinner tonight. Go inform the kitchen."
The butler nodded and left imdiately, leaving the Living Room to the two of them.
Nia Mitchell ate several strawberries in succession, only stopping when just a few remained in the fruit bowl.
"Oh no, what am I going to do? I’m full now! I won’t have room for the fried dumplings later," Nia Mitchell pouted, feeling dismayed. This is terrible! I ate too many just because I was being greedy.
"It’s okay, fruit digests quickly," Maxwell Peary reassured her.
Maxwell Peary stood up. He’d been ho for quite a while now but still hadn’t taken off his jacket. He didn’t like wearing a suit at ho.
As Maxwell Peary was taking off his jacket, Nia Mitchell imdiately reached out to help.
"Uncle, I discovered a secret! Your closet is full of the exact sa clothes," Nia Mitchell pouted, not understanding why Maxwell Peary was so strange. Who would buy identical clothes and wear a different one each day? That’s just too monotonous!
"Really?" Maxwell Peary turned to look at Nia Mitchell, feigning ignorance.
"Yes! Uncle, you should wear different clothes. You should also try other colors. How about white next ti?" Nia Mitchell suggested. Generally, black and white are more readily accepted colors, she mused. Uncle Peary always used to wear black suits. Although they made him look mature and composed, they also made him seem a bit too staid. It didn’t suit his age at all. Maybe switching to white would create a different impression.
"You decide," he said, looking at her dotingly. As for clothes, I’m simply too accustod to my usual style to want to change. After a while, everyone just assud I only liked the color black. Over ti, it beca a permanent uniform: a black suit jacket and a white shirt.
"Really? Then can we go clothes shopping together this Sunday?" Nia Mitchell hopped up excitedly. She imagined going shopping with the CEO. Wow, what a scene that would be! Tsk, tsk...
She had no idea that Maxwell Peary’s clothes were all custom-made and delivered personally once they were ready.
