She attributed every inexplicable instance of pleasing the CEO to luck. And when it ca to the CEO, her luck had always been rather good.
"No!" everyone declared in unison; none of them had found a job.
No surprise there. Didn’t they see the man standing before them? Just look at him; it’s written all over his face that he isn’t short of money.
He isn’t short of money, but he might be short of people.
Isn’t he so kind of CEO?
He’s asking if they’ve found jobs... could it be he wants to find jobs for them?
At this thought, everyone grew excited. It’s important to understand that University A wasn’t a prestigious institution, and they were all from the Chinese Departnt. Four years studying Chinese essentially gave them a high school-level qualification in the job market. They only discovered how harsh society was when they started job hunting. No one cared what they’d studied or offered them opportunities; employers just wanted to know what they could *do*. So, while it wasn’t too bad for the won, the employnt rate for the n was truly... pitiful.
A faint smile touched Maxwell Peary’s lips. "So, none of you have found work, have you?"
"I suggest you all return to your hotowns to find employnt."
These were Maxwell Peary’s final words. After saying them, he took Nia Mitchell’s hand and left.
No one understood what Maxwell Peary ant by those words at the ti. But in the not-too-distant future, they finally comprehended. Maxwell Peary hadn’t intended to find them jobs; he intended to destroy their prospects. In the vast, cold, yet prosperous Capital Town, there would be no place for them.
Of course, that’s a story for another ti. So might wonder what happened to those who already had jobs. They... lost them very quickly.
Maxwell Peary escorted Nia Mitchell out of Royal Dynasty. Once they were in the car, he turned to look at Nia, who was in the passenger seat, starting to fasten her seatbelt.
"Were you being bullied?" he asked. He could sense it; those people had definitely bullied Nia.
"If I said that an entire class bullied just , would you believe it?"
Anyone who’d believe that is a fool. Why would an entire class bully just one person?
If an entire class really *did* bully you, it would have to be your fault. It’s not like everyone else could be blind, right?
And yet, unbelievably, the entire class *had* been blind.
"I believe you," Maxwell Peary said, looking at Nia Mitchell with utmost seriousness.
If, one day, Nia told him the entire world was bullying her, he wouldn’t doubt her words. Instead, he would annihilate the entire world. That was Maxwell Peary; such was the dominance of Young Master Peary.
"Not at all," Nia Mitchell said. Seeing his serious expression, she turned her head away, finding it a bit hard to look at him. "Who would dare bully ? I’m the wife of the renowned Maxwell Peary."
Nia Mitchell joked with a smile, then reached out to poke the CEO’s typically stern, icy face. "Right?"
She poked it once, then again.
Never mind how icy and serious the CEO looks all the ti, or how he dresses so maturely. His skin is actually incredibly smooth.
Maxwell Peary frowned, reaching out to pull away her mischievous little paw. "Stop ssing around."
This Rabina is far too playful. Is she treating my face like a toy?
"I wasn’t ssing around at all," Nia Mitchell protested, her small paw already held firmly in the CEO’s grasp, yet she still wouldn’t admit it.
Seeing her flushed little face and stubborn expression, Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow and leaned in close.
A kiss descended upon her without warning. Nia Mitchell, her face flushed, passively accepted it.
