After so careful calculations, it seed she only had a little over seven hundred USD left.
Suddenly, she rembered that she still owed Charles Northwood six hundred USD.
Thinking of this, she halted and dialed Charles Northwood’s number again.
Charles Northwood, who was trailing her, found it strange when she suddenly stopped. Just then, his cellphone vibrated.
"Hello?"
His voice sounded a little muffled, as if suppressed by sothing.
He hadn’t realized that Fiona Sutton was so broke she couldn’t even afford two at buns.
"I just rembered I owe you six hundred USD. I ca into so money a couple of days ago, so I can pay you back now. Where are you?"
A tremor ran through Charles Northwood’s heart, and his right hand slowly clenched.
"I’m at Madgar Pavilion."
He figured he might as well tell her a location and take her out for dinner while he was at it. Look at how terribly skinny she is.
"Madgar Pavilion?"
Fiona Sutton bit her lip. Madgar Pavilion is quite far from University A. If I take a cab, I’ll have almost no money left. If I take the bus, I’ll have to transfer several tis. By the ti I get there, he’ll probably be long done with dinner.
"Alright then, I’ll drop the money off in your Office Room, and then..."
Fiona Sutton turned her head and was startled to see Charles Northwood standing about five ters behind her.
The words died on her lips.
In her free hand, she still held a Vegetable Bun, her intended breakfast for tomorrow.
He was still dressed all in white, as if he didn’t belong to this mortal world. No amount of filth could tarnish his sanctity. This Charles Northwood had long left her leagues behind. In Capital Town, his combined attributes placed him well above average. And she? She was just a recent university graduate struggling to even get by.
Charles Northwood hadn’t expected her to turn around so suddenly. Seeing she had discovered him, he stepped forward.
"You’ve been following ?"
Even if I were a complete fool, I could figure that out. I suddenly rembered what he said about fate earlier... he must have been... then.
"Charles Northwood, you’re ruthless!"
Saying this, Fiona Sutton opened her bag, took out the six hundred USD in loose bills, and threw them at him.
"If you don’t like , then stay away from ! You know better than anyone what’s truly best for ."
Just seeing him made her heart ache terribly. It was as if she were suffocating, drowning. She couldn’t grasp a life-saving straw, couldn’t cry out; even breathing felt like a luxury.

With that, she turned and ran. Her phone rang just then, and she sank onto a wooden bench, panting.
She pulled out her phone. An unfamiliar number. A landline, even! Damn it! Another telemarketing call!
She abruptly hung up. I’m in no mood for this right now.
Not even two seconds after she hung up, it rang again.
Agh! Are telemarketers this persistent nowadays?
She hung up again.
Still, not two seconds later, it rang once more.
Seriously?! Are they going to keep at this all day?
Left with no choice, Fiona Sutton answered.
"Listen, are you telemarketers so desperate you can’t find anyone else to call? I already hung up on you! Didn’t you get the hint? I can’t afford a house or a car! I don’t need insurance or comrcial property! And as for antiques or whatever, I know nothing about them! All I have on right now is a little over a hundred USD, so say what you want and get it over with!"
