Looking at how awkward she was being, Maxwell Peary’s eyes were filled with laughter.
"I wanted you to sleep a little longer."
He explained gently, reaching out to hold her two fair hands that were fixing his tie.
Nia Mitchell froze, standing there without moving an inch.
"But you said you’d call before."
This was totally going back on his word; he was clearly lying.
This kind of thing is so annoying. Since he wasn’t going to call her, he shouldn’t have said it in the first place.
Now he’d said it, but didn’t do it.
How could she possibly not be mad.
"Be good, don’t be mad anymore. From now on if I say I’ll call you, I definitely will, okay?"
Maxwell Peary coaxed her, reaching out to ruffle her hair.
"Be good and stay ho with Mom. I’ll try to co back early tonight."
He was just like an ordinary husband heading off to work, and she was like a very ordinary housewife.
The husband was leaving for work, and she walked over to see him to the door.
Straighten his tie a bit, say a few words of reminder, then quietly wait.
So peaceful.
A life like this, so ordinary yet so desirable, it makes people really yearn for it, really want to have it.
"Uncle, I’ll be waiting for you to co ho."
She suddenly put away her awkward little act and lifted her head with a face full of smiles.
Silvia Waterborne walked over yawning. Seeing the two of them all lovey-dovey, she raised her brows.
"Little Maxwell Peary, you’re heading out to work?"
Silvia Waterborne asked even though she clearly knew the answer, her face all sleepy and confused, obviously just climbed out of bed.
"Yeah. You just stay ho and don’t make trouble for .’"
Silvia Waterborne choked, feeling super hurt. She’d been selflessly thinking of her son, wanting to do sothing for him.
Who knew that in her son’s eyes, her noble move was actually "making trouble."
Ah, shit!
What kind of karmic debt is this?
"When have I ever made trouble for you? Explain it clearly. I promise I won’t beat you to death!"
Silvia Waterborne instantly flew into a rage, storming over with a total shrew expression on her face.
Maxwell Peary: ......
He raised a hand to rub his temples. Having an actress mom was really not that great in this respect.
She could switch among a hundred and eighty personalities in minutes, catching you completely off guard.

"Okay, okay, okay, you didn’t make trouble."
Not wanting to engage with her any more, he looked straight at his little wife in front of him.
"You just stay at ho. If Mom says sothing that upsets you, don’t bottle it up. Also, if you feel like she’s too annoying, just go hang out in my study by yourself, there’s a computer in there."

She could only stand there awkwardly like a post.

She said in embarrassnt.

What to do? He was heading out to work like an ox and a horse, and his wife actually kicked him out.

Nia Mitchell could practically feel a flock of crows flying over her head.
Is this guy really Maxwell Peary? How could he say sothing like that.
"I happen to be working on my thesis today, I’ll be super busy. I won’t have ti to miss you, just hurry up and go."
Nia Mitchell impatiently shoved Maxwell Peary out the door and then slamd it shut.

The world was finally quiet.
But when she turned around, she saw Silvia Waterborne standing behind her, staring dumbfounded.
