「The next day.」
Nia Mitchell rushed to the Secretary Departnt’s office, almost arriving late.
A new, unfamiliar face appeared at Phoebe Walker’s usual spot, but Nia Mitchell didn’t pay it much mind and went straight to her own desk.
"Nia Mitchell, are you sick again?"
Diana Hill turned to look at Nia Mitchell. Seeing her rosy complexion, Diana assud Nia had recovered.
"Yes, I had a high fever," Nia Mitchell pouted, her mind filled with the thought of the fever-reducing injection.
Alan Morgan pushed open the Grand Gate of the Secretary Departnt. After entering, he showed no superfluous expression and got straight to the point: "Everyone, please stop what you’re doing for a mont. I have an announcent. MC has hired a new Head Secretary, Sophia Moore. She will be taking over the duties of Phoebe Walker and Shirley Grant."
At Alan Morgan’s introduction, Sophia Moore stood up. She was, indeed, the new colleague who had been sitting at Phoebe Walker’s desk.
"Hello everyone, I’m Sophia Moore. I look forward to working with all of you."
Sophia Moore smiled as she surveyed everyone present before giving a concise self-introduction, offering no unnecessary details.
"Alright, everyone can resu their work now."
With that, Alan Morgan turned and left without a single hesitation.
Throughout his announcent, Nia Mitchell’s eyes stayed on Alan Morgan, trying to discern if anything about him was different.
But his attire was the sa as always, and his expression remained unchanged. She couldn’t detect any changes at all.
Alan Morgan... doesn’t he care that Shirley Grant left?
Rembering the box Shirley Grant had brought that day, and her tears, Nia Mitchell found it hard to bear.
But Alan Morgan hadn’t even tried to find her. Shirley Grant’s departure... it seed to have had absolutely no impact on him whatsoever!
Thinking of this, Nia Mitchell pouted, unable to understand what exactly was going on between Alan Morgan and Shirley Grant.
"Alright, let be clear. Starting today, I am the Head Secretary of the Secretary Departnt. I don’t care how your previous supervisors led you; you must all get used to my habits. I hope we can cooperate pleasantly in the future."
After Sophia Moore finished speaking, she curled her lips into a smile, glanced at Nia Mitchell, and then turned to sit down.
Nia Mitchell was startled, not quite understanding the aning behind Sophia Moore’s final glance.
Before she could figure out what Sophia Moore ant, the internal phone on her desk rang.
Hmm... Does Uncle Peary want coffee?
Suddenly, Nia Mitchell found herself wondering what Maxwell Peary drank when she wasn’t at the Company.
"Mr. Peary?"
Answering the phone, Nia Mitchell sounded obedient and professional. No one could have guessed that she was the one who would be in the sa private room as Maxwell Peary.
"Two cups of coffee."
Nia Mitchell raised an eyebrow. Two cups?
Is there soone in the CEO’s Office?
Strange, I didn’t see anyone co in.
So, Nia Mitchell got up to make two cups of coffee. While she was making it, Sophia Moore looked at her three tis.
Well, I suppose it was because I was just standing there waiting for the coffee to brew, feeling a bit bored, so I was looking around. That’s probably why I happened to notice her looking.
But why would Sophia Moore react like that?
After the coffee was ready, Nia Mitchell carried the cups out. As she passed Sophia Moore’s desk, she paused.
"Secretary Moore, is sothing the matter?"
Nia Mitchell looked at Sophia Moore curiously, feeling that sothing wasn’t right.
"It’s nothing. Continue with your work."
Sophia Moore’s face was cold and expressionless, making it impossible for others to guess what she was thinking.
How could Nia Mitchell’s little mind possibly figure it out? So, she decided to simply ignore it.
