Nia Mitchell looked at the nurse in confusion. Why did this person’s gaze seem a bit odd?
With an indifferent shrug, she prepared to leave.
The nurse, realizing her rudeness, imdiately spoke.
"The patient in this ward was moved to the VIP Ward early this morning."
Nia Mitchell was taken aback. She nodded, not having expected the Hospital Director to be telling the truth.
She had previously heard the mayor say how difficult it was to get a spot in the VIP Ward.
Even the mayor had to wait for so ti before arrangents could be made, yet they had been able to move in imdiately.
Following the nurse’s directions, Nia Mitchell went upstairs alone.
Soon, she arrived at the VIP Ward.
Indeed, the VIP Ward was different. There was a separate resting area, and one could even cook there.
It felt just like ho, equipped with all sorts of anities.
At this mont, Aldy Mitchell had already woken up.
He opened his eyes and saw Nia Mitchell entering through the doorway.
"Sis?"
Aldy Mitchell’s eyes instantly lit up. He found it sowhat hard to believe that Nia Mitchell had actually returned.
"Hmm."
Nia Mitchell truly didn’t know how to face him. She could only offer that cool acknowledgent, then placed the breakfast she had brought on the side table.
"Dad, co have breakfast," Nia Mitchell said.
Father Mitchell sat quietly to the side, his eyes slightly red, probably from staying up all night.
She glanced around but didn’t see Molly Harguez, which made her a little curious. However, she didn’t ask.
Aldy Mitchell was on an IV drip. He had been awake for quite so ti and lay in bed, watching Nia Mitchell continuously.
"Sis, why are you back?"
Aldy Mitchell blinked, afraid this was just his imagination.
Nia Mitchell smiled faintly.
"Dad called ."
She didn’t ntion Molly Harguez, and neither did Aldy Mitchell.
For a mont, the only sound in the ward was the beeping of dical equipnt.
Father Mitchell didn’t eat breakfast. He simply sat there, looking desolate.
She wasn’t sure if Aldy Mitchell had any serious problems, as she had heard he’d hit his head.
Seeing Father Mitchell like this, she felt a pang of sympathy.
"Aldy, are you uncomfortable anywhere?"
Nia Mitchell walked over to Aldy Mitchell’s bed. His head was wrapped in bandages, and his face was bruised.
"No, I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt at all."
Nia Mitchell was startled. How could it not be painful once the anesthetic wore off?
She looked down at Aldy Mitchell lying there, and tears welled up in her eyes.
He was in this state, yet still thinking of others?
She hadn’t expected that the little boy from the past had truly grown up.
And she was grateful he was so different from Molly Harguez.
"It’s good that you’re not in pain. Your injuries aren’t severe. As long as you receive proper treatnt, you’ll be fine."
Aldy Mitchell nodded and then looked at Nia Mitchell.
"Sis, can you tell Dad not to worry? I know he’s worried about , but I’m really not in pain anymore."
When he woke up today, he had seen his dad sitting to the side, shedding tears.
This kind of unforeseen disaster was unavoidable, anyway.
Nia Mitchell was startled, not expecting him to say such a thing. She turned to look at Father Mitchell, who was sitting to the side.
Father Mitchell’s eyes grew even redder. He hadn’t expected his son to comfort him like this.
"Dad, you should eat breakfast now, or your body won’t be able to take it."
Father Mitchell nodded. Without saying a word, he went directly to the dining table and began to eat breakfast.
The breakfast slled good; it was the kind he rarely ate.
However, right now, his mouth was devoid of any taste.
