Just by listening to her words, anyone who didn’t know better would really think that Maxwell Peary was at fault.
But really?
This Rabina Mitchell, she’s really sothing.
"You’re not allowed to eat, and that’s final. I’ll tell the butler to watch your mouth closely for the next few days."
"You!"
Nia Mitchell fud. HMPH! If he wouldn’t make her anything good to eat, she would just go out and eat.
"Uncle..."
Nia Mitchell’s eyes darted around thoughtfully for a mont, and then her voice imdiately softened, becoming incredibly gentle as she spoke.
GULP!
On the other end of the line, Maxwell Peary swallowed hard, his mouth suddenly dry and his tongue parched.
"Hmm."
A single, emotionless syllable ca through the phone, making Nia Mitchell bite her lip.
"Could you bring sothing tasty when you get off work?"
She asked tentatively, not directly stating what she wanted to eat.
Maxwell Peary was taken aback. Nia wants to eat food from outside?
"What kind of food?"
Hearing his question, Nia Mitchell playfully stuck out her tongue.
"Don’t ask yet. First, just say whether you’ll do it or not."
Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow slightly. Oh? Is this Rabina Mitchell trying to pull a fast one?
"Nothing cold."
He first stated his condition. Rabina Mitchell dislikes spicy food, so that can be ruled out as well.
"Okay, it’s not cold. So, will you bring it or not?"
Nia Mitchell’s eyes lit up. Hearing that, did this an she had a chance?
"Alright."
The CEO felt utterly helpless. His own Rabina Mitchell wanted to eat sothing; even if it was at the ends of the earth, he had to agree. Otherwise, what if Rabina Mitchell asked soone else to buy it for her?
"I want cotton candy! The red kind!"
Maxwell Peary fell silent.
"Uncle?"
For a long, long ti, no sound ca from the other end of the line. Nia Mitchell called out again, her tone probing.
Maxwell Peary finally regained his composure, though the corner of his mouth twitched.
What did this Rabina Mitchell just say? Cotton candy? HISSS—
"That kind of junk food isn’t hygienic. You still want to eat it?"
Nia Mitchell pouted. She knew it would be like this.
"But Uncle, you said you’d bring it! You promised before, and it’s not cold!"
She was prepared for this, unless the CEO was shaless enough to go back on his word.
COUGH!
Maxwell Peary coughed awkwardly.
"Alright, alright, I’ll bring it. Just don’t eat anything you shouldn’t at ho. If I find out you ate anything cold..."
"Don’t worry, I won’t."
Frederick Goldsmith is watching so closely, I can’t get my hands on anything anyway.
However...
HMPH!
I have my ways.
After hanging up, Nia Mitchell put on her shoes, grabbed the phone, and carefully made her way to the kitchen. However, she bumped right into Frederick Goldsmith at the entrance.
"HEHE!"
Nia Mitchell’s smile was stiff. She then held out the mobile phone.
"I ca to return the phone."
She smiled, her face a picture of innocence.
"Mm. I never said you were here to do anything else, Miss."
Yeah, right!
Who knew Frederick Goldsmith could be so devious? His face clearly scread, ’Don’t even think about sneaking any food!’
"I... I’d like so brown sugar water. That’s okay, right?"
Frederick Goldsmith nodded and imdiately gave the order.
"Prepare a cup of brown sugar water for Miss."
"Yes, sir!"
Frederick Goldsmith just stood there, not moving an inch.
Blast it!
You win this round.
"Well then, I’ll head back to the living room. Butler, rember to bring the brown sugar water over yourself later, okay?"
After saying that, Nia Mitchell flashed a particularly innocent smile, then turned and left.
The mont she turned around, the expression on her face instantly changed.
She kept grumbling under her breath, inwardly cursing out the CEO and Frederick Goldsmith.
