The brutal words echoed throughout the private room, and everyone held their breath.
After a long silence, Julia Adams could no longer hold back her emotions and broke down, wailing loudly.
"It’s because of Nia Mitchell! It’s all Nia Mitchell!"
It was Nia Mitchell’s fault; it was Nia Mitchell who made him dislike her.
"Nia Mitchell, you’ve gone too far!"
As Julia Adams said this, she lunged at Nia Mitchell, her hand raised to strike.
Startled, Nia Mitchell reacted instantly, swinging her hand.
SLAP!
A crisp sound echoed, and everyone stared wide-eyed at the scene.
Nia Mitchell’s right hand hung frozen in mid-air. A disbelieving Julia Adams stood motionless for a long mont before slowly raising her hand to her left cheek.
"You hit ?!"
Julia Adams shrieked. Nia Mitchell actually dared to hit her!
Nia Mitchell slowly withdrew her right hand, her palm tingling. She stood there awkwardly, unsure what to do, feeling caught in an uncomfortable situation.
"It was you... you who tried to hit first."
Nia Mitchell bit her lip as she spoke. So, it was just self-defense on her part.
"You actually hit , Nia Mitchell!"
Julia Adams was about to lunge again. No one had reacted to the first slap, but Julia’s next move was unmistakable.
Several boys quickly moved to block Julia Adams.
"Calm down, don’t make a scene."
Ralph Perez, the class monitor, was the first to intercept her, startled himself by her frantic appearance.
Julia Adams, unwilling to give in, struggled furiously.
"All of you, let go of ! Why can Nia Mitchell hit , but when it’s my turn, you stop ? You’re all on her side!"
The others felt sowhat in the wrong; after all, Nia Mitchell had struck so quickly that no one had ti to react.
"Julia Adams, calm down. Nia Mitchell didn’t an to hit you," Ralph Perez spoke up, but his words only made Julia Adams even more furious.
"If that wasn’t intentional, then what is?"
Julia Adams’s eyes were bloodshot; she looked like she wanted to rush over and tear Nia Mitchell apart.
Such an expression and such a scene genuinely frightened Nia Mitchell, and she instinctively took a few steps back.
"Are you okay?" Charles Northwood looked at her, seeing she was scared.
"I’m fine." Nia Mitchell stood there, biting her lip. She really hadn’t ant to hit anyone.
Even if Julia Adams was awful, she shouldn’t have resorted to violence. This was indeed her fault.
"Nia Mitchell, don’t you dare go! Stay right there! I’m telling you, if I don’t get you back for this today, then I’m not Julia Adams!"
Julia Adams roared, trying to break free from the others’ hold, but she wasn’t strong enough.
"All of you, let go! Even if you don’t, I have ways to get my revenge!"
Julia Adams had completely lost it, no longer caring what these boys thought of her.
Anyway, everyone was about to graduate soon. They would all go their separate ways; who would even see each other again?
"Nia Mitchell, you better watch yourself! Be careful you don’t get beaten up one day without even knowing who did it! I will absolutely not let you off the hook!"
The aning behind her words was too obvious: she intended to retaliate.
Will she really find soone to beat up Nia Mitchell?
It really seed like that was what she ant.
"Julia Adams, this is clearly your fault! You’ve really gone too far!"
Before Nia Mitchell could even respond to this threat, Charles Northwood, standing beside her, beca enraged.
How dare she say such things? Threatening revenge?
Does she really think Nia Mitchell is afraid?
She has no idea who will truly be at a disadvantage then.
