Nia Mitchell was left alone again, so she called the CEO to tell him that she was preparing to go ho.

Maxwell Peary sat there, his brow slightly furrowed as he looked over the docunts in front of him. His frown deepened the more he read.
"General Hastings, I’m afraid I don’t quite understand what you an."
Yancy Hastings also raised his head to look at his father sitting behind the desk. This isn’t a simple matter, he thought.
"Young Master Peary, I believe you can make the right judgnt and the right choice."
Zion Hastings’ voice was strong and assertive, each word carrying a distinct military tone and an air of righteousness.
Maxwell Peary sneered. No wonder Yancy Hastings called over. If I’d known about this beforehand, I would have refused to see him, even if Zion Hastings had co knocking at my door.
Just as he was about to refuse, his phone suddenly rang.
The Hastings father and son exchanged a surprised glance. Maxwell Peary always turns off his phone when discussing business. Why didn’t he do so today?
Moreover, much to their astonishnt, he even picked up the phone.
Upon seeing the caller ID, Maxwell Peary’s normally stern face softened considerably.
"Hello?"
He lowered his voice. Hearing the noisy sounds from the other end, he knew she was still out.
"I’m about to head ho."
Nia Mitchell reported her whereabouts honestly. Looking at the two large bags of snacks beside her, she thought, I really need to be on my best behavior.
"Mm, where are you now?"
Maxwell Peary raised his hand to check his watch. It’s already two o’clock.
"I’m in a buffet restaurant near the supermarket."
Nia Mitchell was being surprisingly cooperative. I’m not quite used to this, Maxwell Peary thought, a little caught off guard.
"Wait there for a bit. I’m about done here. I’ll co pick you up."
Nia Mitchell instinctively wanted to refuse. But if I do, Maxwell Peary might get upset, she worried. He might even kick out of the house, along with my snacks! That would be terrible.
"Okay, I’ll wait for you."
The corners of Maxwell Peary’s mouth instantly curled into a smile. He gave her a few gentle instructions before hanging up.
Yancy Hastings’ mouth twitched. Tempered steel has turned into yielding silk, he thought. I never knew he had such a tender side.
It wasn’t just Yancy Hastings whose jaw was about to drop in surprise; Zion Hastings, too, was stunned for a long mont.
Zion Hastings recalled, I was present when Maxwell Peary was brought back to the Peary Clan years ago. From that mont on, I had never seen him smile.
I actually thought Maxwell Peary didn’t know how to smile! Zion Hastings mused. Unexpectedly, in my lifeti, these old bones of mine have witnessed a second expression from him!
"Young Master Peary? Is this...?"
Zion Hastings couldn’t suppress his curiosity and gestured towards Maxwell Peary’s phone.
Maxwell Peary glanced at him, his expression calm and unconcerned.
"That was my wife," Maxwell Peary stated. "I need to go. She’s waiting for to pick her up."
Having said that, he stood up and prepared to leave.
"You’re married?"
Zion Hastings stood up abruptly, his face a mask of shock and disbelief.
The impact of this news is trendous! Zion Hastings thought, reeling. How could I not have heard a whisper about it?
Maxwell Peary, fresh from the call with his dear wife, was in a good mood, so he nodded.
"Yes, but we don’t plan to announce it publicly yet."
I also want so peace and quiet, Maxwell Peary considered. If this gets announced, it will undoubtedly stir up another storm.
Besides, Rabina Mitchell’s current disposition isn’t suitable for being in the public eye, he added internally.
"Is it Phoebe Walker, Liam Walker’s daughter from the Walker Family?"
The news had been overwhelming that morning; it would have been difficult for him not to know.
