Maxwell Peary curved his lips upward, his eyes filled with cunning. Nia Mitchell had never seen him like this before.
"Who said it’s your turn to make decisions for the Walker Family?"
Maxwell pressed the car’s accelerator, showing no emotion, turning the steering wheel sharply. The car made a broad turn and headed back in the sa direction it ca from.
Charles Northwood, driving behind him, frowned. Had Maxwell sensed that he was being followed?
Without giving it much thought, Charles continued pursuing him.
With such a sharp turn, even if Maxwell hadn’t previously noticed the tail, he certainly did now.
Looking through the rearview mirror, Maxwell noticed the rather average car trailing him.
Surprisingly, Charles Northwood of the esteed Northwood Family, was driving such a diocre car. It’s unclear what these so-called aristocratic families were truly striving for.
"At the mont, I am the only one who can make decisions for the Walker Family. So, what do you think? If you’re interested in this deal, Young Master Peary, I will be waiting for you in the Presidential Suite at the Royal Dynasty Hotel."
With that, Phoebe Walker hung up the phone.
She was forced to go all-in. If she couldn’t find soone of importance to help her, she would have to relinquish the Walker Family to soone else’s control.
Absolutely not!
She was the only daughter of the Walker Family, the legitimate and rightful heir.
The thought of Sophia Moore stirred an indignant rage within her.
A cold sneer crept onto Maxwell’s face. It seed the Walker Family was really at its end. Liam Walker, have you ever considered that your own daughter, Phoebe Walker, would be the one to bring your family down?
Soon after, Maxwell arrived at the Royal Dynasty Hotel and headed straight to the Presidential Suite.
Phoebe Walker wore a suprely alluring dress. Her makeup was artfully applied, and her lips were vividly tinted.
Upon hearing the doorbell ring, she elegantly poured two glasses of red wine and sauntered towards the door, her waist swaying enticingly.
Tailing Maxwell to his location, Charles watched as Phoebe welcod Maxwell into her room and then shut the door behind them.
What the hell!
Even Charles, a gentleman himself, felt the urge to curse out loud.
All he wanted to do was tail Maxwell Peary, nothing more. Why did he have to witness such a scene?
What the hell was Maxwell thinking?
He had just warned him to treat Nia right. And how much ti had passed? Now he was openly with another woman...
If his mory served him right, the woman appeared to be Phoebe Walker from the Walker Family.
He recalled that just a few days ago, Maxwell had made a rare appearance at Phoebe’s birthday party. The dia had even speculated that Phoebe stood a high chance of becoming Mrs. Peary.
Upon these thoughts, Charles clenched his fists instantly.
Standing in the long hallway, he dialed Nia Mitchell’s number.
Nia was lying on her spacious bed, half asleep. The persistent ringing of her cell phone irritated her, causing her brow to furrow.
UGH!
So annoying!
Nia grabbed her blanket and covered her head.
The ringing sound finally beca muffled, but there was no fresh air!
"Who is it?" Nia picked up the phone and bellowed.
"It’s ."
Charles froze, not expecting such a reception.
Nia scratched her head, looked at the caller ID, and realized it was Charles.
"Oh, what’s up?"
Didn’t he hang up on her in a huff just monts ago? Why was he calling her now?
"Do you know what Maxwell is doing right now?"
Nia closed her eyes. Seriously? He called to ask her this?
"He had a social engagent tonight. He left earlier and hasn’t co back yet."
Nia gave a big yawn, her tear-filled eyes blinking drowsily.
"Social engagent? He’s at a hotel with Phoebe Walker!"
