GASP—
This was Alan Morgan. They had only found out a few days ago that he was, in fact, the sole heir of the Morgan Family.
Wasn’t he said to be gravely injured and on his deathbed? Why on earth did he suddenly show up here?
It wasn’t just that everyone was curious about this; even Nia Mitchell couldn’t help but find it exceedingly strange.
Ignoring everyone’s scrutinizing gazes, Alan slowly walked to Shirley Grant’s forr seat.
His face was deathly pale; it was unclear if it was due to his unhealed severe injuries or so other reason.
He seed especially weak today.
Looking at Shirley Grant’s vacant seat, Alan reached out and opened her drawer.
It was completely empty.
She hadn’t left anything behind.
"Alan?"
Nia Mitchell frowned. Slightly worried about his condition, she quickly went to his side.
"Why did you leave the Hospital to co here?"
Nia looked at him with confusion. She had also heard this news earlier and found it utterly unbelievable.
Alan turned to look at Nia, his eyes slightly red.
"’I’m fine.’"
He replied, then turned to leave.
At the door, he encountered Maxwell Peary, who happened to be passing by.
"Co inside with ."
With that, Maxwell walked directly towards his Office Room.
Alan stood there, hesitated for a mont, then followed him.
"Hey, hey, hey, I’m so curious! Nia, quickly, go see what they’re talking about."
Suddenly, soone in the office spoke up.
"Yeah, yeah! We don’t dare go over, but you’re different, Nia. Hurry up and see!"
Imdiately, others chid in, all strongly agreeing and hoping Nia would go and investigate.
Nia Mitchell was exasperated. Did they really have to act like this?
"If you want to go, go yourselves."
Hmph, trying to use to do their dirty work? How outrageous!
Hearing Nia’s words, everyone started to look a little displeased. Does she have to be so arrogant? Getting a big head over nothing, does she really think she’s soone special?
"’If you don’t want to go, then don’t! What’s with the attitude?’"
Imdiately, soone started to retort.
Nia frowned, finding the situation utterly ridiculous. She turned to look at that secretary.
"’Am I the one with an attitude? If you’re so eager to know, why don’t you go yourself?’"
If you don’t have the ability to find things out yourself, then don’t be so curious. And if it’s clearly sothing you shouldn’t know, then you definitely shouldn’t try to inquire.
Nia paid them no further mind and started on her own tasks.
「Inside the Office Room—」
Maxwell Peary and Alan Morgan were both sitting on the sofa. Maxwell turned to look at the weakened Alan.
Maxwell let out a sigh.
"Why did you co here?"
According to what he knew, even with an astonishingly fast recovery, Alan should still be confined to a hospital bed at this mont.
"I just... wanted to co and have a look."
These past few days, his mind had been in utter chaos.
Shirley Grant...
The more he thought about this person, the less he understood her. He found himself increasingly disgusted, yet, at the sa ti, he felt a pang of heartache.
He wanted to find the source of these emotions, but this place... it was completely empty.
"Alright. You should go back and continue recuperating. As for those who hard you, I will deal with them myself."
Maxwell sat there, the corners of his lips curving slightly as he finished speaking.
To harm Alan so brazenly was a blatant provocation against him, wasn’t it? In that case, he would naturally give those people a grand ’gift’ in return.
Alan shook his head.
"I will avenge my own wrongs. Leave them to ."
Alan refused. Although his face was still sowhat pale, the sharp glint in his eyes was impossible to ignore.
