Robert Perez imdiately stopped Nia Mitchell, who was preparing to leave, and suddenly burst into tears, leaving Nia completely baffled.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Nia imdiately looked around. Sure enough, many people were looking at them strangely.
Once again, she beca the center of attention, and her face darkened with annoyance.
"Just say what you want to say."
Seeing him hesitate, Nia grew impatient.
The re ntion of Victoria Perez’s na made her uncomfortable.
"I apologize for what my daughter did to you. Can you please let her go? Let our Perez Family go?"
The Perez Family had already encountered a major crisis. They had gone to Madgar Pavilion that day intending to ask for forgiveness, but who would have known they would offend Young Master Peary even more severely.
In just a few short days, his company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Just monts ago, he had gone to borrow money from old friends but hadn’t even gotten a chance to see them.
The crucial point was, after his daughter left that day, she disappeared without a trace; it had been several days.
He had leveraged many connections but still couldn’t find her. Yesterday, they found the car she had been driving at the bottom of a cliff in the suburbs. The car was wrecked from the fall, and while many of Victoria Perez’s belongings were found at the scene, Victoria Perez herself was nowhere to be found.
No sign of her, dead or alive. Robert Perez aged a decade in that instant.
"I don’t know what you an."
With a cold expression, Nia stood there anxiously, wondering where Maxwell Peary was.
"Miss Mitchell, I beg you, she’s my only daughter."
Robert Perez suddenly knelt and cried before her, frightening Nia so much that she stumbled backward.
"What are you doing? Must you be so unreasonable?"
Are this father and daughter from the Perez Family both out of their minds? What did I ever do to deserve this?
Nia was utterly confused by Robert Perez’s actions.
"Miss Mitchell, my daughter was just spoiled. Please let her go. We apologize to you, we apologize..."
Robert Perez began to ramble incoherently, and more and more passersby gathered to watch.
Nia felt pins and needles, growing increasingly agitated as she stood there.
"Can you please stand up? I’m begging you, please let go, alright?"
I’m just out shopping; do I really have to run into such a lodramatic scene?
"Alright, I’ll stand up. Just tell where my daughter is! I’ll do anything you ask, I beg you, please release my daughter."
Robert Perez was extrely agitated, his voice so loud that everyone in the surrounding crowd heard him clearly.
The onlookers began to buzz with discussion, gesticulating and comnting on the scene before them.
"That woman looks pretty ordinary. It’s hard to believe she’s so cruel. Who knows what she did to make that man—a father himself—kneel to her."
"How do you know she’s ordinary? Maybe she’s rich and powerful. Look at that man’s clothes; they’re designer brands."
"I recognize that man; I’ve t him once. Isn’t that Robert Perez, the Chairman of the Perez Family?"
"Goodness, Robert Perez? He’s quite a figure. Why is he kneeling to such a young girl?"
"You wouldn’t know this, but I have a friend who works at the Police Departnt. He heard that the Perez Family’s young lady, Victoria Perez, has gone missing. Just yesterday, they found the car she was driving at the bottom of a cliff. The scene was horrifying, but they couldn’t find any trace of Miss Perez there."
"No one was in the car? Then where is she?"
"Are you stupid? Look at the situation! Didn’t Robert Perez just ask that woman to let his daughter go?"
Instantly, the crowd gasped. Had they, by piecing things together, just uncovered a shocking cri?
