Nia Mitchell stood at the doorway, her lips twitching. How on earth did Yancy Hastings get into the girls’ dormitory? It was unbelievable.
After hesitating for a long ti, she knocked on the door and went in.
Fiona Sutton froze when she saw Nia, her eyebrows knitting in obvious discomfort at her witnessing this scene.
"You guys...erm... seem to be in a leisurely mood?" What the hell was going on with this discussion about being responsible or not responsible?
"Get out!" Yancy Hastings frowned, displeased to see Nia there. It was bad enough that she hadn’t helped him; now, she was just getting in the way. So annoying!
Yancy Hastings was still clad in his camouflage military uniform, which made him look especially spirited. Beneath his bronzed skin was unyielding courage.
"You..." Nia got choked up. She did not expect Yancy Hastings to be so rude.
"I ca to see Fiona."
Looking at their squabble, it seed Fiona disliked Yancy Hastings even more. She’d experienced Yancy Hastings’s stubbornness before—it used to leave Evelyn Peary exasperated. Now he’d just switched targets.
"Yancy Hastings, did you call off Evelyn’s marriage because of this?" She pointed at Fiona, clearly not pleased that he was bothering Fiona.
Fiona listened, her brows furrowing tight. Had she destroyed soone’s marriage?
Fiona, at this ti, had no idea that Evelyn Peary was actually thankful to her.
"Yancy Hastings, is that how you see ?" Cancelling his engagent, how was she, Fiona, supposed to face people in the future?
"Don’t listen to her nonsense." Yancy Hastings wished he could throw Nia out of the room. He rarely got a chance to speak with Fiona, and now she was stirring the pot.
"She’s talking nonsense? Then, tell if what she said is true?"
Yancy Hastings fell silent. It was true. He had cancelled the engagent. And yes, he did it for Fiona. However, he didn’t want Fiona to feel any pressure about it.
Seeing Yancy Hastings react like this, Fiona nodded.
"Get out!" Fiona covered her face and frowned, wishing he would just get lost and never appear again. However, was Yancy Hastings really soone she could easily shoo away? He even dared to barge into the girls’ dormitory. Was there anywhere he wouldn’t dare to go?
"I’m not leaving." With that, he walked straight over and sat on Fiona’s bed.
Seeing him shalessly sitting on her bed, Fiona’s face turned red. Despite her usual carefree attitude, she still minded a man sitting on her bed.
"Yancy Hastings, you have no manners! Since you won’t leave, I will!"
When Yancy Hastings saw Fiona getting ready to leave, he frowned. He stood up, walked to the door, pushed Nia out, and slamd it shut.
"What are you doing!" Seeing his actions, Fiona sensed a crisis developing.
Outside, Nia stumbled back a few steps, barely staying upright by bracing herself against the wall. Her feet ached faintly. She didn’t expect Yancy Hastings to be so rude as to shove her out like that. If the wall hadn’t been there, she would have fallen.
Thinking of this, she grew furious and started pounding on the door. "Yancy Hastings, open the door! How dare you break into the girls’ dormitory?"
Nia, in her rage, kept banging on the door, further irking Yancy Hastings inside.
The door swung open suddenly, and Nia’s next pound landed squarely on Yancy Hastings’s chest. It was as hard as iron, making her hand ache faintly. She winced. His muscles really were solid.
"Get out of here! Don’t make get rough. Go away!"
