A mole!
Soone around Alan Morgan must be a mole!
Thinking of this, his expression grew even darker.
"No! I don’t want that woman to know about this."
If Alan Morgan hadn’t been trying to find Shirley Grant, none of this would have happened.
As a mother, seeing her son lying there like this, how could she not be resentful?
"She doesn’t deserve to know. If it weren’t for her, how could Alan Morgan be lying here in this state? That woman has already hard him this much; what more will it take for her to be satisfied?" Mrs. Morgan said, tears streaming down her face.
The worries and tornt of the past few days collapsed in an instant.
Her heart was filled with fear and anxiety. What sustained her now was enormous dread and panic. If anything truly happened to Alan Morgan, she wouldn’t be able to live on either.
"But Alan Morgan definitely wants to see her."
Owen Lewis frowned as he looked at Mrs. Morgan. He understood her emotions and her aning.
But, Alan Morgan...
"No. Alan Morgan wouldn’t want her to know."
Mrs. Morgan clenched her fists, her face a mask of anger.
Owen Lewis paused, then turned to look at the unconscious Alan Morgan.
"I’m sorry, Mrs. Morgan. I don’t think I can truly understand how you feel."
With that, Owen Lewis turned and left.
Mrs. Morgan slowly sank onto a seat, her gaze fixed painfully on Alan Morgan lying there.
"Do you really love that woman?" If you loved her, what on earth happened back then that made you cancel the wedding the day before? If it was just hatred, why were you so insistent on finding her?
「The next day」
The streets and alleys were full of the overwhelming news that Alan Morgan was grievously injured and in critical condition.
Shirley Grant had been utterly dispirited these past few days, sitting in the hospital ward watching Gerry Peary.
Gerry’s complexion had improved significantly, and he slowly raised his head.
"Mom, does Dad really not like ?" Gerry looked up at her, his innocent little face full of anticipation.
He really wanted to see his father, to know what he looked like.
"Of course not, how could he not like you? Gerry, you’re such a good boy. Don’t say things like that."
Shirley Grant was afraid Gerry would get the wrong idea. She didn’t want him to worry about these things, terrified that sothing might happen to him.
"Gerry, don’t let your imagination run wild. Dad is just held up with sothing; he won’t abandon you."
She reached out and gently touched his cheek, her expression full of love.
"Really?" Being just a child, a smile imdiately lit up his face when he heard her words.
"That’s great, Mom! So, Dad will be with in the future, right? The three of us can be together forever!"
Gerry sat up, his face alight with excitent and joy.
The smile on his small face brought tears to Shirley’s eyes. Her hand stroking his head paused, and tears welled in her eyes.
"Don’t worry, Dad will be here soon. But Gerry, you have to be a good boy and get well, okay?" Shirley reassured him, hoping he wouldn’t let his thoughts run wild.
"Okay." Gerry nodded, sitting up with renewed energy.
"Mom, I’m going to tell Dad that you’ve had a really hard ti. He has to treat you well," he said, smiling earnestly at Shirley Grant.
"Okay, Mom will rember that. And you have to rember what you said too, alright?"
"MM-HMM."
"Alright, Gerry, you should rest now. I’m going to call your uncle."
With that, Shirley Grant smiled, picked up her phone, and left the room.
