Maxwell Peary’s brow furrowed slightly. He didn’t need to think too hard to know her question was related to yesterday’s incident at the Peary Clan’s old mansion.
"I won’t let you be sent away."
So, he would never have to face such a choice.
Under his wings, Rabina Mitchell was always safe.
Nia Mitchell looked down. Although his answer was nice, it wasn’t what she wanted.
At this mont, what she wanted was just a firm "Yes" from him, and nothing more.
"Baby, sleep now."
Nia nodded and closed her eyes.
Seeing her sleeping obediently, Maxwell stood up. He went to the bathroom, took a shower, then returned to hold her and catch up on sleep.
Nia slept particularly soundly this ti. By the ti she woke up, it was already eleven o’clock.
She groggily opened her eyes and rubbed them, only then realizing she was still in the CEO’s arms.
He was dry and exuded the calming fragrance of shower gel.

"Take your temperature again. I’ll go check on the kitchen."
As soon as he finished speaking, he deftly got out of bed. He walked over, picked up a thermoter, handed it to her, and then began to change his clothes right there in the bedroom.
Nia obediently tucked the thermoter under her armpit, her gaze following Maxwell from the bed.
"Seen enough yet?"
Nia quickly pulled her small hand out from under the covers and clapped it over her eyes.
"I didn’t see anything."
Her soft, sweet voice reached his ears. Maxwell chuckled, amused, and continued what he was doing.
"I don’t mind you watching."
With that, Maxwell took a few steps forward, arriving at the bedside.
Nia sensed his voice was very close, so she lowered her hands and looked at him.
Only to see him bare-chested, his muscles well-defined, eight-pack abs...
"AH! Uncle, you’re being indecent!"
She clapped her hands over her eyes again. Honestly, who behaves like this?
Maxwell was amused by her cute little act. He picked up a white shirt from the side, put it on, and unhurriedly began to button it.
"Mrs. Peary, Mr. Peary would like to ask, how do you manage to react as if you’re seeing Mr. Peary’s body for the first ti, every single ti, and blush so furiously?"
Seeing the red tips of her ears peeking out, Maxwell couldn’t resist teasing her so more.
Hearing his teasing voice, Nia puffed up her cheeks in annoyance, lowered her hands, and stared directly at his bare torso.
"I’m not shy! Mrs. Peary doesn’t blush when she sees Mr. Peary’s body anymore. I’m used to it; it’s just like looking at my own body."
She widened her bright, expressive eyes, glaring fiercely at Maxwell’s physique. So what if it’s a perfect inverted triangle? So what if he has eight-pack abs? So what if...

Huh? Why does my nose feel hot? And is that... sothing slowly trickling down?
Nia frowned, wiped her nose, then looked at her fair little hand.
