Butler Frederick Goldsmith stood in the dining hall, watching Maxwell Peary’s retreating figure, his eyes slightly hazy.
The young master was increasingly resembling a normal person, becoming more humane, no longer as icy as before.
The fruits on the dining table—strawberries, cherries, pineapples, and grapes—were all ordered by Young Master Peary when he ca down a while ago, and he even added a freshly squeezed Green Apple Juice to the order.
The kitchen staff were sowhat baffled when they received the order, as the young master had never asked for these before.
Unexpectedly, they were all ordered for Nia Mitchell.
When Frederick Goldsmith’s attention returned from Maxwell Peary’s retreating figure, the dining hall filled his ears with Nia Mitchell’s chattering.
"Uncle, these strawberries are delicious. But why is this Apple juice, not strawberry juice?"
Nia pouted, furrowed her brow, and pointed at the juice in front of her with a look of disgust.
She doesn’t like apples! Nor does she like Apple juice.
"You want strawberry juice with your strawberries?"
Maxwell Peary arched a brow. He sat upright and elegantly began his dinner with chopsticks in hand. It was already approaching half past nine.
"I don’t mind."
Nia’s eyes widened. Eating strawberries with strawberry juice, that would be great!
"I will go and exchange it."
Nia imdiately revealed a bright smile and stood up to leave with her Green Apple Juice.
"Sit down!"
Maxwell Peary lifted his head, his face stern. His dark eyes shot out a sharp look, causing Nia to stop in her tracks.
Her bright and sweet smile instantly disappeared, replaced by a gloomy face.
"I don’t like it."
Nia pouted, looking at the Green Apple Juice in her hand.
"Drink a little. It helps replenish so nutrients."
Maxwell Peary made the final decision, leaving no room for Nia to protest.
Okay then.
Nia compromised, sat down, and continued eating her strawberries.
More than a dozen dishes were laid out on the large dining table. Most of them contained chili peppers, and the CEO seed to be enjoying his al.
Nia and Charles Northwood were already full, so after eating so fruit, they couldn’t eat anything more.
So, she just sat there and watched the CEO eat.
That’s Uncle Peary for you, always so elegant even when eating. But isn’t this way of eating too awkward? It feels completely out of touch.
"What are you looking at?"
Maxwell Peary felt sowhat unsettled being watched so intently by his charming wife. His Adam’s apple bobbed. Although the dishes were spicy, he suddenly found them tasteless.
"You like spicy food, Uncle?"
Nia blinked. Even from where she sat, she could sll the spicy aroma of the dishes.
"Mm."
Maxwell Peary responded simply. Glancing at the spread on the table, he suddenly lost all interest.
He shook his head. Young Master Peary, who was more accustod to Western food, put down his chopsticks. He then picked up the Green Apple Juice Nia had taken a few sips from and began to drink it in large gulps.
GULP. GULP.
Nia watched, slightly stunned, as the CEO’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and she could clearly hear him swallowing.
"Uncle..."
Nia’s outstretched hand froze in mid-air. That was the juice she had drunk from...
"What is it?"
Maxwell Peary stopped and placed the cup back in front of her.
"Finish it."
He spoke imperiously, his expression clearly stating, "No room for negotiation."
Nia’s mouth twitched. She lowered her head to look at the Green Apple Juice in the glass; only two or three mouthfuls remained.
Uh, CEO, this... this is what you just drank from...
At this thought, Nia’s face flushed red again.
