Nia Mitchell was a bit puzzled as she looked at the two of them. Why did the atmosphere feel sowhat wrong?
"Fiona, are you leaving?"
Fiona Sutton was taken aback. Initially, she planned to slip away when Nia wasn’t looking but didn’t expect to be caught red-handed.
"Yeah, I just rembered I have so errands to run, so I can’t join you for milk tea. Maybe next ti." Fiona Sutton smiled, patted Nia on the shoulder, and then left.
"Huh?"
Nia blinked in confusion, then turned her head to look at Maxwell Peary.
"Uncle, what did you say to her?" Why did she suddenly up and leave? That’s quite out of character for Fiona.
"Nothing much, she received a call." Maxwell sat there, his face serious and unyielding as he spoke in a very earnest tone.
And so, Nia believed him.
"Oh." She nodded. It must have been a call from Charles Northwood. He’s the only one who could make Fiona drop everything like that.
"What about the milk tea?" Nia slumped down on the chair, deflated.
"Let’s go ho." This milk tea is so unhygienic, Maxwell thought. It would be better to take her ho for milk.
"No, the milk tea hasn’t been served yet." Nia shook her head. No, no, no, can’t waste it.
Maxwell furrowed his brows slightly, extending a hand toward Rabina Mitchell.
"Let’s go ho; I’ll get you sothing good to eat." Threats and bribes usually worked best with Rabina Mitchell. However, if there was also delicious food right in front of her, they might not be as effective.
She shook her head vigorously.
"My milk tea hasn’t arrived yet. Since we’re already here, why not have a cup? It’s been such a long ti since I last had it." Counting on her fingers, it really had been a long ti since she last had milk tea here.
The CEO, seeing her like this, imdiately hoisted her up by her waist.
"We’re going ho now!"
"Ah! No!" Nia resisted, her little feet flailing, her small head shaking vigorously.
"Stop moving!" A smack landed on Rabina’s little bottom. Maxwell’s face darkened. "If you keep squirming, you’ll face Family Law Punishnt!" It’s all unhealthy, yet she’s still making a fuss about wanting it, he thought.
Nia pouted, lying motionless in the CEO’s arms, feeling wronged. Seeing Maxwell looking at her expression, she deliberately turned her head away, burying her small face in his chest.
"When we get ho, I’ll have the butler make you sothing nutritious," he said earnestly. "This stuff isn’t healthy. You need to take good care of yourself so you can have a healthy baby in the future."
But Nia read sothing else into his words. So, the CEO is only acting this way for the sake of a child? Hmph! The child isn’t even born yet, and he’s already playing favorites! Pfft, no, that’s not right. There isn’t even a child yet, not even the size of a grain of rice. How annoying, how annoying, how annoying! Nia felt like squatting in a corner and drawing circles.
Feeling that Rabina had cald down in his arms, Maxwell carried her out of the Milk Tea Shop and gently placed her in the passenger seat.
"Fasten your seatbelt."
After speaking, he closed the passenger door and walked around to the driver’s seat.
Just as he was about to fasten his own seatbelt, he turned his head and saw that Nia hadn’t moved. Oh! She’s really sulking, he thought.
Maxwell shook his head, leaned over to fasten her seatbelt for her, and then stole a quick kiss from her lush, red lips.
"MMH..." Nia instantly covered her mouth with her little paw, her bright eyes widening.
"Uncle, you’ve gone too far!" He even stole a kiss while fastening a seatbelt!
"That’s my reward for strapping you in."
