With an expression that clearly said, ’I’ve found out your secret!’ Silvia Waterborne pointed back and forth between them.
"Wow, I used to think you were gay. Turns out you’re into this type!"
Before she finished speaking, Silvia Waterborne had already approached Nia Mitchell, sizing her up from head to toe.
"Little Maxwell, she’s still a student, right? You’ve certainly got quite the reach, haven’t you?"
Silvia Waterborne kept teasing, wishing she could practically pry Nia Mitchell open to examine her inner workings.
Nia stood there, completely bewildered, looking helplessly at the CEO. What in the world is going on?
Maxwell Peary’s face darkened; he desperately wished he could just throw Silvia Waterborne out.
"Mom, can you please behave? Do you look like an elder at all?"
Maxwell massaged his forehead, walked over to Silvia Waterborne, and pulled Nia behind him.
"What do you an by that? Are you trying to order your own mother around now?"
Silvia Waterborne planted her hands on her hips defiantly, looking for all the world like a common street shrew.
Maxwell was always at a loss when dealing with his mother. With her extensive acting experience, she could transform into hundreds of different personalities in a minute.
"Sit."
Maxwell gestured to a nearby sofa, then, without looking back at his mother, led Nia to sit down, leaving Silvia Waterborne standing there.
Nia looked at Silvia Waterborne with a puzzled expression, then turned to Maxwell.
"You... did you just call her... Mom?"
She felt like her brain couldn’t keep up. What is happening?
The person I t when I was buying that bag the other day wasn’t *this* woman!
And Silvia Waterborne just called Uncle Peary... ’Little Maxwell’?
What on earth is going on?
"Yes, let introduce you. This is my mom, your mother-in-law, Silvia Waterborne."
Maxwell smoothly introduced them, leaving Nia sitting there, utterly petrified.
Swallowing hard, Nia found that she had once again lost her voice.
"So you’re Nia Mitchell? That na sounds much nicer than mine."
Silvia Waterborne, making herself right at ho, sat down on the other side of Nia, tilting her head as she curiously sized her up.
"Er... Mom..." Nia managed to say with difficulty, though a torrent of questions swirled in her mind, she managed to hold them back.
"Ah, so obedient! That sounds much more pleasant than when those actors call ’Mom’."
Silvia Waterborne closed her eyes in blissful enjoynt, taking a deep breath as if her entire being had been revitalized.
Then, opening her eyes again, she stood up and frowned at Maxwell.
"Little Maxwell, do you have anything to eat at ho? I rushed straight here from the film set and haven’t even eaten yet."
With that, Silvia Waterborne turned abruptly and dashed towards the kitchen.
"Butler! Butler! Butler! Where are you? I want sweet and sour spare ribs, sweet and sour pork, and sweet and sour fish!"
Watching Silvia Waterborne’s figure disappear like a whirlwind, Nia was slow to react.
"What’s wrong?" Maxwell asked, observing her expression but not noticing any negative emotions.
"Is she really your mom?"
Nia felt as if she were in a fog, struggling to believe the scene unfolding before her eyes.
The legendary goddess Silvia Waterborne... she’s so different in private! And isn’t she famously unmarried? How did she beco the CEO’s mother? The CEO is twenty-nine, for heaven’s sake!
