Nia Mitchell crouched there, her face red, unsure how to make him leave.
"Sweetie, don’t crouch, or your legs will go numb."
He felt a twinge of pity for her. Crouching on the floor like that must have been very uncomfortable.
Hearing the CEO’s words, she bit her lip.
"I bought you cotton candy," Maxwell Peary started to coax her.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Nia Mitchell lowered her hands from her face, her large, moist eyes fixed on the cotton candy before her.
It really is!
Uncle Peary actually hadn’t forgotten about this.
She had assud he was furious about what happened at University A this morning.
He’d clearly been so angry he’d stord right off then.
"Uncle..." Suddenly, Rabina was overco with emotion, her voice thick and nasal.
"Quick, get up." Seeing her still crouching, Maxwell Peary reached out to pull her up.
"Don’t!" Flustered, Nia Mitchell imdiately placed the cotton candy she had just taken back into Maxwell Peary’s hands.
"Uncle, hold this for a mont. I... I need to go to the restroom."
With that, Nia Mitchell abruptly stood up and hurried towards the restroom.
But after only four or five steps, Nia Mitchell stopped dead in her tracks.
"AHHHH, it’s numb, it’s numb! My foot is numb..." A pins-and-needles sensation shot through her entire sole, and Nia Mitchell stood there awkwardly, not daring to move.
Hearing Rabina’s cry, Maxwell Peary imdiately walked over and reached out to steady her.
"Easy now." Seeing her wincing, Maxwell Peary frowned. He handed the cotton candy to her, then scooped her up and set her down on the bed.
"I told you not to crouch."
As he spoke, Maxwell Peary knelt, slipped the fluffy slippers off Nia Mitchell’s feet, and began to gently massage her soles.
"AH! Don’t touch, don’t touch! It’s numb, it’s so numb!"
Nia Mitchell’s face was crimson. His touch sent a different kind of electrifying tingle through her foot.
"Don’t touch..." Her eyes welled up, looking as if tears might spill at any mont.
"Alright." Maxwell Peary had no choice but to release her foot for now and simply watch her.
Since he was kneeling, his line of sight... Then... his vision was filled with red.
AHEM! He finally understood why Rabina had been crouching there when he ca in. And the ssy bed now made sense too.
He drew a sharp breath. Why does this feel so... peculiar?
"Oh, you." With a sigh, Maxwell Peary stood up and began to straighten the quilt.
Nia Mitchell looked down at the pink cotton candy in her hand, her face flushed.
"If you can’t put on the duvet cover, you can go downstairs and ask a maid to co up and do it."
Maxwell Peary looked at the tangled quilt, the corner of his mouth twitching.
Nia Mitchell bit her lip. She did know how.
"I can do it." Nia Mitchell pouted. It only ended up like this because I was in such a rush and got flustered earlier.
"Alright, you can do it," the CEO said nonchalantly, continuing to fix the quilt.
Hmph! The way he’s humoring , he clearly doesn’t believe !
Nia Mitchell sighed. The numbness in her foot had subsided, so she imdiately got off the bed.
"I’m going to the restroom!" I wonder if the CEO saw that my pants were stained earlier? So embarrassing!
Nia Mitchell quickly placed the cotton candy on the table and turned to walk towards the restroom.
"You forgot your underwear and pajamas." Maxwell Peary had been watching her. Seeing her about to enter the restroom empty-handed, he quickly spoke up.
