A few days later, the outside world remained calm, and Nia Mitchell gradually forgot about the matter.
She didn’t ask the CEO about the outco because she felt that even if she asked, Maxwell Peary wouldn’t say.
Every day was work and back ho, and finally, today was a rest day.
"Uncle, Dad called to co ho."
Early in the morning, Nia Mitchell was woken by a phone call and groggily walked into the study in her pajamas.
Compared to Nia’s sleepy eyes, the CEO could only be described as energetic.
Maxwell Peary looked up, saw Nia standing at the study door, and imdiately walked over.
"What are you going ho for?"
Maxwell hadn’t forgotten that last ti it was because Nia’s father wanted to take little Rabina back ho.
Luckily, she didn’t leave.
"I don’t know. I’ll go back after breakfast, and then I’ll co back on Sunday afternoon."
Nia shared her plan, which made the CEO quite unhappy.
"On such a rare rest day, I stayed up the past few nights finishing work, just to spend these days with you."
There wasn’t enough ti for a trip, but at least they could go out for a stroll.
But...
What is Nia’s father trying to do?
The main point is, if he gave Nia a choice, she would definitely choose to return to D City.
This was sothing Maxwell was most unwilling to accept.
"We can go out anyti. This ti Dad called, there must be sothing going on."
Nia defended her father and then walked back towards the bedroom, as she hadn’t changed out of her pajamas yet.
"There’s nothing going on."
Maxwell was rather dismissive; he had been keeping an eye on the Mitchell family and hadn’t heard of anything major happening.
"How can you say that?"
Hearing the CEO’s words, Nia was a bit displeased.
"If nothing’s up, why would Dad ask to co ho?"
For four years of studying away, her father had never made such a request. The fact he’s said so today ans sothing must be going on.
Maxwell was taken aback and realized his rudeness, so he sighed inwardly.
"Alright, alright, I’m almost done with my work anyway; why don’t I go with you?"
He thought, it’s best to keep his wife at his side for protection.
So when Nia ntioned going back to D City, he had already silently made up his mind.
Nia thought for a mont and finally nodded.
"Okay, then let’s go together."
After speaking, Nia stuck out her little tongue; she wouldn’t admit that she actually really wanted the CEO to go with her.
D City—
Riding Maxwell Peary’s private jet, Nia quickly found herself in D City.
"Uncle, what do you think Dad wants from ?"
Sitting in the car, Nia asked Maxwell beside her with a bit of curiosity.
"I’m not sure either."
As far as he knew, nothing major had happened in the Mitchell family. The most likely reason they wanted to see Nia was to give her so advice or instructions.
Maxwell couldn’t quite guess the reason, especially with people he wasn’t familiar with.
"We’ll just go over first; we’ll find out when we get there. But one thing I am sure of is that I won’t leave you, Uncle."
Suddenly, Nia’s little face turned serious.
She wanted to live a good life with Maxwell; last ti, when her dad tried to take her away, Nia could sense that her father had so reservations about Maxwell.
