"How did Hastings offend you?"
Maxwell Peary smirked slightly, finding it hard to believe that little Rabina could also get angry. Even saying sothing like not going to the Lotus Residence, really... it seed like she was throwing a tantrum.

ntioning Yancy Hastings, Nia Mitchell could talk for half a day about how bad he was.
"Tell , how was he an?"
"He, he seems to always look down on , thinking that I am deliberately getting close to you, which I am not. Also, last ti when I went to Lotus Residence with Fiona Sutton, and then..."
Nia Mitchell kept talking like this all the way until they arrived at the Villa on the hillside. With her lips pouted, she was still chattering incessantly.
"That’s enough."
Maxwell Peary got out of the car to open the door for her, then tousled her hair a little.
"Wait until you’ve eaten and regained your energy to continue."
He hadn’t expected there to be so much he didn’t know. Still, that Hastings... How could he retaliate against a girl over such trivial matters? Okay, he used to be vindictive too.
"I won’t talk about it anymore."
Nia Mitchell pouted. She had just realized that she had been constantly badmouthing the CEO’s good friend. If the CEO were always saying bad things about Fiona Sutton, she would also feel uncomfortable.
Maxwell Peary didn’t need to guess to understand what Nia was thinking, judging from her expression.
When he realized what she was thinking, he helped her out of the car.
"I also always thought that Hastings’s approach was not good," he suddenly spoke.
Nia Mitchell’s face broke into a smile, her heart couldn’t help but feel joyous. It seed like... she was getting better at understanding what the CEO was trying to say and express.

Frederick Goldsmith walked over, extrely worried because he knew they were going to the old house tonight. Unexpectedly, they both ca back hand-in-hand, smiling. Well, okay, he could only see Nia Mitchell smiling.
"Dinner is ready," the butler said, a smile also spreading uncontrollably across his face.
"Is there congee tonight?"
She suddenly craved congee but didn’t know if the kitchen had prepared any.
"Yes."
Actually, Nia Mitchell didn’t know that the kitchen prepared a variety of als every day. Even the most complicated dishes were prepared hours in advance. The CEO never lacked the money for this. Especially after the Young Mistress appeared, the CEO invested a lot more money in food and even hired several masters specializing in Chinese dishes.
Nia Mitchell happily sat down at the entrance hall to change her shoes and extended her hand to take the CEO’s shoes from the shoe cabinet as well.
Maxwell Peary quirked an eyebrow secretly. Was Nia Mitchell possessed? Normally, let alone taking his shoes for him, she would kick off her own shoes while standing, leaving them ssily discarded before flouncing off hurriedly.
"Uncle, would you like so congee?" Nia Mitchell suddenly turned her head to look at Maxwell Peary sitting next to her.
"Prepare two portions of what she’s having," Maxwell Peary instructed the butler without answering her directly. After changing his shoes, he stood up.
"Uncle, has Alan Morgan gone for good? Did he leave to find Shirley Grant?"
Nia Mitchell still had a box with her; it was the one Shirley Grant had left for Alan Morgan. Now that Alan Morgan had suddenly left, she had no news of him. How would she know if he would look for her in three months, or what would happen then?
"Why did you suddenly start caring about him?" Maxwell Peary furrowed his brows, looking at Nia Mitchell, who had tilted her head up to ask him.
Why was this little Rabina’s attention not focused on him at all? EdbertNia Mitchell, Charles Northwood, Yancy Hastings—those were one thing, but why did she suddenly even ask about Alan Morgan?
