Nia Mitchell’s face was instantly etched with misery. "Why are you gripping like this?"
"Speak up!"
Ti seed to freeze. Noises buzzed in her ears, and everything was a cacophony, yet a sliver of clarity kept her from letting her mind wander.
"You... Let go."
Not far off, Hazel Quartz was furrowing her brows, a puzzled look on her face as she walked in their direction. Nia Mitchell imdiately began to panic.
"I won’t."
Maxwell Peary, his face dark, still gripped her arm.
"Let go!"
Nia Mitchell was anxious and imdiately reached out her other hand to try and push him away, but his strength had always been far greater than hers; she couldn’t budge him at all.
"Let go, please. I’m begging you."
Nia Mitchell pouted, her expression pleading, on the verge of tears as she watched Hazel Quartz draw closer.
"Where else do you think you can run?"
Maxwell Peary hardened his heart, not softening in the slightest as he questioned her with that sa dark expression.
Daring to sign that divorce agreent, she really has so nerve.
"I didn’t run!" Nia Mitchell imdiately jumped to her defense. What does he an, she ran away? She had left openly and honorably! If she were running away, could he have found her so easily? Besides, it was clearly his fault. How had it suddenly beco hers?
"I’ve already signed it. We’re di— Mmph!"
Nia Mitchell’s eyes flew wide open. Right there, in front of Hazel Quartz, she was being forcefully kissed.
Maxwell Peary domineeringly pried her teeth apart, his agile lips moving powerfully within her mouth, teaching her which words could be spoken and which could not.
Divorce? If you have the audacity to utter those two words, then you’d better be prepared to face my wrath.
He was truly enraged; otherwise, he wouldn’t have acted so unhesitatingly, without controlling his strength at all.
Nia Mitchell’s face was scarlet. Gasping for breath like a suffocating fish, she repeatedly struck his chest with her hands.
This is awful, so painful.
He isn’t going to kill her this way, is he?
Just when Nia Mitchell felt she would die in the next minute, Maxwell Peary finally released her.
WHEW!
Nia Mitchell’s legs gave way. Unable to even stand, she found herself leaning heavily against him.
Seeing her clinging to him and gasping for breath, her cheeks flushed red and her chest heaving, this sight instantly pleased him.
Maxwell Peary’s expression softened as he glanced at Hazel Quartz, who stood to the side.
A shiver ran down Hazel Quartz’s spine. She felt as if she were targeted, like a cannon could blast her at any mont.
This sensation was terrifying. Even when she, timid as she was back then, first t EdbertNia Mitchell, she had never experienced such a feeling of being on the brink of life and death.
"Get lost."
Maxwell Peary frowned. Who is this person, dressed so bizarrely, daring to co close?
What if she scares his little Rabina Mitchell?
If Hazel Quartz knew this was the image she projected in the great CEO’s mind, she would most likely have coughed up blood on the spot.
Hazel Quartz froze, then pointed at Nia Mitchell, who was held in his embrace.
"Who are you? This... this is my friend."
Hazel Quartz swallowed hard, trembling with fear, but Nia Mitchell was, after all... after all, a friend, sort of.
She couldn’t just stand by and watch her being bullied.
"Friend?"
Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow, looking down at Nia Mitchell.
Blushing, Nia Mitchell looked up at Hazel Quartz.
"This is my uncle."
Hazel Quartz was dumbfounded.
Two seconds later, Nia Mitchell, her brain still oxygen-deprived, blinked. Sothing seed off.
Wait.
Uncle?
That’s how she used to introduce Maxwell Peary to others.
But, for crying out loud, he had just subjected her to a long, passionate kiss right here!
