Fiona Sutton’s mouth twitched. Had she said sothing wrong?
"Nia Mitchell, you don’t understand," Fiona said. "With so people, if you’re always overly polite, they just won’t take you seriously at all. Many things can’t be resolved with a good temper. If I hadn’t been so decisive earlier, the manager would probably still be stalling here."
She paused, then added, "I have a strong feeling that the manager won’t be able to stop that man outside. You should prepare yourself."
Nia Mitchell was startled.
Prepare herself? For what?
She blinked and looked at Fiona Sutton with a puzzled expression.
Fiona Sutton sighed. Was Nia really this naive?
"Of course, prepare to deal with that man," Fiona explained. "If he ca because of Young Master Peary’s reputation, he’s either trying to form a connection or is relying on his existing status."
She continued, "The chances of him just relying on his status are slim; he’s most likely here to build connections."
Upon hearing this, Nia Mitchell nodded in agreent.
She hoped the manager could stop him. However, not even five minutes had passed before a middle-aged man with a domineering presence walked in.
"Who drove Young Master Peary’s car here?" he bood.
The Buffet Restaurant was not occupied solely by Nia Mitchell’s party. There were custors who had arrived earlier, and they couldn’t very well be asked to leave. Hence, there were still a few other tables occupied.
Nia Mitchell didn’t say anything, her mouth twitching slightly. If this man was indeed here to form connections, just one look at him told her he was no good.
The Chairman of X Corporation furrowed his brows. He had only seen the manager hurry in this direction; he hadn’t expected there to be several tables of custors here. He’d never imagined that soone who could drive Young Master Peary’s car wouldn’t have status and prestige. So, they would normally be seated in a Private Room... However, all of this was quite unexpected.
After carefully scrutinizing the people present, he thought, Judging by their clothing and deanor, I really can’t tell who among them could possibly be an acquaintance of Young Master Peary.
"Speak up!" Chairman Zhu roared, his face flushed with anger. He felt like he was being played.
Nia Mitchell trembled. She hadn’t expected this man to fly into a rage out of sheer embarrassnt.
"Manager," Chairman Zhu said, turning to look at the manager who had just caught up, his mood extrely sour. "I’ll give you one last chance. Tell , which table are they at!"
The manager hesitated, not daring to speak up.
Who knew what kind of background these young ladies had? he wondered.
"Not speaking, are you?" Chairman Zhu glared angrily at all the custors present. "Since soone drove Young Master Peary’s car here, they should have the sa guts as him. What? Is it possible that Maxwell Peary is also a coward, hiding and not daring to make a sound?"
Nia Mitchell’s mind buzzed with sudden anger, her expression instantly turning furious.
This person... his rudeness was simply beyond belief. She really wanted to see what this man was trying to do, being so abrasive before they had even properly t. People who don’t give others any way out deserve whatever consequences they face.
"What kind of way is that to speak?" Fiona Sutton, sensing that Nia Mitchell was about to speak up, interjected before she could.
Nia Mitchell was startled. She faintly sensed that Fiona Sutton was trying to protect her.
"Are you the one who arrived in Young Master Peary’s car?" Chairman Zhu frowned. Clearly, he had never imagined it would be such a young girl. And her clothes? What on earth was she wearing? Her appearance... it was simply... TSK. TSK.
