Instantly, tears stread down Nia Mitchell’s face. She felt as if all strength had drained from her body, and she slowly sank to the ground.

Even when facing the mayor’s threats, she hadn’t cried so bitterly. Maxwell Peary had co, yet he had abandoned her. He had said such things and just left. He had left without any hesitation.
