Nia Mitchell flashed a sweet smile at Maxwell Peary, blinking her big, sparkling eyes, trying to act cute.
"Alright." As expected, the CEO couldn’t resist and nodded.
Having gotten the answer she wanted, Nia Mitchell happily left the Office Room.
Only after Rabina had completely disappeared did the CEO realize what he had just done.
Damn it, how did I agree so easily? At least I should have... HEH HEH... HEH HEH...
The Secretary Departnt’s Office Room was still empty. Nia Mitchell returned to her desk just as her landline phone started to ring.
Huh... Hadn’t I just left the CEO’s office? Why is he calling again? Is he asking for coffee? He should drink less coffee.
Nia Mitchell humd in thought for a mont, deciding she would refuse if the CEO asked her to make coffee.
"Hello?" Nia Mitchell answered, forcing a smile.
"Excuse , is this the Secretary Departnt of MC Group?"
Hearing a woman’s voice over the phone, Nia Mitchell was startled and montarily stunned.
Huh, it’s not Uncle Peary? But why does this person’s voice sound so familiar?
"Yes, may I ask who is calling?" Nia Mitchell replied.
She furrowed her brow and glanced at the ti. It’s not even working hours yet, is it?
"Hello, I’m Rose Eastwood, a journalist from Star dia. I was wondering if CEO Peary is secretly dating Phoebe Walker from the Walker Family. It’s okay if you can’t answer or don’t know the details. I’d like to schedule an appointnt with CEO Peary for this afternoon; Star dia wants to interview him."
Nia Mitchell’s mouth twitched. So it’s her. Rose Eastwood!
"I’m sorry, but the CEO’s schedule is fully booked. There’s no available slot."
Is she joking? Does she think she can just schedule Maxwell Peary’s ti whenever she wants? More importantly, this isn’t about business; it’s about the CEO’s personal life! If I actually arranged an interview like this, not only would those little imps in the Secretary Departnt mock , but the CEO himself would probably call a fool.
"I’m a journalist from Star dia! Tell your CEO, and he’ll definitely see ."
Rose Eastwood was furious upon hearing Nia Mitchell’s refusal.
If I could just get through to Maxwell Peary, I’d still have a chance. But this damned little secretary rejected right at the first hurdle!
"I’m sorry, the CEO doesn’t have ti."
Nia Mitchell was about to hang up when a piercing shriek ca from the other end of the line.
"How dare you? Do you have any idea who I am? Let tell you, if you offend , I’ll have your CEO fire you!"
Rose Eastwood spoke as if she were very familiar with Maxwell Peary. It was a common trick, likely only effective at intimidating new employees.
Nia Mitchell suddenly understood why Rose Eastwood had called at this particular ti. It was the lunch break. Even the busiest long-term employees would be out eating or resting. Only one type of person would be in the office at this hour: greenhorn newcors, returning early to make a good impression or learn a bit more.
Hmph, Rose Eastwood is still as scheming as ever. Back when I was at Star dia... No, forget it. That’s all in the past.
"I’m sorry, the CEO’s schedule is completely full."
During her school days, Nia Mitchell recalled her professor using Maxwell Peary as a case study. The professor had explained that he, Young Master Peary of Capital Town, rarely appeared in the public eye and never attended public banquets. Moreover, he never accepted invitations for dia interviews or speaking engagents.
