Maxwell Peary: !!!
His furrowed brows quickly smoothed out. The words from little Bunny... left him simply feeling comforted, and fireworks began to go off in his heart. It feels like I’m being teased by my wife. I’m so happy.
Unfortunately, on his persistently icy face, not a trace of change could be seen; his expression remained as stoic as ever.
"Eating snacks at night isn’t good for you, and eating while lying prone is even worse."
And the main point is, you were actually lying on our bed eating.
"I’ll change!"
The bunny imdiately raised a tiny paw, solemnly vowing.
Seeing her cute display, Maxwell Peary’s expression softened slightly, though it was barely perceptible without close observation.
"Finish your milk."
He handed her the glass of milk, its warmth transferring from the glass to her hand.
Nia Mitchell took the glass and noticed potato chip crumbs still on her hand.
"I’ll go wash my hands."
Saying that, she put the milk down and scampered off toward the bathroom.
Watching her retreating figure for a mont, Maxwell Peary sighed and shook his head, his gaze falling on the ss on the bed.
He rubbed his slightly throbbing temples, then opened the door and instructed a servant to tidy up the bed before heading to the Secondary Bedroom to wash up.
After Nia Mitchell washed her hands, she cautiously opened the bathroom door, only to see a servant changing the bedsheets.
"Huh?"
Where’s Uncle Peary?
"Where’s Uncle Peary?"
The servants in the Villa seed to have grown accustod to Nia Mitchell calling Maxwell Peary "Uncle Peary." Hearing her voice, one of them turned around.
"The Young Master went to the Secondary Bedroom to wash up."
After the servant finished making the bed, Nia Mitchell imdiately climbed onto the large bed, glanced at the ti, and closed her eyes to sleep.
Hmm.
I need to fall asleep quickly. That’s the only way to avoid the CEO’s criticism later.
Unfortunately...
It’s so frustrating. The more you want to sleep, the more you... can’t.
Maxwell Peary pushed open the Bedroom door to see Nia Mitchell apparently asleep on the bed.
"Asleep already?"
An amused smile touched his lips, and he slowly walked toward her.
Nia Mitchell squeezed her eyes shut tightly, trying to ignore everything, pretending she couldn’t hear a thing.
However, when she heard Maxwell Peary’s footsteps, her heart began to pound furiously, as if it were about to leap out of her chest.
THUMP!
THUMP! THUMP!
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Damn it! This is too torturous. Better to get it over with.
Suddenly, Nia Mitchell sat up in bed.
"I’m not asleep."
She wanted to be, but she was too nervous.
Seeing her pouting in exasperation as she sat on the bed, Maxwell Peary walked over, a hint of a smile in his eyes.
"Can’t sleep?"
He raised an eyebrow, teasing her.
"Of course not! Who falls asleep the mont they lie down? Only a pig does that."
"Hmm."
Maxwell Peary responded simply, sitting on the edge of the bed and glancing at his watch.
"It’s getting late. You should rest."
He did want to ’devour’ her from head to toe again. However, their villa on the hillside was a bit far. If she couldn’t get up on ti in the morning, she would end up blaming him.
"Hmm."
Nia Mitchell’s heart leaped with joy. Is the matter of eating snacks in bed really over just like that? What a relief! The CEO is truly magnanimous. I’ll definitely avoid eating while lying on the bed in the future.
Sure enough.
The thinking between Bunny and the CEO was always worlds apart.
If the CEO knew what Bunny was thinking, every cell in his body would probably ignite instantly, and then...
He’d flip over and press down on her.
Again and again.
