Nia Mitchell was about to argue that the woman in front of her had bumped into her and that she wouldn’t apologize, but Victoria Perez suddenly interjected.
"Listen, Store Manager, an apology is too simple and easy. I want her to compensate for my loss, two hundred thousand USD."
The Store Manager’s face imdiately darkened. Damn, it seems this issue isn’t going to be resolved easily, he thought.
Nia instantly bristled when she heard Victoria Perez’s words.
Never mind that this wasn’t her fault, why had the amount suddenly jumped from one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand USD?
"Miss, didn’t you say before that the compensation was one hundred thousand USD?"
Nia was rely questioning her; she wasn’t foolish enough to give anyone that much money. And more importantly, she was currently penniless.
"One hundred thousand USD? HA! When did I ever say one hundred thousand? I’ve always said two hundred thousand."
Victoria Perez laughed heartily, her expression clearly asking, What can you do about it? It was her mouth; she could say whatever she pleased.
"Do you have any proof that I said one hundred thousand before?"
Victoria Perez feigned innocence. She can’t produce any evidence, can she? she thought.
"Miss Perez, you’re putting us in a very difficult position. We’re just a small business."
The Store Manager kept a smile plastered on his face. There was no point reasoning with unreasonable people; it would only make things more troubleso.
Victoria Perez paid them no mind. She believed that in this world, money ant power. Those with money called the shots, while the poor had no say and shouldn’t be consuming things they couldn’t afford.
Trying to look rich when you’re not? Hmph, riffraff will always be riffraff.
"My ti is extrely valuable, and you’ve all ruined my appetite," Victoria Perez said impatiently.
Nia clenched her fists and headed for the restroom. She wasn’t willing to drag this out any longer. What can Victoria Perez possibly do to anyway? she fud internally.
Seeing Nia about to leave, Victoria Perez swiftly grabbed her arm.
"AH! Let go of !"
Nia cried out. Victoria Perez had grabbed the exact spot where she’d fallen earlier. Even if the skin isn’t broken, it must be bruised by now, she thought, wincing.
"You owe compensation! Two hundred thousand USD, and not a cent less."
Nia was furious. With her free hand, she pinched Victoria Perez hard, managing to break free.
"AH! You bitch! How dare you hit !"
A look of disbelief spread across Victoria Perez’s face, and she imdiately started cursing.
"You uncouth little hussy! Don’t you even know who I am? How dare you hit ! I suppose you don’t want to live anymore! Hmph! Even if you offered the money now, I wouldn’t take it. From now on, don’t even dream of having a peaceful day!"
Victoria Perez rubbed the pinched spot, grimacing in pain. I’ll make sure this woman pays dearly for this! she vowed.
The Store Manager, seeing the situation rapidly deteriorating, nervously examined Victoria Perez’s injury. Fortunately, it was only slightly red and not a major issue.
After checking, he imdiately turned to Nia Mitchell, his eyes filled with disapproval.
"Miss, how could you hit soone like that?"
Nia was speechless. ...!!! Hitting her? I just gave her a light pinch. Does she have to be so dramatic?
"If she hadn’t grabbed , would I have pinched her? She deserved it!"
Seeing Victoria Perez carry on like that, Nia felt a twinge of guilt, since she had, after all, struck first.
Hearing Nia’s retort, Victoria Perez rushed forward, raising her hand to slap Nia.
Nia wasn’t foolish enough to stand there and take it. So, she swung her arm out forcefully.
"AH!"
Victoria Perez never expected Nia Mitchell to fight back. Teetering on her twelve-centiter heels, she lost her balance, twisted her ankle, and crumpled to the floor.
