What does it an to have a thorny tongue?
Just look at her.
"Julia Adams, this is our last gathering. We may not all be able to et up like this again, so can you please say a little less?"
Ralph Perez knew Julia Adams and her sharp tongue all too well; she definitely wouldn’t say anything pleasant.
"What? Am I not allowed to speak now?" Julia Adams imdiately bristled, questioning him aloud.
"That’s not what I ant," Ralph Perez quickly clarified.
"Hmph, I was just trying to comfort her. Look at the sorry state Hendry Hampton is in now! And look at Nia Mitchell—she was swaggering about when he was at his peak. Now that he’s fallen, it’s most likely got sothing to do with her."
All their classmates furrowed their brows after hearing Julia Adams’s words.
They had been classmates for four years; didn’t they all know each other’s capabilities? Could Nia Mitchell really have the power to bring down a major corporation like that? Impossible. No one would believe it if you told them. Julia Adams really did have a wild imagination.
However, it had to be said, Julia Adams’s most unbelievable statent was, in fact, the truth.
Hendry Hampton’s current downfall was indeed inextricably linked to Nia Mitchell.
Just think about it—even the largest corporation couldn’t withstand being tornted by Maxwell Peary, Charles Northwood, and EdbertNia Mitchell all at once.
"Julia Adams, I think you’re the one who’s jealous."
Nia Mitchell shook her head, her brows furrowed. So people just can’t stand to see others happy. How can anyone think like that?
", jealous of you? Jealous that you got abandoned at your Engagent Banquet after it started? Jealous that you didn’t even know your fiancé had run off with soone else?"
Julia Adams found it incredulous. Has Nia Mitchell been driven mad by all this? Has her brain been addled?
Nia Mitchell took a deep breath. Hendry Hampton was the person she most wanted to forget.
"Today, I’d like to take the opportunity of this class reunion to share sothing with everyone... I’m already married."
As Nia Mitchell said this, she turned to glance at Charles Northwood, who was standing to one side.
She wouldn’t hide anymore. Telling one lie would only require countless more to cover it up, and the deception would ultimately snowball.
"Married?"
"What?"
"Huh?"
"No way!"
"You’re joking, right?"
"She must be kidding."
A wave of chatter imdiately swept through the classmates; no one believed Nia Mitchell’s words.
How long had it been since she was dumped by Hendry Hampton? Even for the quickest person, moving on from a past relationship, eting soone new, falling in love, proposing, getting engaged, getting married... all of that takes ti, doesn’t it? She simply hadn’t had enough ti. How could she possibly be married? Nia Mitchell wouldn’t need to lie to everyone about sothing this major, would she? Even if she wanted to save face, she wouldn’t need to resort to such an obviously false, dramatic claim.
"Nia Mitchell, you’re killing !"
Julia Adams completely abandoned her ladylike deanor and burst out laughing.
She actually dared to claim she was married? HA HA HA...
"I really am married. We’re postponing the wedding banquet because I haven’t graduated yet. When we do hold the banquet later, I’ll definitely let you all know."
Nia Mitchell smiled as she looked at everyone. Maxwell Peary had just brought up the matter of the wedding banquet last night.
They had ultimately agreed to wait until after her graduation, when their relationship would be public.
Then, he would give her a grand, unforgettable wedding.
She... She suddenly found herself starting to look forward to it, even dreaming of herself in a pure white wedding gown, with him by her side.
"Don’t talk as if it’s real. Married? You don’t even have a wedding ring."
