Sothing’s definitely off.
"Uncle?"
Nia called out tentatively again.
The CEO huffed in displeasure.
"What is it?"
Uh... That cold, icy voice... it was definitely the CEO.
"You should hurry up and eat."
Nia urged him, but Maxwell Peary still ignored her.
"I’m not eating. You don’t care."
Damn it! That phrase again! The CEO is definitely possessed today.
"Oh, co on, don’t be like this."
When it ca to wheedling, Nia was an expert.
Sure enough, just that simple sentence, and a certain CEO had already softened a bit.
"Then you have to co back early tonight—"
If he didn’t say it, who knew when Nia would stop her wild escapades out there. She was on her period these few days; she should be resting properly.
"I know, I’ll definitely co ho early."
Nia imdiately promised; she hadn’t planned on staying out too long in the first place.
Hearing her words, Maxwell Peary’s expression, which had been gloomy all day, finally brightened considerably.
"Mm, have you had lunch yet?"
Only then did Maxwell Peary notice the ti; he hadn’t realized it was already eleven-thirty.
Nia imdiately nodded. Only after nodding did she realize Maxwell Peary couldn’t see her at all.
"Fiona Sutton and I are having a buffet."
Buffet?
Maxwell Peary frowned instantly. What on earth was that stuff?
"Don’t eat that sort of rubbish in the future."
Uh... Nia was a little stunned. A buffet is rubbish? Surely not. How can you call it rubbish? I could understand if you called barbecue rubbish, but a buffet... It’s perfectly normal food, and it’s delicious too. And this Buffet Restaurant is very hygienic.
"In any case, it’s all rubbish. Didn’t I give you a black card?"
Nia rolled her eyes. Fine, for soone like the CEO, who lived such a privileged life, probably only high-end hotels and fancy Western Restaurants counted as normal places. Everything else was just rubbish.
"I get it. I won’t eat it anymore, alright?"
She had to yield to circumstances.
Maxwell Peary nodded, pleased to hear what he wanted. That was more like it.
"Mm."
Maxwell Peary nodded in satisfaction. That was much better.
After nodding, he finally asked the question he’d been wanting to ask all along.
"You said you’re with Fiona Sutton?"
He asked tentatively.
"Yes."
Nia nodded and continued eating the food in front of her.
"Then... what about Charles Northwood?"
Truth be told, Maxwell Peary was actually extrely concerned, but he had been forcing himself not to ask. But the thought of Charles Northwood potentially coveting his Rabina made him completely lose his composure.
Hearing the CEO ntion Charles Northwood, Nia was a little surprised.
"Why would Uncle ntion Charles Northwood?"
Nia didn’t answer, asking a question of her own instead.
Hearing his wife’s counter-question, Maxwell Peary felt a twinge of embarrassnt.
"It’s nothing, I was just curious. Didn’t you go to University A to hang out with them before?"
Maxwell Peary said, feigning calmness.
Nia pouted and nodded. Fair enough.
"Charles Northwood couldn’t make it. It seems like sothing ca up for him last minute. So, it ended up being just Fiona Sutton and ."
Nia sighed. They’d finally managed to find so free ti; it was such a sha. The three of them hadn’t had a proper get-together in a long ti.
